Chapter Text
“This is definitely the greatest movie of all time.”
“And that’s how you just proved that you are the dumbest one.”
Gerard and Lionel were having a fight during lunch about what was the greatest movie of their generation. In front of them, on the other side of the table, was Neymar, reading his book while sipping his coffee, half listening to their conversation.
“What is the best movie then ?” Gerard asks, tired of Leo contradicting him.
“Interstellar.” He answers with an irritated voice, as if it was an obvious answer.
Neymar tries really hard. He tries really hard to keep his mouth shut, to just finish his lunch and go, but something, something inside him burns his lips.
“Gotta give it to him, Gerard.” Neymar says while turning the page of his book. He feels the eyes of both of them focusing on him right away.
“What do you mean by that ?”
Neymar smiles at himself. He closes his book to give a dramatic effect and looks at Lionel with the most beautiful smile he could give, all teasing and I'm smiling to bring you down.
“It’s probably the only science knowledge he has.” Neymar says as a statement.
Lionel arches one eyebrow and fully turns toward him. He sure was not the smartest person but having Neymar bringing him down just because he was a sports teacher always irritated him in some way. He did not enjoy knowing that Neymar thought he was dumb. “And what’s yours, clever head ?” He retorts.
“The Freedom Writers.” He admits, shrugging his shoulders.
“Yeah, very original for an English teacher.” Lionel says before picking up his coffee and getting out of the professor room.
Neymar watches him go. He takes a deep breath and goes back to his book.
“I love days like this.” He whispers to himself.
But Gerard hears him and becomes curious. “Like what ?”
Neymar smiles. “When Lionel is mad.”
The time to return to class came quickly. Neymar returned to his classroom and brought his students into it. Today was the day before their exams, and some of his students were stressed. They went to see him at the end of the hour, with a big smile on their face, leaning over his desk.
“Sir, I’m really, really worried about tomorrow. Do you have any advice ?” One of his students says, tilting her head to the side.
“Well, I think that sleeping early is the most adequate. And try to do some exercise, it reveals stress.”
His student, who was named Sara, turned around to her best friend with a sheepish smile. “I think I’m gonna need mister Messi on this one.” She giggles. “Oh, speaking of him, he talked about you the other day. Do you want to know what he said ?” She asks with a brilliant look, showing that she was eagerly waiting to tell him the gossip. Neymar only says go on , interested to know how Lionel talked about him to their students. “He said that if we did not work well in high school, we would finish like you.”
This fucking empty head, how could he-
He gathers himself. Vengeance was a dish best served cold, and it was not the first time he had to deal with that brainless teacher. “Well, tell him this…” He starts, getting all the intention from his two students.
The next day, when Lionel was watching his students run around the pitch, two of them came to him more excited than ever.
“Mister Santos told us that Interstellar is dumb people’s favorite movie.”
Lionel got red of anger and swore to poison Neymar’s food the next time they ate lunch in the common class.
