Chapter 1: An introduction, kind of?

Chapter Text

Being a demigod had its perks. And its cons, but we can get into that later. My name is Eudora Galanos. The name Eudora means “generous gift” which pretty much sums up how my mom thinks of me. You see, my mom is the Greek goddess Selene, the goddess of the moon. She isn’t as well known as goddesses like Athena or Aphrodite, but she does control the movements of the sun and the moon, so I guess that's pretty important. My dad is mortal, that's pretty much all I have to say about him. If you think of an average Joe, my dad will probably come to mind. He has a boring job at an insurance company, (believe me, I know it's boring, I can’t exactly go to my moms work to take your kid to work).
My mom fell in love with my dad, his name is Andrew, when she was young. Well, young for a Greek god, my dad was 22. They got engaged 3 years later, and later, when my mother was wondering why she suddenly fell ill and nauseous, and found out that she was with child. A boy with whom she was going to name Andre, meaning “courageous”, but the gods found out that she was pregnant out of wedlock, and, using some divine power or something, made the baby stillborn. Selene was devastated, but did not put up a fight. Instead my parents got married and worked on trying to have another child. After about a year and then some, she finally got pregnant with me. I was born healthy and alive, and I was named Eudora, because I was a gift to my parents, the best thing that had ever happened to them, is what they say.
