Chapter Text
She didn't know her own name.
They called her many, many things.
She didn't really like them. She knew they were bad for her, but they were all she'd ever known.
She had fallen in love with one of them. He loved her, too. She knew that. But it was only a matter of time before he was taken away from her, too.
Now, she sat all alone on the dirty, dirty floor.
Maybe not completely alone, though.
She noticed a small bump forming a few weeks ago. Her suspicions were confirmed when the bleeding never came. Slowly, the bump grew, and now she sat on the floor holding it with two hands.
Her gift from him.
They knew about it. She thought they would force her to get rid of it, but they let it grow inside of her. Something was telling her that it was not for good reason, though.
A couple of months later, her baby girl came into the world. She got to hold her for a few days. She got to rock and feed her and sing to her, whatever tune she was able to remember.
They took the baby away one night, and locked up the mother.
All she could do now was sit all alone again on the dirty, dirty floor once more.
The man she loved, they took away.
Her baby, they took away, too.
Why wouldn't they take her away?
How much longer is she going to stay here?
All alone?
