Summary
May Lawson is the best friend of the Golden Trio. On the night of the Battle of the Ministry of Magic, she learns of the most important secret of her life. The secret that knocked the ground out from under her feet. She is frightened, upset and stunned. She does not know what to do. Together with her friends, she tries to live a normal life again, until one day she is dropped Tom Riddle’s diary into a flooded women’s toilet. At Hogwarts in 1943, she tries to understand how Tom Riddle became the Dark Lord, find his weaknesses, and then turn that knowledge against him and help Harry Potter win this battle. May still doesn't know what it's like to be so close to evil that one day she catches herself thinking that it's hard to resist evil, and it's even harder to choose a side.
