Chapter Text
INSANITY.
An EMOTION that is rarely given to entities in a fight. This emotion is a mixture of more intense emotions of SAD, ANGER, and HAPPY. If placed on a continuum, INSANITY would be the fourth and final tier of EMOTIONS.
Massive increase to DEF, ATK, and HIT RATE.
Very situational. Individuals who can experience INSANITY must likewise feel strong emotions of sadness, anger, and happiness.

MARI watched in disbelief as her brother jumped off the edge of the roof. She watched with shock, numbness, and sadness as SUNNY ended his run. She wished that this wasn’t real. She wished that SUNNY still had the strength to overcome OMORI.
But…nothing changed. No hallucinations, sudden disappearances, not even anyone came out of the door behind her.
MARI went towards the bottom of the giant building, dreading to see the sight of her lost brother. She found disorder in her dissent. Nurses and doctors were running outside, some with equipment to try to help the poor boy, and the rest of the people MARI came across were walking towards the windows and gossippin about what exactly was going on.
MARI felt terrible walking down the levels. SUNNY didn’t deserve to die. As terrible of a mistake he did, it was an accident. He didn’t mean any ill will towards her on that day. He was not a murder, just a boy who messed up. Big time. He didn’t deserve to suffer for 4 whole years. The trauma him and BASIL went through.
Oh…right. The others. Our friends. MARI made a sight detour on the floors above to check up on them in BASIL’s hospital bed. The room was empty. They all went to go see what was going on. But… wait. If all of them left, including BASIL, that must mean that they saw…
Such dreadful thoughts clouded MARI’s mind as she made her way down the last few floors. She silently wished that this wasn’t real.
She saw a crowd of people gathering at the entrance. This wasn’t real.
There was a ton of commotion. This wasn’t real.
The people that brought equipment earlier stared in shock, not using their tools in any capacity. This wasn’t real.
She saw KEL, AUBREY, HERO, and BASIL. This wasn’t real.
She saw SUNNY.
This was real.
Words cannot describe how shattered he looked. Physically, his body was almost completely mangled. His body was twisted in so many unnatural directions. His bandages were soaked red. There was an increasing puddle below him. MARI could swear she saw exposed bones. His hospital gown was splattered and soaked likewise with the bandages. His hair was messy. MARI could see everything. She was frozen. She couldn’t look away, no matter how much she willed herself to follow her muscle and not her mind. She teared up. She walked forward and knelt in front of SUNNY.
She took hold of SUNNY’s hand.
“Please… please SUNNY…” MARI wept.
She heard noises from her friends behind her. HERO was crying too. BASIL was the same. AUBREY was struggling to hold tears, with sniffles and soft denials to accompany them. KEL was silent.
MARI didn’t know what to do. She just knelt in front of SUNNY and silently prayed that he would go somewhere better for his afterlife. Somewhere where he could be happy. Somewhere where he can find closure and forgiveness.
MARI stared into SUNNY’s eyes, hoping to find some semblance of light in them. What she saw was…
Wait…
What she saw was…
Black eyes. Black dull, dark, empty eyes.
She recognized them. Back when she tried to communicate with SUNNY in HEADSPACE. But, she wasn’t technically talking to SUNNY in that instance. She was talking to… OMORI.
Yes. OMORI. OMORI had those eyes. He looked like SUNNY. He had the same neutral face. OMORI…
These were OMORI’s eyes. This was OMORI. He and SUNNY looked the same.
OMORI was controlling SUNNY.
MARI silently stopped crying and stopped staring at OMORI.
OMORI did this. He made SUNNY jump off the roof. He made SUNNY die. He made the friends’ suffering worse. Now her friends will live on in agony for the rest of their lives, seeing them lose the person they finally got back. And because of how distraught they were thanks to MARI, their lives might not be that long…
OMORI did this.
OMORI killed SUNNY.
OMORI killed her brother.
OMORI.
He would go back to headspace after he finally dies here. Then he’ll live the rest of his life at HEADSPACE.
Why did he deserve that fantasy world? What did he do to earn that perfect world?
W h y d o e s h e e a r n t h a t a f t e r w h a t h e d i d t o S U N N Y ?
H e n e e d s t o s u f f e r a s w e l l .
OMORI finally closed their eyes. MARI stared at them menacingly for a moment before getting up. She turned around and saw SUNNY’s friends. They were sobbing and trying to comfort each other behind him. OMORI left a world destroyed. Beyond repair.
MARI was ready to go to HEADSPACE. She lamented SUNNY for a moment. Holding him while softly cradling him.
“Don’t worry SUNNY,” MARI whispered. “I will make sure that OMORI’s punishment is served.”
MARI put down her brother and whispered to her other friends. “You too guys.”
MARI walked away from the large crowd and started her journey into SUNNY’s HEADSPACE. Despite SUNNY being gone, his SPACES still remained. They have overgrown him after all.
MARI was ready to perform her final task. She wanted to make sure that OMORI received his punishment. She hated OMORI. She wanted to see his world suffer along with her own.
She felt many things.
She felt MISERABLE. The people she loved most in the world were gone.
She felt FURIOUS. That OMORI… he did all of this. He deserved to die. Not SUNNY.
MARI envisioned what she would do when she got to SUNNY’s HEADSPACE. She thought of how to punish the boy that killed her brother. Everyone’s pain, everyone’s sorrow, everyone’s emptiness… she would share it all. She would force OMORI to take in every part of it. And when she was done, she would destroy HEADSPACE.
MARI was excited about what she would do.
MARI couldn’t stop being a MANIAC.
MARI became INSANE.
