Work Text:

"Luke, focus."

"Huh, what?"

His trainer let out a deep sigh.

"You're doing it again."

Luke raised an eyebrow at his trainer.

"Doing what?"

"Starring at Joss again," said the trainer teasingly.

"Shut up, P. Not so loud."

His trainer cannot help himself but laugh at Luke's silly crush.

Joss was everything Luke wasn't - strong, tough, and confident. He had a rugged charm that Luke couldn't resist, even though he knew nothing could ever come of his feelings. Joss was straight, after all, and Luke had never even hinted at his own sexuality.

But that didn't stop Luke from admiring Joss from afar. He would often find himself watching Joss train at the gym, marveling at the way he moved so swiftly in the ring and the way his muscles bulged under his shirt. At times when Joss would train without a shirt on, just in those rediculous short shorts, Luke would find himself starring more at Joss than the distance on the threadmil. It was almost hypnotic, and Luke found himself drawn to Joss like a moth to a flame.

One day, as Luke was working out on the punching bag, Joss approached him.

"Hey, Luke, right?" Joss asked, flashing him a friendly smile.

Luke could feel his heart racing as he nodded. "Yeah, that's me."

"I've seen you around here a lot," Joss continued. "You're pretty good."

Luke felt his cheeks flush with pride. "Thanks. I try. Not as good as you though. You're a beast."

"I try. Gotta train for a match soon."

"Really? I didn't see any notices at the board," questioned Luke.

"It's at another ring. Quite far from here."

"I see."

They struck up a conversation, talking about their respective careers and interests. Luke found himself opening up to Joss in a way he never had with anyone else, and before he knew it, they had been chatting for over an hour.

The punching bag and fighting ring left behind.

As they were getting ready to leave, Joss turned to Luke and said, "Hey, do you want to grab a drink sometime? You know, get to know each other a little better?"

Luke could hardly believe what he was hearing.

Was Joss actually asking him out?

His heart was pounding in his chest as he stammered out a yes.

They exchanged numbers and made plans to meet up later that week.

Luke couldn't focus on anything else for the rest of the day - he was too busy replaying the conversation over and over in his head.

When they met up at the bar the night later, Luke was nervous as hell. He had never been on a date with a man before, let alone someone as intimidating as Joss. But as soon as they sat down together, all his nerves melted away.

Joss was just too gorgeous for words.

Tall, manly, there was this air of warmth to him that Luke has never felt before in his life.

They talked and laughed and shared stories, and Luke felt like he was in a dream. Joss was everything he had imagined and more - kind, funny, and incredibly easy to talk to.

As the night wore on, Luke found himself inching closer and closer to Joss, until their knees were touching under the table. Joss didn't seem to mind - in fact, he seemed to be leaning in closer himself.

Over the next few weeks, they started meeting up at Joss's apartment after his fights, or sneak away to secluded spots during filming breaks. It was thrilling and nerve-wracking all at the same time, but Luke couldn't imagine being with anyone else.

Despite their differences - Luke the actor and Joss the boxer - they found that they had a lot in common. They both loved movies and music, and they shared a deep passion for their respective crafts.

But there was one thing they never talked about: Joss's sexuality. Luke could sense that it was a sensitive topic for him, and he didn't want to push him too hard.

It wasn't until Joss had won a particularly grueling fight that he finally opened up to Luke.

"I've never told anyone this before," he said

"I know," Luke said gently, reaching out to take Joss's hand in his own. "You don't have to tell me anything you're not comfortable with."

But Joss shook his head. "No, it's okay. I want to tell you." He took a deep breath before continuing. "I'm bisexual. I've known since I was a teenager, but I've never really talked about it with anyone. It's just...easier to pretend like I'm straight."

Luke felt a wave of relief wash over him. He had been worried that Joss would reject him if he ever found out about his own feelings.

"Thank you for trusting me," Luke said, squeezing Joss's hand. "I'm so glad you told me."

They talked for hours about Joss's journey to accepting his own sexuality, and Luke shared his own struggles with coming out to his family and friends. It was a cathartic experience for both of them, and Luke felt closer to Joss than ever before.

Joss and Luke had been working together on a project for weeks, spending long hours on set and getting to know each other better. They had developed a strong bond, sharing jokes and confiding in each other about their hopes and fears. But despite their growing closeness, they were both too shy to make a move.

One night, they found themselves alone in Luke's trailer, watching a movie together. Joss had made popcorn and they were snuggled up under a blanket, the sound of the rain tapping against the windows.

"I love this movie," Joss said, his voice soft.

Luke nodded, his eyes fixed on the screen. He couldn't concentrate on the film - all he could think about was Joss, the way his hair fell across his forehead and the way his hand brushed against Luke's as they reached for the popcorn.

Suddenly, Joss shifted beside him, his arm brushing against Luke's. Luke's heart raced as he wondered if it was intentional.

"Do you want to share the blanket?" Joss asked, looking at Luke with a shy smile.

Luke's heart skipped a beat. "Sure," he said, trying to keep his voice steady.

They shifted closer together, their thighs touching under the blanket.

Luke's mind raced as he tried to read the signals - did Joss feel the same way he did? Was this just friendly or something more?

As they watched the movie, their hands found each other under the blanket, their fingers intertwining in a gentle embrace. Luke felt a surge of warmth spread through his body, his heart beating faster with each passing second.

After the movie ended, Joss turned to Luke, his eyes sparkling. "That was great," he said, his voice low.

Luke nodded, unable to find the words to express how he was feeling. He knew he wanted to tell Joss how he felt, but he was afraid of ruining their friendship.

"I've been having a great time working with you," Joss said, his eyes searching Luke's. "You're one of the coolest people I've ever met."

Luke felt a blush rise to his cheeks. "You too," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Now lets go to sleep. I need to be awake in 5 more hours."

And sleep they didn't do.

They spent the rest of the night cuddled up under the blanket, talking about their hopes and dreams for the future. Luke knew that he had found something special with Joss, something that he had been searching for his whole life.

As they fell asleep in each other's arms, Luke felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over him. He knew that he and Joss were meant to be together, and he was excited to see where their journey would take them.
