Chapter Text
The dirt crunched under Eddie's smart black shoes as he walked along the familiar paths of the town of home. He would wake up every morning and walk the same route. It wasn't the quickest route, sure, but it was rather scenic.
Every day, the gravel of the dirt path would crunch under his shoes as he would hum a little tune to himself, occasionally checking his bag to make sure he hadn't missed anyone.
He would head to Julie's house, Poppy's house, and then Sally's.
He would purposefully skip the house of a certain butterfly expert and move on.
Then he would then head to Barnaby's house, Wally's house, and finally to Howdy's place where he would pick out a singular flower. He would roll his eyes when Howdy gave him a knowing look and passed him the flower.
Just like every day, he would tuck the flower into his front pocket before he began the moderately long walk back to the house he skipped before.
His heart would race as he excitedly walked towards the house where his partner lived.
He would knock on the door, which would be answered by his partner. A wonderfully knowledgeable and caring (and not to mention unbelievably attractive) person who he was lucky enough to call his own. He would give them the flower in a practiced yet genuine hand motion, to which the other would smile and blush, despite having engaged in the same routine for years.
The two would sit down and have breakfast as Frank would talk about their research while Eddie fell deeper and deeper in love with them.
Just like every day.
