Chapter Text
“I love you,” These were the three words that Gojo said with tired eyes.
Geto couldn’t help but stare wide-eyed at that statement with a slight blush on his face. He gave one last sheepish smile to his former best friend.
“Then the least you could do is curse me in the end, Satoru.”
His voice was becoming weaker as his vision was starting to become blurry. Geto tried to keep his eyes focused on Satoru but he just couldn’t.
The last thing he remembered seeing was Satoru’s mournful eyes staring at him.
The last thing he felt was Satoru gently moving his bangs away from his face.
The last thing he heard was Satoru simply saying, “Rest now Suguru, it’s okay…”
Suguru let out one last breath before something sharp pierced his heart causing him to pass finally.
Those were his final moments as a human being.
All of that was followed by the regretful thoughts created by Gojo Satoru himself.
‘I’m sorry. This is all my fault. I shouldn’t have let you leave Jujutsu Tech in the first place, all those years ago. We were supposed to be the strongest together. I wasn’t supposed to kill you. I’ll miss you, Suguru. I'm so sorry... Will you ever forgive me?'

The first moments of becoming a special grade curse were odd. He felt like he was underwater for a moment and in the next moment he felt like he was floating. Then felt the taste of those wretched curses on his tongue. He could feel himself consume the inky blackness around him.
The next thing he felt was being pulled upwards and out of what appeared to be shadows.
The first thing he saw was his former best friend. He watched as Satoru’s beautiful blue eyes widened in shock at the realization of his sudden appearance. He tilted his head to the side at the confusion of his expression. Then his eyes shifted to what Satoru was sitting in front of.
Ah. It was his corpse.
He was dead. Or was he?
No. Not anymore.
Now he was a special grade curse, now he could be with Satoru forever.
Satoru cursed him as he asked but that didn’t explain why Satoru looked so shocked.
He looked down and realized he looked wrong. He looked far too curse-like.
His eyes drifted back to how his corpse lay and he tried to copy that appearance.
Satoru watched as the special grade curse’s appearance kept morphing and changing. In the beginning, it was a mess of black inky looking shadows with the silhouette of his former best friend. The curse had razor-sharp teeth and a too-large mouth along with completely blacked-out eyes and four dots under its eyes. The middle of its torso looked to be open and showed the appearance of a rib cage with a large dark cursed orb swirling in the middle.
Slowly the curse’s appearance became more human.
More familiar.
The curse’s hair stayed jet black and became very wispy and animated like the shadows it emerged from. Its eyes became visible and there was that familiar bright purple hue Satoru was so familiar with. Though the whites of its eyes continued to stay black and the four black dots under each eye remained with shimmers of white specks in them.
The curse’s skin became less shadowy and more human. He tried to mimic how his former self’s skin looked but he couldn’t seem to get rid of the undertone of blue from escaping. He also opted to cover himself in clothes that he previously wore. Though this time he gave himself his right arm back. He couldn’t see how his hands looked from where he stood so he tried to copy how Satoru’s hands looked. His hands became more talon-like and faded from his skin tone to gray to black.
Then there were his teeth. He didn’t remember how many teeth he was supposed to have, but he knew he had too many at the moment. He cut down how many teeth he had and tried to get the proportions of his new mouth right. However, he couldn’t help but keep his canine teeth from poking out of his mouth.
He was pleased with how he looked now and the way Satoru’s eyes softened, it seemed like he was pleased too.
He was ethereal, otherworldly, but still as beautiful as Suguru ever was in life.
“₴₳—₮Ø—ⱤɄ…” He tried to speak but that didn’t sound right. That sounded far too curse-like so he tried again.
“S̵̡̟̙͎̔̈́͝ą̶̖͎̙̜̟̫̇̏t̷̰͖͇̟̖̻̼̃̐ô̴̡͇͓ṛ̷̢̧̰̂͊͝ù̷̙̻̝̥̹̉̑…” No that didn’t sound right either.
“Sa…to…ru…” That sounded better. That sounded more human.
“Oh Suguru,” Gojo said with a defeated and somber expression as his hands fell in his lap, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to curse you.”
The curse moved to kneel down in front of his former best friend. It smiled with such love and fondness for its former best friend.
“Tsss…o‘Kay..mm...with Sat…oru now…” The curse then reached up to move some of Gojo’s hair out of his face so he could get a better look at his eyes. He remembered these beautiful eyes and how they adored them.
‘Love is the most twisted curse of all.’ Gojo thought to himself as he took in the appearance of the new special grade curse in front of him. ‘ Oh what have I done…?’

The day special grade Rika Orimoto is dispelled is the same day special grade Suguru Geto is born. No one knew about Geto Suguru being reborn as a curse, not yet at least. He’d like to keep it that way but he had to talk to Shoko about his body.
Gojo turned the corner to Shoko’s office and took in a deep breath before entering. Shoko turned on her chair when she heard him enter. She held a pen and paper in hand.
The paper was Geto’s autopsy report.
“I take it you killed him?”
“Physically yes,” Gojo answered as he closed the door.
Shoko raised a brow at that. “Physically?”
Gojo leaned back against the door with his arms folded. His eyes were downcasted at the floor. Without his glasses or blindfold, he was an open book.
“Gojo what do you mean by physically?” Shoko questioned as her eyes trailed to where Gojo was looking.
He was looking at his shadow which seemed to be moving on its own. That was when she realized what he was talking about.
“Gojo…” Shoko warned right before a shadowy figure emerged from Gojo’s shadow. It took a moment for it to take shape but when it did, she recognized it immediately.
It was Geto Suguru as a special grade curse.
“So he’s a curse now?” Was all Shoko asked as she moved to stand up and walk over to him.
“Yes. He’s a special grade at that too.”
“And you cursed him?”
“It…was an accident.”
“Right, of course. An accident.”
Geto grinned in response as he looked at Shoko. Two very sharp canine fangs shone brightly in the dingy light of the doctor’s office.
“Can he talk?” Shoko asked as Geto tilted his head and looked at her. He seemed to be examining her appearance.
“Sorta…He was talking earlier but I think he’s having some trouble replicating speech. It might be because he just turned into a curse though.”
“Hm…” Shoko examined Geto’s features with narrowed eyes. “Do you feel any pain? Any at all?”
“Ň̴̛̙͍̪́͘ǫ̸̟̟̱̽̃.̴̡̛̟͚̩̬͕̆̂́́̇ …no.”
Shoko nodded slowly before moving to sit back down in her chair. “Well, have you told Principal Yaga or the students?”
“Nope. You’re the first person I’ve told.”
“You know Principal Yaga isn’t going to be happy and the higher-ups are going to freak out when they find out right?” Shoko asked while setting the autopsy report down.
“I’ll handle the higher-ups like I always do and Principal Yaga will eventually get over it.” Gojo explained, “Besides Suguru doesn’t seem hostile like Rika.”
“You say that but if you cursed him then of course he isn’t going to be hostile towards you. You saw how Rika acted when someone tried to attack Yuta, he might react the same way if someone attacks you.”
Geto looked at her with a bit of an annoyed expression on his face.
“What? I’m just sayin’.”
“Rika was a child when she was cursed.” Gojo protested, “If he gets out of hand I’ll handle him.”
Geto turned back to look at Gojo and gave him a playful expression. “Really...? Gonna kil’me ‘gain?”
“That’s not what I said.”
Geto couldn’t help but snicker in response while Shoko watched with an amused expression. The curse definitely acted like Geto.
“So, do you plan on telling the students?”
“If I can help it? No. I don’t want them to know about Suguru. I’m afraid they might start to hate or resent me.”
Geto crossed his arms at that statement. “Probably woulddd…”
“So what do you plan on doing then? Keep him hidden in your shadow?” Shoko asked with an unamused expression.
Gojo shrugged. “I don’t see why not. Besides, I could let him out on missions or when we’re alone.”
“Would you be okay with that Geto?” Shoko asked as she leaned back in her chair.
“Don’t ‘ave much of choice…but I’d be with Satoru so I’d be okay..” He tried to explain while smiling at Gojo.
Gojo slowly nodded and smiled slightly. It seemed like Suguru wanted to stay with him no matter what.
Suddenly the door beside Gojo swooshed open and some of the first-year students peered inside.
“Ah! Shoko there you are.” Yuta said before letting out a relieved sigh, “Could you heal Maki and Inumaki? They got pretty beat up in the fight against Geto.”
Shoko glanced over to where Geto was previously standing only to see that he had vanished. She supposed he went back to hide in Gojo’s shadow. She then looked back to Yuta and the others peering behind him.
“Sure I can heal all of you, come inside.” She motioned as the students made their way inside.
Yuta practically jumped when he saw Gojo. “Ah, Gojo-sensei! I um, didn’t see you there.”
“Have you always been able to be sneaky like that?” Maki asked while leaning against Yuta for support.
Gojo faked a smile as he put on his blindfold, “Sorry, I was just discussing something with Shoko earlier. It’s nothing any of you need to worry about.”
“Oh,” Yuta said as he helped Maki sit down on Shoko’s examination table.
“Anyway, I’ll see you all later and I’ll be sure to get that body to you later, Shoko.” Gojo waved before moving to exit through the other door. The students watched with perplexed expressions as Gojo walked away. Something seemed off about him.
“Is something bothering Gojo-sensei?” Panda questioned curiosity.
“He’s just annoyed because he’s on clean-up duty,” Shoko deadpanned, “Now Maki give me your leg.”
What the students didn’t see was a special grade curse manifesting right beside their teacher as he walked the now empty and ruined halls of Jujutsu Tech. Geto leaned his head on Gojo’s shoulder and reached one of his taloned hands down to grasp Gojo’s hand gently, and to his surprise, the sorcerer let him.
Geto let out a small hum as they continued their trek down the hallway.

.
When nighttime rolled around, Gojo was more exhausted than usual. Maybe it was from the fighting today or the emotional aspect of things but it didn’t matter. Either way, he wanted to get some rest.
His room was dark and it practically consumed any light that came in. He didn’t have windows in his room and he rarely used the lamp or overhead light. So for the most part, his room was dark, quiet, and very cold.
He liked it that way.
At the moment he could be found dozing off on his bed with a weighted blanket covering him along with soft sheets. He was wearing some comfortable pajamas and decided to remove his blindfold for the time being. He tried to hide his face in one of his pillows to muffle the effects of six eyes.
Though he didn’t seem to mind the sharp nails gently brushing through his hair.
Geto was sitting next to him and because curses didn’t need sleep, he decided to use his time to watch over Satoru. Which seemed to ease Gojo's concerns because Satoru’s breathing started to even out.
Geto tilted his head at this realization. Satoru really trusted him enough to fall asleep and keep his infinity down to touch him. It honestly surprised him, he was expecting Satoru to be a bit more guarded but no. He trusted Suguru no matter his form.
Suguru smiled at this thought and continued to gently play with Satoru’s hair.
Things quickly came to a halt when the light from the hallway started to pour into the room. Geto quickly hid in the shadows underneath Gojo’s bed and he began waiting and watching.
Standing in the doorway was Megumi Fushiguro, the ten shadows user.
Geto didn’t like the idea of hiding but he knew Satoru wanted to keep him a secret. For now, at least. Suguru also knew Megumi wasn’t a threat, after all, he did live with Satoru.
He watched from the shadows as Megumi moved back and forth on his feet. It looked like he was observing the area from how his brows furrowed.
Megumi couldn’t help but scowl slightly as he looked into his guardian's room. He knew there was something hiding there but he couldn't pinpoint what it was.
Unfortunately for Megumi, he didn’t have time to play detective any longer because Gojo started to wake up. He moved to sit up on his elbows and rub his eyes but as soon as he did the door slid shut.
Gojo blinked in confusion at the sudden sound of his door being shut followed by the sound of fading footsteps.
He then felt a sudden presence appear next to him. When he turned his head saw Suguru sitting next to him. He was fully manifested and had a small frown on his face.
“Did something happen?” Gojo asked with a yawn.
“That boy came to check on you,” Geto’s eyes narrowed on the door, “I think he sensed my presence and got worried.”
“Mm…that’s not surprising. After all, his technique revolves around shadows.”
“It’s irritating…” Geto muttered before reaching out to gently card his fingers through Satoru’s hair, which the sorcerer allowed.
Things were quiet between the two for a few moments. Everything aside from the purr-like sound Suguru was giving off.
Then Gojo’s phone lit up with a notification. Gojo shut his eyes tightly at the sudden brightness in the room and Geto reached over to grab it. He read over the message and a faint smile crept up his face. He then clicked off Gojo’s phone and set it facedown on his nightstand.
“Who’s messaging me now...?”
“No one. It was just a reminder about today’s date.”
“Today’s date…?” Gojo asked while peering at the curse through his now disheveled hair.
“It’s December 25th,” Geto smiled gently, “Merry Christmas, Satoru.”
“Oh…” Gojo blinked tiredly at that realization. “Well, Merry Christmas to you too, Suguru.”
That same purring noise from before could be heard again but Gojo didn’t seem to mind. He was already drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
