Dear Kacchan,
Happy birthday! Is it weird I'm half expecting you to jump out from behind a corner and yell, "Don't wish me a happy birthday you damn nerd!"?
It's a strange feeling knowing I won't see you at all today. We've been with each other on both of our birthdays every year since… Well since as long as we've known each other. I know you hated that our moms made us go to each other's parties. I did too for a couple years. Even though you weren't happy to see me I was just happy to see you having a fun time with your friends on your special day.
I never told you this but I always left my gift to you unlabeled. I knew you'd hate whatever I got you no matter what it was. I figured one of your friends would step up and take credit for it. They did, every time. So all those limited edition All Might poster's, hard to find figurines, exclusive merch… Those were all from me.

Sorry if that ruins them for you now, but I thought you should know the truth.
I'm not sure how everyone reacted to my letter. I can picture your expression so clearly though. You probably ripped it up too while yelling about what an idiot I was being. I know you're mad but leaving UA is the only way to keep everyone safe.
When you jumped in front of me and Shigaraki stabbed you it was like my life flashed before my eyes. Staying at UA would just put you and everyone else I care about in danger. Besides, if something happens to me out there I'm okay with that. If All for One or Shigaraki killed you … I'm pretty sure you'd have a much easier time living in a world without Deku than I would living in a world without Kacchan.
Oh! I was still able to get you a present this year though! I managed to find another All Might trading card like we had when we were younger. I checked with Mina and she said it looked like you didn't have any signed All Might merch in your dorm room. I asked All Might if he'd sign it for me last month right before things started to get crazy for all of us. I hope you like it!
P.s. Since I missed your birthday this year I'll call us even for the time you smashed my face in the All Might cake at my 5th birthday party.
