Hold on

Summary:

What if Rayla was successful? What if she killed Claudia and Viren? What if they had a new battle to face? Returning the health of Rayla might be a bigger challenge, but the emotional wounds might be even more difficult to face.

Chapter 1: Callum

Chapter Text

I was meditating with Ibis when it happened, I was finally at peace after the last 5 months without Rayla, still once a week I have dreams of her being killed or dying, but at least it's better than waking up in cold sweat every night, I was both angry at her and wondering if that night would be the last night I ever saw her violet eyes, felt her lips on mine, held her, felt her soft white hair on my cheek, the moment of peace was only for a quick second, then I felt a pain on my side, no not just my side, my whole body, I saw a dim sight of a meadow and then I heard Rayla's voice, her accent was thick and fumbling, This is a good spot to die in, at least Claudia and Viren are also dead, I bolted up "Callum, what's wrong? You didn't have another weird vision did you?"

I didn't hear him, I was racing out the door, down the stairs, "Callum what's wrong?" I heard Ez ask as I whizzed by, "Callum, slow down, you need to tell us whats going-" I ran past Soren, down the hall, until I saw the mountain cliff, "MANUS, PLUMA, VOLANTIS!!!" I screamed, the wings came out and I flew down to The Thunderfall, I ran until I saw the meadow from my vision, the air was bitter in the cold December, and as I suspected Rayla was there, at least I thought it was Rayla, the heavy amount of blood on the side of her jumpsuit and in her hair made her hard to recognize. "Rayla, Rayla, please wake up, please, you have to be okay." I pulled her up from her position against the tree, she coughed "Callum?" She asked her violet eyes blinking open, barely, "Do you think you can hold onto me?" I asked she weakly nodded. I restated the spell and she held onto my back.
