"Yoohyun-ah, come over here!"
At his hyung's call, Han Yoohyun bobbled over carrying two cotton candies and trinkets they bought from a shop. He donned a set of cartoonish headband that exhibited a pair of large animal-like ears.
"What is it hyung?"
"Stand over there! I'll take a picture"
Han yoojin pointed towards a cardboard cutout with holes where faces should be. Coaxing Yoohyun, he snapped a picture, even if Yoohyun does not particularly seem to want to be there, Yoojin would still keep the photo and cherish it forever. His brother still looked handsome even with this getup of course!
It was the day just after Han Yoohyun had finished a dungeon raid. Coincidentally, Yerim had just entered a dungeon herself and Yoojin finished sending her off with a team provided by Haeyeon and Blue. Yoojin went to sit on the couch and was grooming Peace when Yoohyun entered the room.
"Ah! Yoohyun-ah, you don't have guild leader work today?" Yoojin asked drowsily.
"No. The guild finished everything related to the dungeon yesterday. They gave me the day off, saying I should get back to work in a day or two."
"Oh I see….. It would be nice if we could go out during that time."
Really it had been said as a throw away comment; unconsciously by a half asleep mind. But the Haeyeon Guild Leader works fast, and the tickets to the nearby amusement park sell out faster.
"Yoohyun-ie, smile!! Take Peace with you aigoo. Hold it right there! Hold. Hold…. Perfect!"
In the past hour, Yoojin has managed to fill a quarter of his storage.
"Hyung stop taking pictures. If you'd like, I can take some of you." Yoohyun had suggested.
"No, no. I don't need pictures of me, they won't turn out as well. It's better if it's you, look at how handsome you and Peace look. Aiyah let's go. The line is waiting. " Yoojin quickly hid the camera and pulled his brother to a particularly exciting ride.
After that and several other rides, Han Yoojin is now stuck dizzy to the side.
"Ahhhhh. Curse Resistance does not work against motion sickness. I think I'm gonna hurl."
Yoohyun took a selfie with his brother's green face and sent it to Bak Yerim.
'We rode the roller coaster lol.' -It was captioned as Yoohyun proudly threw a peace sign at the camera, looking very smug. Peace too, was looking very smug in the picture.
With a very slight puff of laughter, Yoohyun put his phone away, then rushed to his brother's side with a fresh water bottle.
"Hyung, take it."
It was a few moments of tranquillity between the siblings. Sitting on a bench with Peace on the older brother's lap. They felt incredibly content with the nonsensical chatter around them.
"Hyung?"
"Hm?"
"Come with me back here again."
He was referring not only to the amusement park, but to spending time with his dongsaeng again. For all the hours they spent being estranged, for all the instances they couldn't enjoy as children being left by their parents and all the times after that. Promise that they will be able to enjoy themselves again with mostly just them without any troubles. That they could enjoy just being together.
"Of course Yoohyun-ie, you're my precious baby brother after all."
Even without saying a certain three-word phrase, it would have had just as much impact as when Yoojin first said it again in 8 and 3 years. Words are not needed because the message is always there in everything they do. 'I love you.'
