Work Text:

Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window. A lone bento box was sitting on the counter as a young girl glared at it. Her bright purple eyes flashed with irritation as the image of a blond man flashed before her.
“At this rate it won’t be a villain that kills him!” She huffed. “Guess I have no choice but to track him down and make him eat…. Again. Thank fucking Kami that it’s the weekend.”

She grabbed the bento box with her skinny pale hand.  Locking up the door to the modest apartment she was greeted by her kind elderly neighbor, Mrs. Akane.

“Did Toshinori-Kun forget his lunch again? He really is lucky to have a caring daughter like you to bring him it. He needs to put some meat onto those bones of his.” Mrs. Akane rambled on. “Don’t forget about the potluck tomorrow. You are more than welcome to bring that friend of yours, the purple one. What was his name again?”

“Hitsohi, ma’am. I’ll be sure to bring him. I’m sure he’ll love to join in.”  The girl smiled and continued her way down to the sidewalk.

“Now, where are you?” She muttered while pulling her phone out of her pocket. She pulled up the GPS app both she and her target used.

“D’agobah Beach? Isn’t that place a dumpsite? He better not be fucking doing what I think he’s doing. Maybe I should call Shi-Chan up to help… Nah, he needs all the rest he can get. I swear he constantly looks like a zombie or a mad scientist.”

The girl sighs and starts walking, grateful that the bento box was insulated. It took her thirty minutes, but she eventually arrived at the dump.  She looks around in wonder and scratches her head in confusion.

“Wasn’t this beach messier the last time I was here? I swear it had a lot more trash than this. There’s no way he is capable of cleaning this dump and do his hero work.” The girl mused to herself. She decided to sneak up on her target so he couldn’t try and hide what he was doing from her like he was so fond of doing. She pulled her long white and purple streaked hair up and made her way into the trash site.

She spotted the blond hair of her personal hero and foster father on top of a broken refrigerator. The man looked like a meth addict due to his skeleton like physique. The young girl of course knew the truth of his form. How six years ago the man faced off against an evil that the world stayed blissfully ignorant of. An evil that had taken the girl’s grandmother away from her biological father. Her father wasn’t a kind man to her or her biological older siblings because of it.

The girl silently hopped up onto the fridge and landed just slightly next to the off-duty hero. She peered down to see what he was he was watching so intently.

“You forgot your lunch because you wanted to watch an advanced piece of broccoli try to move heavy trash?” The man jumped up in the air and coughed up blood.

“Shoto? Why are you here?  Not that I mind you being here. And how did you find me?” The young girl, Shoto, simply held up her phone with the GPS app still pulled up. “Oh…” The man looked sheepish. “So why did you come here?”

Before Shoto could respond a voice drifted up from below.

“That pile is done All Might-… Whoops!”

The green haired boy paled when he realized his idol wasn’t alone. Quickly he analyzed what he was seeing. Standing next to his idol was a girl who looked around his own age if he had to take a guess. He bright purple eyes were crinkled up as she stated laughing. All Might had his head in his hands.

“Midoriya, my boy, this is my daughter, Shoto. Shoto, stop laughing, this is Midoriya Izuku. He’s the one I’ve chosen as my successor.”
Shoto stopped laughing and smiled down at the confused boy. She jumped down from her spot on the refrigerator and landed in front of the poor boy.

“Hi, it’s nice to finally meet the person my father keeps sneaking off to meet. I’m glad you’re not some scarlet woman who’s trying to seduce his gullible ass like I had feared.” Shoto ignored her father’s protests and smiled wider. “I’m going to call you Munchkin from now on!”

“W-what? Daughter?”

“Well, I’m his adopted daughter really. He adopted me when I was five. So around nine, almost ten years ago…” Shoto glanced at the embarrassed but proud blond man who nodded in agreement.
Izuku glanced down and mumbled something incoherently. Shoto poked the humanoid broccoli boy on the cheek. When he looked up, she raised her eyebrow, clearly waiting for clarification.

“If…. If you are All Might’s daughter, then why is he looking for an heir? Sorry if that sounded aggressive, or invasive, or confrontational or-mph!” Shoto smashed the palm of her hand onto Izuku’s mouth.

“Breathe, Munchkin! First off, since you are his chosen successor, you have a right to know this shit!”

“Language!” All Might coughed.

“Bite me! Anyways there is a reason why he had to look elsewhere for a successor for his and my grandma’s power.” Izuku tried to interrupt but Shoto still hadn’t, and wouldn’t, let go of his face. “The reason is we don’t want to risk my quirk fucking shit up. And before you ask, my quirk is called Null. Basically, it means quirks don’t work on me even if I really want or need them to. For instance, Recovery Girl can’t use her quirk to heal me. We’re afraid if he tried to give me the quirk, mine would cancel it out and One For All would be forever lost to the world.”

Izuku and All Might looked at Shoto in wonder. Izuku was shocked that there was someone who could ramble on like him. All Might was shocked that his daughter was talking so much. He was aware that she didn’t like to talk a lot like this unless she felt safe and comfortable. Considering what happened to her biological family, he couldn’t fault her for that.

“Could you let young Midoriya go? He seems to be turning blue.” Shoto glanced at the Green Beans face. It was turning some interesting colors.

“Whoops… Sorry Munchkin! Didn’t mean to do that! You should have said something.”

Izuku rubbed at his shoulder absentmindedly and said, “That’s okay, I’ve had worse. At least you aren’t trying to hurt me on purpose.” His statement was met with silence as the other two realized the implications of his words and actions.

“Well, I do believe it is time for the blond skeleton to eat the food I brought to him. Did you bring anything to eat Munchkin?” Izuku looked down and mumbled something along the lines of having forgotten it at home as well. “Well then, while dad eat his food, we can go to this café not too far away from here. My treat!” Shoto smiled a bright smile.

That smile instantly put All Might on edge. He knew Shoto wasn’t going to take no for an answer when she smiled instead of smirking. He could only hope that she could find out who’s been deliberately hurting the innocent boy.

“Sigh, well it looks like today’s training session is over now, Midoriya, my boy.”

“But All Might!!!” Izuku’s eyes got wide and frantic. “I need all the training I can get!  If I don’t catch up, I’ll -Ow!” Izuku held his head where Shoto had smashed her fist down on. She glared at the boy.

“If you overdo it, you’ll only set yourself back! It could take months longer if you push yourself too far dumbass! So, shut up and come with me. We’re going to eat and discuss everything!” Shoto grabbed Izuku’s wrist and began to drag him out of the dump.

“He’ll be fine.” All Might said to himself as he waved at his daughter and the young boy he was beginning to see as his son.
