there is no need for more (just the three of us)

Summary:

or

A slow day in their cat cafe lets Kazutora share a moment of peace with his boyfriends.

Notes:

hey, its me again. uni has been kicking my ass and so, day 2, 3 and 4 will have to wait a little, but this one has been ready since the start (first one to get finished) so i hope you like it as much as i did

fun fact: though tecnically this is my first bajifuyutora fic uploaded, i have around 8 more wips of them, this OT3 really hits all the right spots. and while it's fun to let them have fluffy moments, the angst and drama potential are unmatched i love them so much

as always, english isn't my first language, so any corrections you have on that part are more than welcome

hope you enjoy! <3

Work Text:

Kazutora likes slow days.

Not having customers around means that he can convince Keisuke, who in turn will convince Chifuyu to take a break and laze around a bit, cuddle with the cats around the shop and enjoy each other’s company before their next client comes by.

It means that he will make hot chocolate or milk tea depending on his mood while his boyfriends bicker over what to eat alongside it and they will ask him to back up one of the options, always something sweet from Chifuyu and always something salty from Keisuke, and he will laugh and tell them to just eat both and to stop being dumbasses with a kiss to their cheeks that ends all argument.

It means they will get out the special cat treats for all their furry residents who by this point would realize they are getting extra food and come meowing, asking for attention and climbing all over them. Chifuyu will scold them when they inevitably climb up the tables, muttering about how expensive they were until a cat asks for pats and his green eyed boyfriend will forget all about that in favor of giving hugs to the next ball of fluff that he can get his hands on.

He will serve their drinks in one of the more private tables, with a silly heart made out of foam or paw prints that he never seems to get quite right but puts a blinding smile on his boyfriend's faces. They will squish together on one side of the booth despite there being enough space for all of them, enjoying the closeness it brings. For today, Kazutora ends up in the middle of Chifuyu and Keisuke with a few cats laying on the table in front of him. He thinks it’s his favorite place to be.

From his left he will listen to Chifuyu ramble about the newest shoujo manga that he has been reading, his cheeks gaining an endearing shade of red whenever he gets to a particularly exciting scene or description of one of the leads while he plays with the fingers of Kazutora’s free hand.

From the right, his other ear will be with Keisuke and his complaints about their cats, always a thing with the fluff balls. A health problem on Mochi that needs to be taken to the vet, the latest mischief their troublemakers, Tama and Hanten, have gotten up to. If Ame is actually getting adopted by someone. He would think Keisuke didn’t like his job if it weren’t for the fond look in his eyes, the bump he gives Kazutora’s shoulder whenever he gets excited about it.

Kisses will be given, in either lips, foreheads or wrists. Silly plans for the weekend will be made, most of them destined to fall through when they get too lazy to get up from the bed, happy to spend the whole day cuddling when they don't have to open the shop besides a few minutes to feed and play with the cats.

At some point conversation stops, a comfortable atmosphere enveloping all three of them. Here, it feels like the world doesn’t exist beyond their little coffee shop. That wouldn’t be a bad thing, he muses to himself. Just them, and warmth.

Inevitably, the shop’s doorbell will chime again, and Kazutora will sigh, Chifuyu will take the cat out of his lap with a frown and Keisuke will groan something about ‘stupid capitalism’ or something. They will stare at each other until the loser of their staring contest resigns themselves and stands up to go deal with the customer.

This time, it’s Chifuyu who ends up losing, getting up from his seat with a grimace that gets wiped when Kazutora gives him a quick kiss on his cheek and Keisuke sends a bright grin his way. The green eyed man turns too fast to really see it but they know he is blushing to the tips of his ears.

They see him go to the front of the shop, a few of the (smarter) cats trailing after him. Keisuke’s favorite kitten, Midori, takes the vacant space and the lingering warmth Chifuyu left. He pets it, smiling at the purr it gives when he scratches behind its ears.

He and Kei stay like that for a few minutes longer, not really talking or doing anything, just basking in each other's company. He could nap like this, if it weren’t for the distant sounds of customers entering the establishment and the meows for attention that can be heard every once in a while.

“We probably should go help Chifuyu." Kazutora hears himself say, but makes no move to get up. Keisuke hums, passing his fingers through dual toned hair, also not making a move to leave the little bubble they have.

Eventually, even he realizes they have to actually go help manage the shop. He stands up with a groan and a crack of his back. Midori mews at being moved aside, along with the rest of the cats when he starts picking up their used cups and dishes.

“Fine, but switch with me in the kitchen, I’ll break something if we get another order of cat shaped cookies.” He chuckles at the tone Keisuke uses, but ends up agreeing. They rejoin Chifuyu at the counter, ready to go back to work with a smile.

Yeah, Kazutora thinks as he ties his hair to get to baking, slow days are the best.
