Work Text:

“You okay, Todoroki-kun?”

Shouto looks up to see Midoriya hovering over him. “I’m fine,” he says, taking his friend’s hand and letting him help so that they’re both standing. Shouto brushes the grass stains off his pants, before the two head back to the dorms, drinking plenty of water to hydrate themselves. They go up to Midoriya’s room, like they usually do after an evening of training, to work on their homework. It’s a pleasant and normal Saturday night as usual.

Until Midoriya falls asleep. Shouto, who could sleep anywhere without a thought, is already passed out on the brightly colored All Might sheets, a small trail of drool pooling on the pillow beneath his face. This is normal, and typically Midoriya would laugh, wake his friend up, and they would go to their own beds for the night.

But this time, Midoriya falls asleep, body laying on top of Shouto. It’s peaceful, and when he wakes up at three in the morning Shouto is confused, for a moment, by his lack of nightmares. It makes sense when he realizes Midoriya is clinging to him, needy and tight. Shouto’s lips quirk, almost in a smile. He wants to stay like this for much longer. It’s finally peaceful, in his mind and in the air around him. A rare enough occurrence for someone training all his life to be a hero, rare enough for someone living with the dorm mates he has, and rare enough for a teenager at all.

He fades in and out of sleep for a couple of hours, just enjoying the gentle breathing of Midoriya. Around seven o’clock he starts to feel a stirring in his bladder. He ignores it, for now at least. It’s fine, he just wants to have time with his friend.

Crush, if he’s being honest with himself (which he is not).

But when there’s nothing to do but lay and enjoy the peace, it gets hard to ignore the biological urges. He starts to flex his toes, biting his lip, counting his breaths. Anything he can to keep his mind off of the need to pee, as long as he doesn’t wake Midoriya. His friend rarely sleeps in, and he must be tired to still be sleeping now. So Shouto wants to do his best to allow him to rest.

And, of course, he wants to continue to cuddle.

“Todoroki-kun?”

Midoriya’s voice snaps him out of his thoughts. “Mido-”

“Hmm, Todoroki-kun, why are you a cat?”

Oh. He’s sleeping. Shouto’s eyes flit around the room, looking for anything that could distract him from his situation. But the urge only grows, and soon his hips are nearly shaking.

“Todoroki-kun?”

He almost ignores it, assuming Midoriya is simply talking in his sleep again. But then the other boy shuffles, pulling himself off of Shouto’s lap. “Todoroki-kun, what’s wrong?”

Shouto doesn’t answer, rushing to the bathroom instead. The release of his bladder, and thankfully in the toilet and not on Midoriya, feels so good, so relieving. He’s almost embarrassed when he goes back to the bed to grab his things.

“You could have woken me up,” Midoriya says with a small laugh. “If I knew you had to pee I wouldn’t be upset.”

“Guess I just got greedy,” Shouto says with a shrug. “I’ll see you this afternoon, Midoriya?”

Emerald eyes blink in confusion, but nothing comes from it. “Yeah, see you later, Todoroki-kun.”
