Shauntal couldn't help but giggle as she was taken by the hand of her beloved husband as he dramatically dipped her back in his arms. He held their hands close to his chest as he gazed down at her.
"O, my dearest Shauntal, you've been away from my side for far too long. Two days from your embrace leaves my mind a wonder how to cure this aching in my heart."
She couldn't help but smile at him as he continued his dramatic display. She had to leave for the weekend for Unova for a ceremony to welcome a new Elite to replace her, as she was now an Elite in Sinnoh. Iris had asked if she could show the new Elite around. When she returned home to Sinnoh, Lucian was out, but he had left a note for her saying that he would be back soon.
It wasn't long after she unpacked her things that she was pulled into a hug from behind and surprised with a bouquet of flowers. She melted into his arms, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek as she greeted him. Shauntal slid out of his arm to find a vase and window for the flowers as she told him about her trip. As she turned to face Lucian to ask him about his weekend, she was pulled into his arms.
Gazing up at her beloved, she could hardly contain a smile, "I have an idea on how to cure what ails you, my love." She reached her free hand up to trail a hand up to his shoulder as a pair of words were whispered from her lips," Kiss me."
She was far from disappointed as he not only gave her that classic knowing grin, but closed the distance between them. Shauntal was glad for his firm hand on her back as he gave her a passionate kiss, lasting for more than a few seconds, as she felt dizzy from the rush of affection.
It was wonderful to be back home. This is where she belonged. In the arms of a handsome scholar who loved her and was never short on his ways of showing how much he cared for her. Even as he helped her stand back up on her feet, she could see his eyes soften before pulling her into a warm embrace, uttering the words 'welcome home' in her ears.
