Stelle laid in her bed staring at the ceiling, her mind wandering between topic and topic until it landed on Natasha. Now that she thought about it her behavior the past few days had been confusing. She didn’t know what had gotten into her. She was usually very good at keeping a level head, or at least pretending like she was level-headed, but recently she's found it hard to keep her composure.
Especially around Natasha.
She was always asking her to do things and for some reason she never minded, and for some reason she would agree before even knowing what she was agreeing to. And even on the slim chance, Stelle was leaning towards saying “No.” Nat would always do that smile of hers and go, “You’d do it for me wouldn’t you?” and just like that Stelle was putty in Natasha’s hands.
Stelle only had two conclusions as to why she was acting like this. 1) She had a crush. 2) Natasha had some sort of power similar to Kafka’s.
—Though the former seemed more likely than the latter.
So what now? Does she keep running to Nat like a puppy begging for a treat?
Actually, that doesn’t sound terrible. It’s not like I hate the idea of being praised by Nat. To be honest I’d prefer tha- No. I’m getting distracted that is beside the point.
Now that she was on the topic of love, Stelle remembered that when she was on the Xianzhou Loufo, she saw a ton of books on how to woe women.
And coincidentally, Stelle happened to buy one for a souvenir. Stelle grabbed the book from her bookshelf. She flipped to the third chapter titled, “Words are powerful.” She started reading, “The way to a woman’s heart is through words. Women fall at a guy's feet with the way he phrases his sentences. One-liners and pick-up lines are great ways to make women fall for you, especially those of older age, if that’s your type. Here are some examples, ‘I hope you know CPR because you just took my breath away’”
Stelle pondered, considering Nat was a doctor it didn’t seem too bad.
She carried on reading, “Make sure you compliment their looks too, Ex. ‘If you were a tree, you’d be an evergreen, because I bet you look this good year-round.’”
Stelle raised her eyebrow.
Would Nat even like this stuff?
Stelle was still skeptical, but she still thought she should give it a chance.
She opened the book back up and kept reading, “Doctors will LOVE these next few pick-up lines. ‘Are you my appendix? I have a gut feeling I should take you out. […]”
That made Stelle a bit more intrigued. So for the next two days, Stelle would continue to binge the rest of this book.
So here Stelle was 3 days later, impatiently staring at the contact on her phone named “Natasha”, waiting for the inevitable moment Nat would text her. After finishing the book Stelle couldn’t seem to calm down she yearned to use what she learned.
And as if Nat read her mind she got a text, it read;
N> Sorry to bother you, Stelle. You see Clara had asked me to make her a bear similar to the one Hook had, but I want to make it special for her. Do you have anything from your travels that I could substitute for eyes?
As Stelle started typing Natasha sent another message.
N> It’s not too much of a bother, is it? You’d do it for me?
Stelle tried holding back a smile because she could already tell what face Natasha was making behind the phone.
S> Of course. Always for you.
After rummaging through her room a bit she found these gems she got from the Xianzhou Loufo and headed back to Jarilo VI. Stelle was giddy the whole time she was making her way to Nat’s place. She had been practicing the perfect pick-up lines and how she was going to do it.
Her plan was when she got there she’d hand her the gems and go, “I got these gems, but they could never outshine you.” Then she’d grab her hand and kiss it. After further reading the book it said it’s important to have body confidence so that's why she decided to add those motions. It seemed like a foolproof way to get Natasha to fall for her, but this was simply the first step.
Because of how deep in thought Stelle was she hadn’t even realized she was just standing at Nat’s doorway.
Stelle straightened her posture, fixed her hair, pulled down her skirt a bit, and cleared her throat before knocking. She knocked twice lightly until she heard the click! of the doorknob.
As the door opened, Stelle almost let out a gasp.
“Hey, Stelle.” Natasha led Stelle inside. “I’m excited to see what you brought!” Natasha clasped her hands together and smiled.
Seeing Natasha smile almost threw Stelle off her feet.
“Uhh..” Stelle store blankly while trying not to let her blush show. “Oh! I uhm- I brought some gems from the Xianzhou Loufo, but they could never outshine you.” Stelle shoved the gems into Natasha’s hand awkwardly.
Natasha showed no reaction at first which made Stelle sweat, but after a moment Natasha giggled.
“Sorry for laughing Stelle, you’re just very cute. Thank you though, I could say the same thing about you.” She smiled and took Stelle’s hand in hers. “I’ll have something to give you in return later, thank you for your help.”
Stelle nodded her head and walked away from the door swiftly. She thought about the interaction she just had.
Yeah, she definitely nailed that.
