In other words, I try to write a character that makes fun of all the romantic tropes out there. While avoiding some of them himself.

Notes:

Warning: This is a crack fic.

Please take everything here with a grain of salt, unless I place an explicit warning for that certain chapter.

And if possible, you are free to give feedback and maybe some suggestions to improve my work.

Chapter 1: Our Fourth Wall...

Chapter Text

I'm just going to break the wall here and confess my thoughts to you all reading this. I think...I am in a cliche romance world. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems regarding romance. It's just... the overrated cliches and dynamics that come along. Some I like, and others I hate with every fiber of my being.

Turning to my left, I see two of my classmates getting up in each other's space. And their actions...well, let's just say it doesn't give off homie vibes. Yes, there is such things as homie vibes. You know what else gives off vibes? Your MO- I mean, you guys!

Anyways...

I turn to my right. Another soon-to-be couple holding hands and giving each other loving glances. Surprisingly, no one seems to comment on said actions or even react.  The one thing the couples both have in common? I'll let you guess.

Done guessing? You guessed it! They're all gay for each other! Can I get a shoutout from all the gays out there?! No? Just me? Damn, tough crowd.

"Alright class. You have 2 questions for today's homework." I hear the entire class sigh in relief, including me as well. But then...

"Each question has 21 parts." Cue the chaos that comes along with it. Sighs and groans are heard everywhere in the classroom. Although subtle, you can even hear some laughter from the teacher. Fucking sadist.

The bell rings and my stuff already in my bag, I sped out the door. It's the last class of the day, so it's fine. I made it to my temporary house, where I live with a family of 3.

Oh, wait. I haven't introduced myself to you guys. My name's Weiji. Nice to meet y'all. I'm a transfer student from the USA.

Back to my discussion at hand, I am in a world of romance. Both the gay and straight kind. How do I know this? The men and women here are handsome and pretty as fu-

Wait, no cursing. Kids might be here. Ahem. I have lots of evidence that can support my claim. This world has many flaws that can defy logic and the people here lack common sense. Well, those who are pretty that is. And do I have to mention that the majority of the population at my school here have the looks of a fricking god? Although, I can tell I belong in the minority.

But it's a good thing I have some common sense. Why? Because I'm not like other guys.

...Forget I said that. That was cringe.

The real reason to my gain of common sense is my lack of charisma and my normal-looking face. It's not handsome, but it also doesn't look like I belong in a trashcan. Not only that, I came from a well-off family with no shady background. For now...

Ever since I took note of this fact, I spent a good chunk of my time-probably a couple of months- to research what I need to prepare in this world. And of course...

"Hold up, you can die?!" I reach for another apple slice, biting into it."That's...such a mood, not gonna lie. But..." Some of the romance novels and manga here have some tragic deaths in them. And this is only counting the Slice of Life genre, I haven't indulged myself in other areas, since I'm only focusing on what my reality is like right now. Unfortunately,"...this is a big problem." There are likely people that are gunning for people like me to be paired up with some man or woman.

So what does that have to do with you? Well, my dear reader, your job is to only spectate. Yep, you heard me. Just sit back, relax, and watch me dodge all the flags that be raised. My goal in life is to dodge all stereotypes, big or small!

Raise the Flag! This about to go down!

Notes:

Congrats! You made it to the end!

I had honestly written this to get my thoughts out in order. I was really inspired from a manga in which the main character is trying to dodge all flags that lead to a BL, and I wanted to try and recreate this story in my own way. So I thank you for reading this to the end.
