Work Text:
It was rare for Isaac to be sick. He knew it himself, but the worry that Hector was clearly showing, was maybe a bit too much.
“It is just the cold,” Isaac promised, as he took Hector’s hand. “I will be better tomorrow or the day after.” Yet, he could not hold down a cough, as he sat up in a desperate attempt to free his airways. When he saw the reaction on Hector’s face, he just smiled. “Hector. It is just the cold.”
The other man sighed and closed his eyes. “I know.” With one hand he filled a mug with some cold tea, handing it to Isaac wordlessly. When Isaac took it, Hector took a deep breath. “It is just rare to see you like that.”
“Turns out, I am not invincible,” Isaac croaked, before drinking a sip. The tea was chamomile and salvia. It felt great in his throat.
Hector watched him, before getting up. “Take it from someone who goes through this at least twice a year: Allow yourself some rest. You will need it.”
“I know,” Isaac replied and drank another gulp of tea.
Then Hector leaned down to kiss his forehead. “Get better soon.”
