“We are going to faxing die!”
Jameson took Avery’s hand delicately, “Don’t worry, Heiress, Hawthorn men have nine lives.”
“Yes well us ladies don’t” Avery glared.
“Oh, you’re right! A Hawthorn’s lady has nineteen.”
Xander, grabbing Max’s hand nodded, “Nine of her man’s and ten of her own!”
Nash mounted the platform with a terrified Libby, “It’ll be fine darlin’ you know I would never let anything happen to you right?”
Libby nodded but her eyes were still wide with fear.
Grayson mounted last with Bex and Thea.
“Thea, if I die I will resurrect you from the dead just so I can haunt you for eternity!” Bex grumbled, shaking.
The group grabbed their umbrellas, as Oren strapped them in, “As your bodyguard I legally have to tell you that I do not condone this behavior.”
“Don’t worry,” Xan laughed, “All the potatoes I tested landed without a scratch.”
“Potatoes!!” everyone yelled in unison.
“Well I couldn’t use people, that would be dangerous,” he argued.
“The camera’s are rolling!” Alisa yelled.
This would be the best Inheritance Game kick off to date.
“You ready?” Grayson shouted.
“You jump, I jump, Jack!” Avery called back.
The group took a deep breath and jumped from the platform. Plummeting to the ground shouting the very first clue, “In Omnia Paratus!” Then at the last second they opened the umbrellas and floated to the ground, catching on their straps.
“We’re alive!” Xander shouted loudly as everyone cheered around them.
So what if Avery was being frivolous and showy, it was the most fun she'd had in a while.
