Shattered

Summary:

As Veldora felt the black, gooey void crawl up his skin, he muttered a slight curse to the name of the one who had killed him.
True dragons would usually reincarnate after death, but this time, Veldora had the feeling that he would stay dead. How unusual, for a monster in a slime's disguise to put an end to the storm dragon's life.

A slime, that went by the name of Rimuru Tempest.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The sky-blue transparent body of the slime dragged itself across the rough surface of the cave. A cave located within the Great Forest of Jura, holding a certain troublesome dragon.

To be honest, Veldora wasn't expecting his first visitor to be a slime of all people. Mere monsters would and humans would die immediately just from his mere presence. He just had that many magicules.

The slime however was waking towards him completely unbothered by his majestic presence. Or rather, it refused to even acknowledge his presence. No matter what Veldora said, the slime just wouldn't respond.

He even tried to establish a connection through [Thought Communication], a silly action as most slimes didn't even possess sentience, but this one didn't die immediately from being in his presence, so he was willing to try all options.

And yet, [Thought Communication] failed..no, to say it failed would not be correct. His attempt at establishing a connection was blocked. A shocking thing for the prideful Veldora. To see a mere slime decline a talk with a true dragon!? Just what was this creature?

Truth be told, Veldora would've gone up to the creature and poke it with his claws if he wasn't sealed right now. Either the slime was blind(unlikely considering it was headed straight towards him) or it was intentionally ignoring him.

Veldora was not sure which possibility had more chances of being correct. Another thing that piqued his curiousity was the slime's race. It was no normal slime, he could tell at a first glance. Even though his skills were sealed, his intuition was top class, courtesy of the experience gained by fighting against many strong individuals, and said intuition was telling him that the slime infront of him was abnormal in every sense of the word.

This creature is very interesting, The dragon thought in his usual arrogant tone.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, the little slime made its way over from the edge of his perception to the barrier, all while ignoring Veldora's continued attempts at communication.

The slime stopped, a few metres shy from touching the barrier, and finally brought down it's mental firewall, allowing Veldora to establish a connection with [Thought Communication.]

Finally! Time to teach this arrogant being a lesson, the dragon said, ignoring the irony of his own words.

"Mere slime, you dare igno-" It was at that moment that Veldora felt it-

-Something was wrong. Very, very wrong.

The [Unlimited Imprisonment] that had jailed him for centuries, was now breaking apart, it's complex web of dimensions unfolding one by one in front of his eyes.

Shocked, his gaze flicked back to the slime, only for him, the storm dragon, to recoil back in horror.

Instead of the mysterious, yet unthreatening slime, stood a new being entirely. The being-..no, the thing had a humanoid body, with blue hair and dirtied, blood soaked clothes. But what surprised him wasn't the sudden transformation, nay, it was the aura of the creature-

-Revolting, Repulsing, Disgusting, Eating, Devouring, Swallowing, Erasing, Destroying, Crushing, Tearing, Slashing, Scratching-

-There was no better way to describe the monster in front of him. Bloodlust radiated from his every fiber of it's body, but what terrified him wasn't that, nay, he'd seen such bloodlust countless times.

It was the recipient of said bloodlust.

Veldora knew. He just knew. The creature infront of him, it wished to erase all of existence, to erase every single living being that existed within the world, to erase all concepts of time, space, life and death. The creature wished for the absolute destruction of the world.

Then, with dawning horror, he realised, It's going to kill me!

True Dragons were true immortal beings that could not not be called after they were born, but, against all reason and logic, Veldora felt the need to escape, for he did not want to take any chances with this thing.

As soon as the last bits [Unlimited Imprisonment] unfolded, Veldora fired a bolt of black lightning at the thing, before attempting to use spatial magic to teleport away.

Unfortunately, the thing was fast. Too fast for Veldora to escape. The creature made no attempt to dodge or erect a barrier to block the black lightning, simply tanking the attack head on with no visible damage.

Immediately after, it erected a space lock that covered the entire Great Jura Forest, effectively trapping Veldora.

"Damn it!" Overcoming his fear, Veldora covered his entire body with his [True Dragon's Haki] before swiping at the creature with his tail. Once again, the creature stood still, not executing any defensive actions.

His tail moved at hypersonic speed, imbued with the haki of the ultimate lifeform, it should've shredded even enlightened humans immediately.

The thing didn't even flinch.

Die die die!

Attack after attack. Slashes, spells, haki powered moves, and yet, the figure made no move, simply absorbing it all for what seemed like an eternity and then-

-Darkness.

"Ah." It happened too quickly, one moment he was fighting against the creature and the other moment he was within the abyss. No light nor magicules permeated this place.

The void covered his body like a thick liquid. He could feel it. Feel it crawling on his skin, drowning him with every passing second.

"Ghrkh-" Help! Was what he wanted to say, but no voice came out, as even his mouth was being invaded by the shadows.

The liquidy void entered his mouth, then slided across his tongue, eventually entering the insides of his physical body.

Eventually, the void was within the Veldora, and Veldora within the void. At the end, both merged as one. What little remained of Veldora's soul was crushed and shattered, before eventually being devoured by the void as well, thus stopping him from reincarnating.

It was at this moment that the voice of the world rang out, to each and every individual in the world, a message that proved the impossible being done-
