Work Text:
Being the priestess of Watatsumi Island was a hard job, but an eighteen year old girl named Sangonomiya Kokomi managed to do it. Young lady Kokomi would often overwork herself to complete tasks including, trading, and other things that came from outside of the small island. Sangonomiya Kokomi was at her desk resting her head in her hands. Her energy points were quite low due to the fact that she was at meetings all day long, and still had paperwork to be done. The young lady's eyes started to close from the lack of energy, 'No Kokomi! You still have work to do…' Her eyes fluttered shut before she drifted into a long, gentle, deep sleep.
"Mama?" A young pale pink haired girl tugged at her mother's deep blue sleeves.
"Yes Kokomi?" Another pink haired woman looked into the child's blue pale pink faded eyes.
"Will I have to be a priestess like you when I'm older, mama?"
The girl's mother nodded before disappearing into a faint purple mist. The mist faded away to reveal a pearl like silver lake. The stones around the edge of the lake were Sango Pearls shimmering in the cool moonlight. Sangonomiya Kokomi gazed into the pool of water only to be met with the face of her younger self when she was a young, small girl. "You old DRAGON!" The little girl bellowed at her, frightened, she glanced at what sharp object she had cut her hand on. Kokomi screamed, her hand shaking as she tried to remove the skull biting on to her skin from her hand. The pearls she had been holding weren't truly Sango Pearls as she had thought, but rather rotting and decaying human skulls littering the bed of the lake. She turned her head back to the pool of water to see her own shadow evilly grinning at her before fading away into the ripples of the water. The once clean and clear water dirtied into a muddy, blood blood filled pool. The blood of her soldiers.
Kokomi awoke, she turned her head left and right to see if anyone was around. 'What was that?' Kokomi looked down at her stinging left wrist to find a small dainty cut exactly like the one in her dream. 'Maybe it's fatigue from lacking rest and strength…'
"Miss Kokomi!" A high, sharp pitched voice yelled to her through the entrance. "How are you, Miss Kokomi? Hey! Are you even there?!" Paimon and Y/N walked to the young priestess. Kokomi giggled not knowing that would come to Watatsumi Island and come find her.
"Why hello Y/N and Paimon, nice to see you two back at Watatsumi," she said. "Don't worry Paimon, we have lots of food just for you."
Y/N thanked her before looking at the small fairy-like flying child beside them. "What do you say Paimon?"
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, Miss Kokomi!" Paimon screamed to the girl. Paimon flew to the priestess's side and took her into a tight hug. Y/N and Kokomi exchange glances at each other before bursting into laughter.
"Hey you two! Come to the front gate of the Sangonomiya Shrine okay? We have some things to do!" Y/N hollered at the two hugging, Kokomi nodded at them. "Come at four thirty pm Komi, come on Paimon it's time to go," Y/N grabbed Paimon's hand and waved goodbye to Kokomi.
Kokomi left her safe place and went up the path to the Sangonomiya Shrine, the path to the Sangonomiya Shrine also went through Bourou Village. She noticed that there were a few children on the path, and handed each child a small clam with a beautiful shining Sango Pearl that glowed like the moon. The kids thanked her before running to return to their homes to show their parents and family what they had received from the young priestess moments ago.
Kokomi opened a book held by a light pink cloth gifted to her by her pen-pal, Yae Miko and turned to the first page. 'The Angel Kitsune?' Her mind started to ponder who would write a book called 'The Angel Kitsune'. Her eyes landed on the author at once. 'Miko and the Raiden Shogun?!' Kokomi flipped the page again and found herself enjoying the gentle, yet strong, novel. As fifteen minutes passed by she had already finished the long and exciting chapter. She wrapped the book back in the cloth she was handed it with and used her vision to make the lavender novel disappear into thin air to save for later. Kokomi climbed up the stairs to the Sangonomiya Shrine gates and walked down the hall to her room.
Sangonomiya Kokomi had many posters of Guuji Yae because had seen Yae Miko as an idol figure and wanted to learn from her in the future. When she had first met her pen-pal she couldn't believe she was writing to the worldwide known Yae Miko! She was so, so, so, happy! Her dream had come true! From then on they were pen-pal shrine friends! The young priestess checked her water jellyfish clock to see that the time was four twenty-six. She grabbed her pink camera and ran to the gates of the Sangonomiya Shrine.
"Hey! Y/N look! It's Miss Kokomi!" Paimon squealed. Kokomi ran over to the duo.
"Y/N, Paimon! I am so sorry I was late…" Kokomi bowed her head in shame to them.
"Oh don't worry Komi, we did come later than you," Y/N told her winking, Paimon nodded her head in agreement. "Let's get going Komi! Try and catch up with us Paimon!" Y/N stuck their tongue at Paimon.
"Hey! Wait for Paimon!" Paimon raced to catch up to them after complaining that they should've waited for her. Y/N led Paimon and Sangonomiya Kokomi to the nearby Bourou Village and pulled her and Paimon to begin their hangout.
Hours later Kokomi looked into her friend Y/N's eyes. "Isn't the sunset beautiful Y/N and Paimon?"
"Yes it is. Hey Komi, I'll take a picture of me, you, and Paimon for memories!" Y/N laughed, Paimon nodded eagerly.
When Kokomi returned home she held the pictures in front of her, 'The pictures are just as pretty as expected! I'll make sure to hang it up.'
