"That is the absolute last time we rob from the illusionist coven." Eda flopped onto the couch with unnecessary gusto, a whirlwind from the door to the living room, everything fast and messy and Eda. The force of it startled Raine, which in turn startled the child in their arms who began to wail profusely. "Adrien Grey is the most obnoxious witch on the Isles, and coming from me that is saying a lot."
"Edaaaa I just got King to sleep!" Raine cried, rocking the baby Titan.
"Oh, he just misses his mama," Eda cooed, taking King from her partner. "Isn't that right, my little menace to society~"
"Don't call him that!" Raine exclaimed.
"My dearly detested baby boy, my little scourge upon the Isles, my terrifying little goblin," Eda continued, much to Raine's distress.
King was eating it all up, wails replaced by giggles. His hand-claws escaped the blanket they were swaddled in, and he reached up to grab Eda's nose.
"Oh, what's that King? You got my nose? King's got my nose?" Eda asked giddily.
Raine smiled at their wife's antics and moved towards the kitchen to check on dinner.
"So how did it go with the illusionist coven?"
Eda followed them into the kitchen and set King down in the high chair with his stuffed animal. Raine reached the stovetop and, satisfied with the soup, began gathering bowls for the meal.
"They claimed not to know anything about the Galderstone's location, but this map I found in the Coven Head's office says otherwise." Eda grinned as she pulled the aforementioned map from her cloak.
" I knew they were hiding something!" Raine exclaimed triumphantly. The ladle they used to transfer soup to the bowl spilled accidentally with their enthusiasm. "But Dorian Grey is all up Belos' --" They glanced at King, and once they were satisfied he was distracted by Francois whispered, "--ass and it doesn't make sense that he hasn't handed it over yet!"
Eda shrugged and took the bowl from them before sitting down next to King and attempting to feed him. "He's probably just too dumb to realize what he had. The important thing is we got to it first and hopefully derailed Belos' Day of Unity plan in the process."
"You think so?" Raine joined Eda's side, stirring their own soup in contemplation.
"We just gotta hope, Rainstorm." Eda rubbed their shoulder comfortingly. Raine leaned into her touch, putting aside their concerns momentarily to land a chaste kiss on her cheek.
"That's right, Calamity," They breathed. "Just gotta hope."
