Work Text:

9:00 AM.

Olruggio never jumped faster out of his bed.

Finally, today was the day. Olruggio would finally see Qifrey again after 2 long years.

It may not sound like much time, but when you get used to the company of someone who has been with you most of your life, even one week without them feels weird, like something is missing. Or, rather, someone is missing.

And so was his case with Qifrey, being the saddest part to not be able to celebrate their coming-of-age together. But as they say, better late than never!

Olruggio was so impatient that he couldn't stop thinking what they should do together first — if Qifrey hopefully wasn't tired enough to go home and rest, which would be the most likely thing to happen but Oru wanted to be optimistic.

He checked his clock. It was already 10 AM. When is he gonna come out? And right after that thought, he appeared. Olruggio couldn't contain himself and immediately threw himself to hug Qifrey.

"I missed you too, Oru."

They stayed hugging in silence for a minute or two, because in the end all they needed was to have each other physically. As long as the presence of the other was felt, words weren't required.

"By the way, Oru, what happened with your ex? You had recently written in a letter that you had broken up with her, but you never got into the details."

"Oh, uh... Things happened. It just didn't work out." He hated lying and Qifrey knew that more than anyone else, but it wasn't as if he could tell Qifrey that the actual reason was his best-friend-I-have-accidentally-fallen-in-love-with. Although she was pretty and nice and put an effort so that the relationship could work out, in the end it turned out that it couldn't be with anyone else but him.

Qifrey just said "I see." Olruggio guessed he noticed the lack of willingness to talk about it, and, luckily for him, Qifrey isn't the pushy type, so he probably just let it be. "Anyways, let's go home so I can drop all my things and then talk some more."

Thus, Qifrey followed Olruggio to his atelier, where they would live together until Qifrey could find some place to move to since he had nowhere to go for now.

Once they finished rearranging Qifrey's personal things and the atelier's management, Olruggio noticed that it was already 7 PM so they decided to leave it there for the day and spend the rest of the day chilling.

They sat across on the tea table, facing each other now that they had the chance to do so. First, they talked about Qifrey's 2-year-period in the Tower of Books: how the people in there were, what Qifrey did, how Qifrey spent his free time there as anyone in the Tower is banned from leaving until their studies are finished, and many more things. In the end, one thing led to another and after having dinner, they started to drink some beers Olruggio had decided to buy just in case.

Because it hasn't been long since they legally became adults, Olruggio hoped Qifrey had a low tolerance to alcohol just like he did. However, unexpectedly Qifrey actually had a good tolerance — or more like Qifrey knew how to control himself with alcohol while Olruggio didn't. Therefore, while Qifrey was as normal as ever (or so thought Olruggio), the black-haired one was kind of tipsy after half a glass of beer.

"By the way, Oru. This might sound weird but I suppose you already had your first kiss, right?"

"Huh? Well, yeah, if we can say that giving a peck to my neighbour next door because I lost a bet counts."

"No no, Oru. You know what I mean with a kiss." Olruggio noticed Qifrey was embarrassed not only by his subtle blush but also by the way he was avoiding to specify what he meant with that –a very Qifrey thing that Olruggio was already used to.

"Oh, a French kiss? Yeah, I did. The first was kinda recent since it was with my ex and that was around... 4 months ago, I think?" Olruggio took another long sip. Whether it was because of his words, the fact that Olruggio was getting more out of himself or any other reason, Qifrey laughed uncomfortably with a forced smile.

"And, uh... How do you do it?"

Olruggio didn't even know what to say. He had made out with his ex-girlfriend several times, yet how could someone explain something as instinctual as kissing? He fell deep in thought, humming with his eyes closed and one hand on his chin.

"I don't think there's a way to, like… do it. I mean, it's just a thing during the moment and you don't think that much about it so I don't really know what to say. Why the question?"

Qifrey became redder and turned his gaze away from Oru.

“It’s that, uh… Since I was surrounded by books, in my free time I would almost always read, right? And when I say that I started to read all types of books, I really mean it. I read many with romantic tropes and in some of them the tension would escalate, you know… but it was confusing to me like I didn’t fully understand the grasp of ‘deeper kisses’, you know? Like their reactions, why they’d say they were out of breath and things like that.”

“So basically, you’re still a virgin.”

Qifrey laughed, and this time it was a full-hearted one. Olruggio felt satisfied with himself. It was good to see that no matter how distant they were, things between them would never change –though at the same time it was a little scary in case Qifrey ever decided to abandon him, but now wasn’t the time to think about that.

"I can't deny that, but I'm still curious about what it means. Not that I'll find it out soon though, I'm not that attractive enough to get someone's attention and-”

Qifrey never got to end the sentence. He got so lost in thought while saying out loud whatever his brain was thinking of that he didn't come back to Earth until he suddenly felt his face grabbed by warm hands with calloused fingers; Oru was bending over the table, extending his arms from the other side of the table.

"Just shut up, okay? You're curious?" Olruggio let go of Qifrey’s face momentarily, got up from his seat and sat down right next to him as he grabbed his face again. “Well, lemme help you. If that's okay with you, of course.”

Olruggio knew what he was doing. He was perfectly aware. The only difference from his sober self is that he doesn't feel fear or anxiety this time. He was making a move, so what? What's the worst that could happen? He knew Qifrey would be honest with him and in case he wasn't, Oru would notice if he was uncomfortable.

They’ve been friends for so long that Oru could remember by heart Qifrey’s different expressions. And this time, he could perfectly tell it was a rather puzzled one, not expecting his Oru to do something like this.

However, Olruggio knew that had Qifrey felt uncomfortable, he’d already have done something to put some distance in the middle, which wasn’t the case at all. That was a good signal… right? And so, after taking off his glasses, he grabbed again Qifrey’s face and got closer to him.

“I- We’ll go slow, okay? Just… trust me,” whispered.

Qifrey jumped a little when he felt Oru’s breath on his lips, but he did nothing. Nothing except closing his remaining eye.

Qifrey may not have known exactly what to do, but it didn’t matter to Oru. Not at all. He would not throw away this chance so easily, and even less because of such stupidity as lack of experience.

(It’s not as if he had spent years wishing for a moment like this to happen or something like that…)

Oru, still holding Qifrey as if he was the most valuable yet fragile thing in the world, turned his face a little so he could have a better grasp, closed his eyes and finally clashed their lips together.

They spent a short time like that so that Qifrey could calm down a little and get used to this, and then it happened: Olruggio licked Qifrey’s lips, and he obeyed by opening his mouth.

It was soft, only touching the tip of their tongues.

Olruggio lowered his hand to Qifrey’s nape, which made Qifrey realize — or, rather remember thanks to all the time he spent reading scenes like this — that he was supposed to do something with his hands. Therefore, he grabbed the back of Oru’s head with his right hand and his jaw with his left one.

Because of that, their bodies were getting closer and closer up to the point where their chests were touching, deepening the kiss at the same time.

With his brain completely fogged by his desires, Olruggio bit Qifrey’s inferior lip, which made the white haired let out a moan.

Oh my God.

If Olruggio were sober maybe he would’ve stopped right there before things escalated even more. However, they were both drunk and secretly horny for each other (though they didn’t know that). So of course they kept going and he did nothing at all to stop it.

But Qifrey did.

He didn’t say anything for some time as he was catching air, but he never looked away.

It was driving Olruggio insane.

Then, as if he had just realized what happened, avoided Olurggio’s gaze and covered his mouth with one of his hands. For a moment there, Olruggio thought he saw him blushing.

“I think I need some sleep.”

Olruggio wanted- needed more, but he realized he was already pushing the limits so he let Qifrey go.

Qifrey was driving Olruggio insane.
