Work Text:
The warm sun shone into the bedroom, landing on one of the best people in Solros' life.
Solros was up before Luan again (As usual) and watched his boyfriend sleep peacefully. He loved the fact that Luan was only about twenty centimeters away from Sol, making him feel one of his favorite feelings in the world.
Wanted.
Feeling wanted wasn't something Solros had felt quite a lot. Not since his mother died. After that, he felt unloved, unneeded, and unwanted. He wasn't a son anymore. He was a punching bag. Just something you use when you're angry.
And his 'dad' was angry a lot.
But ever since he was reunited with Luan (Long story), all he'd felt was wanted. Luan made it clear all he wanted was Solros, and while Solros felt guilty he wasn't sure if that was all he wanted, Luan made sure he knew he didn't have to return the favor.
"Morning..." a sleepy voice said, pulling Solros out of his thoughts. When he looked at the root of where the voice had come from, he saw Luan, who he'd been absently staring at. Luan looked still a bit tired, but that was normal when he first woke up.
"Morning sl-sleepyhead," Solros said, before giggling. Luan smiled before giving his boyfriend a small kiss on the lips. Solros smiled, feeling wanted yet again. It was a common feeling nowadays.
A still half-asleep Luan pulled away from the kiss, before settling on Solros' shoulder, nuzzling it, making Solros giggle at the ticklish feeling.
"Are you going to fa-fall asleep on me ag-again?" Solros asked. Luan mumbled something, before nuzzling further into Solros.
"S-sorry?" he asked, and Luan spoke up a bit more.
"More sleep," he said, making Solros laugh again. Luan was awful at getting out of bed in the mornings.
It was these small moments that made Solros love his new life. He didn't have to wake up in fear of making his 'father' mad and ending up with another broken rib. Luan never hurt him, ever. He made sure Solros was comfortable, happy, and felt safe. And Luan wasn't the only one. So did his family. They did so many things to make Solros feel safe in his new environment, from getting rid of alcohol to taking down any dangerous weapons to even just not asking about his past. It made Solros feel guilty that they were doing all of this for him, yet he was doing nothing for them.
Luan always said it didn't matter, but it did. Not only had they taken him in, a stranger, but they'd also treated him like he had been living there his whole life. Like he was a part of the family. Solros had a secret promise to one day repay them for all their kind actions.
Luan moved again slightly, yet again pulling Solros out of his thoughts. Solros found himself laughing again, not because it tickled, but because Luan looked so adorable, with his messy bed hair and vibrant half-open blue eyes. When he caught his boyfriend laughing, Luan finally rose from Solros' neck.
"What's so funny?" he asked, his voice full of suspicion, even though his smile said otherwise.
"You have such fuzzy hair." was his answer, before it got ruffled. It just ended up looking even messier. Luan growled softly, before pulling Solros into a hug. Both found themselves not wanting to leave the arms of the other. However, they did, before lying back down and cuddling for the rest of the morning.
Overall, not a bad morning.
