Maid to Love You

Summary:

If Sonny were to count how many times he’s seen Uki in a maid dress, he can use up all five fingers of a single hand. Which is not that many considering he has 20 fingers in total including his toes, but it’s weird how that has happened five times.

(AKA the five times Sonny has encountered Uki in a maid dress. That’s it, that’s the plot.)

Notes:

The title is so freaking cringe but fuck it, we ball! Woohoo!

Hi, it's me, your resident procrastinator. I'm back with another Violisko (surprise!) which was actually written on last year's Maid Day. Crazy, I know. I let it marinate for one (1) year because I missed the timing to post it and I wasn't quite happy with how rushed it was but I still liked how it turned out. I just realized earlier when it turned 00:00 my time that it's Maid Day again (already, holy crap) so I thought: why not post this one now?

So here you go, food for the starving community. Again, this was written one year ago so how I portrayed them here may be a little OOC and possibly just as cringe as the title but fuck it, we ball (2). May this fic I wrote like I was possessed last year and posted on a whim fueled by 1 AM adrenaline a year later be enough to feed you for the (checks calendar) next 6 months! Happy Maid Day, fellow deranged people!

Work Text:

  1.

It was school festival season, and for whatever reason, high schoolers are always very competitive in these kind of things.

Like, the reward for winning The Best Class Attraction is not even that much—just a trophy that will be passed around every year and the pride and joy of being the number one. But then again, that’s the high school experience after all, right? The things you must experience at the height of your youth?

Well… to be honest, Sonny didn’t really get it. He just went along with whatever his classmates want and ended up being assigned to the props team instead. Which was okay, since he didn’t want to be a front-liner in their class’ cafe anyway. He only needed to lend a hand in the prop-making, setting up the furnitures and decorations, and that was it. A pretty good deal, he thinks!

His position allows him to partake in one of the things that one must do in a festival like this—visiting other classes’ cafe. Alban was the most excited one among their ragtag group of friends, he even memorized every class’ themed cafe and stalls. He was particularly the most excited about the maid cafe in class 2-5, though.

Sonny only went along because he was hungry, he swears. If going with Alban’s meticulously planned route meant that he could get some delicious food as well, he was willing to see what other classes have in store for them.

What he didn’t expect was for them to come face to face with Uki who was all dressed up in a frilly maid uniform. Classic black and white, frilly aprons, short puffy sleeves that stopped in the middle of his upper arm, frilly lace wrist cuffs, the short skirt stopping just above his knees, complete with the black cat ears headband and white thigh high socks and all that. The outfit looked exactly like what a high schooler’s budget could get you, or maybe it was rented from a cosplay renting place? Either way, it was… exactly what you’d expect from a high school cultural festival on a budget and it was probably meant to make the boys in class 2-5 look silly wearing it, but still…

Sonny couldn’t help but think that Uki looked good in it.

The four of them—Sonny, Alban, Yugo, and Uki—stood there, staring silently at each other, with bewilderment on the three dudes’ face and challenge in Uki’s heterochromatic eyes. The silence was only broken by Fulgur (also in a maid uniform, to Alban and Yugo’s horror) telling them to not block the entrance. Before they could say anything else, the grey haired boy had sauntered away towards other customers that needed his assistance, and they were left with an exasperated (and gorgeous) Uki Violeta.

It took Uki several more moments before he sighed and got into character—a smiley, pretty maid, clutching his tray closer to his chest as he did a little bow before saying “welcome to our cafe, dear customers! Please, do follow me this way.”

Uki led them to an empty seat for three, the unnaturally pasted on eye smile not budging from his face until all of them sat down, prim and proper and in shock, still. He placed down some (surprisingly and impressively) hand-drawn menus on the table and spoke up again in an artificially sweet tone.

“Here are our menus. Do take your time picking and once you’re ready, just call on whoever’s available,” the smile on his face vanished the moment he finished the script, though, morphing into the deadpan expression he usually wears when he’s unimpressed with something, and in the most deadpan voice ever, he hissed “fuck you all. Bye, bitches.”

And then he left to go somewhere else, God knows where. Sonny and the rest were too busy processing the surprise of seeing their two best friends in maid outfits, and blankly staring at the menu Uki placed in front of them.

Sonny doesn’t know about the others, but perhaps to him, that day, something in the universe shifted…

  1.

When Sonny encountered a very unimpressed Uki dressed in a maid outfit (again) during their yearbook photoshoot, he… he didn’t know what to do.

Uki was wearing the exact same outfit as the one he wore back in the cultural festival, but this time, he was also wearing a wig for some reason. It was a long one, reaching just above his elbows, see-through fringe propped up with a hair roller to maintain the volume, and it was dark brown, almost black in color. The hairstyle itself was the typical straight-hair hairstyle with the ends curled inwards, framing Uki’s already pretty face prettily, and the color made his colorful eyes look more emphasized than usual.

Uki was standing near a vending machine, grumpily sipping on a can of a fruity-flavored drink. Something about his face looked… different, and it was only when Sonny was standing right next to him did he see the thin layer of make up on his friend’s face, the most striking aspects of it being the burgundy eyeshadow, eyeliner wings in attempt to make Uki’s already cat-like eyes look even more cat-like, and the vibrant, cherry-colored liptint that made his face look brighter. Not that Sonny knew anything about it back then—he just recognized that Uki was wearing make up and thought that Uki looked pretty. Prettier than usual, even.

And so he relayed to Uki, who almost spat out his drink both from the shock of finally noticing Sonny’s presence and how sudden the compliment was.

(He probably didn’t, but if Sonny noticed that the blush on Uki’s face looked even more vibrant and visible than before, he didn’t say anything.)

Later on, Sonny found out that Uki lost a batsu game against Enna and the dare was, as you can see, wearing the maid dress for their yearbook photoshoot. To commemorate the one year anniversary of Uki winning the Prettiest Crossdesser Award in the cultural festival, she said. Go crazy on the yearbook before you go crazy because of your entrance exams, their homeroom teacher said. Sonny remembers laughing as Uki complained that the teacher should have encouraged not doing things you will regret before the exams instead, since they will receive the yearbook on the graduation day and not beforehand. He doesn’t understand their logic, he said.

If it were up to Sonny’s own selfish opinion, he’s glad that Uki decided to push through with the dare, since he stood out so much in the yearbook among everyone else who simply brought some props and not a whole-ass cosplay (which was forced onto him by the dare instigator herself, Uki explained. He didn’t ask for the wig and the make up, okay?! She was the one who put it on him!). The dead look on Uki’s face as he posed with Sonny’s NERF gun made him look like a badass maid in the final product, and when Sonny told him so, Uki simply scoffed and turned his nose up.

“You know what they say,” the purple haired boy had said smugly with his lips pursed, though he looked like every bit of a boy who was holding himself back from smiling a big, genuine, smile, “go big or go home!”

  1.

The next time Sonny saw Uki after graduation was during their university student days.

They weren’t in the same university, no, but they were only several metro stations apart. Sonny’s classmate was the one who suggested they visit Uki’s university’s festival and Sonny just went along, not really expecting to see Uki at all due to how packed the festival was and he also had no clue where Uki would be.

In the end, they met anyway, even though it was… a bit unpleasant.

Sonny was just thinking about how nostalgic it was to see the group of classmates he was with getting excited over the student-run cafe-esque booth with maids as the waitresses. It reminded him of Alban, who wailed a why didn’t you tell me about it sooner?! out loud when Sonny told him about it after he went home from the festival. They sat down on one of the available seats and one of the students dressed as a maid walked over, you know the drill.

At first, it was fine. The girl taking their order was smiling a genuine smile as she jotted it all down on her memopad, and his companions were having fun.

But then one of them made a creepy comment about her, the other one laughed at it, and Sonny could visibly see the girl’s smile drop into a strained one.

Before Sonny could even say anything to his classmates, though, a familiar voice spoke up right next to him in a mocking yet polite tone.

“Oh dear, what is going on over here, dear customer?”

It was a voice that Sonny could recognize anywhere.

Light and airy, undoubtedly belonging to a masculine person in contrast to the other maids’ more feminine ones, full of confidence and you can immediately tell that this person has zero tolerance towards bullshit.

Uki.

Sonny turned towards him so fast, it was a miracle that he didn’t break his neck.

Lo and behold, his best friend from high school was there, all dressed up in a maid dress similar to the girl next to him (with a wig that looked similar to the one he wore in high school, but platinum blonde this time) and standing menacingly with his arms crossed.

Sonny took one look at Uki’s eyes and felt chills running down his spine. The hardened glare was one that Sonny recognized Uki would always have when he’s genuinely angry or being protective of his friends.

It seemed like Uki didn’t notice Sonny’s presence right next to him, as he proceeded to crush Sonny’s companions with his words while Sonny… simply stared in awe.

“I was passing by and heard you saying something unpleasant about my co-worker over here. My, my, such uncouth behavior in our establishment! Unbelievable.” his eyes widen in faux shock, one hand dramatically placed above his mouth. “Dear customer, I fear that you have made my co-worker feel uncomfortable. I have also heard complaints from the tables nearby. If you keep acting like that, we might have to kick you out, you know?”

Uki dramatically fluttered his eyelashes before putting a hand on his forehead, dramatized despair written across his face.

“Oh, such tragedy. What a shame! Losing another source of income! Oh, woe is me! This is the fifth one tonight!” he pretended to wipe a tear as he gently placed a hand on his co-worker’s shoulder, the girl no longer looking uncomfortable but instead very entertained, “but fear not, my friend, for many more people will replace them and we will not lose profit!”

His dramatic speeches said out loud with evident sarcasm made everyone else laugh in amusement, drowning out the flustered and angry comments from Sonny’s classmates as they tried to defend themselves to no avail.

“Let’s go, Sonny, I can’t believe they would do that to their customers. And having a man crossdress too? Disgusting.” one of his classmates spat as they stood up—the mention of his name causing Uki to finally look at Sonny, who was still staring at Uki.

Without taking his eyes off Uki, who squinted at him suspiciously, Sonny smiled brightly and said, “nah, I’m good! I’ll stay here with Uki.”

The chorus of what?! and you know that guy?! Are you into that shit?! from his classmates were deliberately ignored by him. Uki, sensing an opening for another clapback, simply laid his left hand around Sonny’s shoulders, leaning his bodyweight a little on the blonde who immediately readied an arm around Uki’s legs to steady him anytime. Uki’s co-worker stared respectfully, while Uki dropped his polite pretenses and stared at his (painted!) nails.

“Have you never heard of worker shortage and a man who’s confident and secure enough in himself to wear pretty dresses? Oh right, that’s none of your business.” the currently platinum blonde haired man huffed in a bored tone, “right, Sonny?”

“Yeah,” Sonny agreed easily, “besides, you look amazing, Uki.”

With that, Sonny’s group left him behind angrily, while Uki and Uki’s co-worker stared at Sonny in surprise.

“What.”

“What? It’s the truth.”

Now that the distraction was gone, Sonny could finally see the actual outfit Uki was wearing. Another classic black and white, but the design looked more like a traditional, Western maid dress, the skirt length falling a little above his ankles. The apron was still frilly and the skirt still looked fluffy and flowy when they move around. White, frilly socks and black mary jane shoes made the outfit look more… expensive? Somewhat? Like they were maids who work at a fancy mansion or something instead of university students. Or maybe it was just the way Uki carried himself and that platinum blonde wig that made him look more elegant. Sonny still didn’t understand make up, but the red, glossy tint on Uki’s lips…

Uki’s co-worker coughed right at that moment to get their attention. She excitedly ushered Uki to sit down, saying something along the lines of it’s about time for you to take a break, Uki! and walked away after promising to bring the food Sonny ordered to him alongside another portion for Uki, who looked equally confused.

Both of them shrugged. More time to talk and catch up with each other? Why not?

“Who were those people, Sonny?” Uki asked, a little distracted by the skirt that needed a little maneuvering so that it won’t touch the ground, “sorry for assuming, but I don’t think you’re the type of person who would be friends with them willingly.”

Sonny chuckled and nodded, “they were just classmates from this one class I took. They invited me to come along and since I remembered that you’re a student here, I accepted their offer, but I really didn’t expect to meet you...” he grimaced a little recalling the scene from earlier, “especially like that...”

Uki gave Sonny’s hand a few comforting pats, blush rising prettily on his cheeks. “You know that you could’ve just contacted me if you wanna meet up, right? And it’s okay, I’m used to it at this point. I already knew what I signed up for since the very moment I volunteered to help out.”

He laughed when he saw Sonny frowning, irritation showing on his face after hearing Uki’s explanation. “It’s really okay, Sonny. Well, it’s not okay, I know, but their opinions don’t matter to me. You can be mad in my stead if you want, just remember that I’m aware that I’m the baddest bitch in this town, okay? I mean, I’ve been slaying the maid look since high school. I’m built different.” the man raised his chin in a faux conceited manner, flipping the platinum blonde strands of his wig over his shoulder, “I won’t waste my time on peasants such as them.”

As Sonny broke into a fit of giggles, Uki’s expression melted into a gentle smile. An abrupt thought then popped up in Sonny’s head.

Uki really is the prettiest when he smiles.

Needless to say, the rest of Sonny’s night that day was enjoyable, especially with Uki’s company by his side.

  1.

You see, Sonny thought that the whole maid outfit shtick was just a phase, but…

“At first it was a joke, but I don’t think it’s a joke anymore,” Uki sighed, fiddling with the hems of his kimono-style maid outfit’s sleeves. “The response was too good that it’s now an annual thing.”

First of all, going to a host club was not Sonny’s idea. It was his boss, the Commissioner’s idea, and apparently the man is a regular at this place? What was the name again—Lucky Dragon Host Club?

Yeah, his department in the VSF had just finished solving one of the more complicated cases that got them malding for months, so the Commissioner decided that it would be a good idea to bring the troop to a boujee-looking host club to unwind and celebrate. That was why they were there, sitting and chatting awkwardly with the hosts randomly assigned to them.

(Except for Sonny, since Uki saw him among the group and immediately asked the boss to assign him to Sonny.)

And there was a catch—it was May 10 aka Maid Day, so they were all dressed in maid outfits. Uki had been explaining about how each year, there were different themes for their maid outfits, and that year the design was leaning more to the traditional Japanese garment aka kimono meets traditional Western maid outfits, meaning that the shirt and long skirt were designed to look more like kimonos while the aprons and headbands were still frilly and Western-styled. To the classic black and white, they added beautiful flower embroidery in different colors on the upper torso, the hems of the sleeves and skirt, and unsurprisingly, Uki’s flowers were purple. He was also wearing a long, wavy purple wig that looked like a longer version of his actual hair, the strands cascading beautifully on his shoulders and God, Sonny couldn’t stop staring.

“You look really good, Uki.” Sonny complimented genuinely, blush rising to his cheeks. Uki didn’t look any better after the compliment registered in his brain—he immediately looked to the side and pouted. Which was very cute. What?

“Thanks, I know,” he muttered under his breath before glancing back at Sonny and chuckling, “you know, I find it really funny that this is the third time you got dragged somewhere and ended up finding me in a maid outfit.”

“Now that I think about it, you’re right! Didn’t expect to see you in a host club, though.”

The simple remark had Uki crossing his arms defensively, nose turned up in a challenging manner, “and what about it?”

“Nothing, it’s just…” Sonny smiled sheepishly as he scratched the back of his head, “it’s really nice to see you again. And I’m actually so glad that you’re here, you know? Imagine if you weren’t here and I got assigned to someone I don’t know… it would be so awkward.”

A few moments passed as the two of them simply stared at one another, Sonny confused and Uki unreadable.

(Little did he know that at that moment, Uki was just burning in jealousy because he imagined Sonny being assigned to someone else. It will take him several years to admit that to Sonny out loud.)

In the end, the silence was broken by Uki exhaling so loudly Sonny was afraid he did something wrong—that was what Uki always did before bickering with Alban back in high school, he’ll have you know—the purple haired man’s hands flexing above his pristine, black and purple skirt covered by the white, frilly apron.

“You know what, let’s not waste more of our limited time. Tell me, Sonny… or rather, master, how have you been these days?”

Truthfully, Sonny was too stunned to speak due to the sudden nickname change and the abrupt change of topic. Of course he was aware that it’s a nickname that Uki uses with all of his customers, but what kind of man doesn’t get at least a little bit caught off guard when his homie since high school suddenly called him that?

His heart rate didn’t slow down at all during their conversation, still beating at the pace of someone who just did a whole set of Ring Fit exercises for two hours. Even as he was moving to leave the host club with the Commissioner and the rest of the troop since it was near closing time already, it was like he was still reeling from… something. Was it the excitement of seeing Uki again after a long time? Was it the casual usage of the nickname “master”? Was it the way Uki seemed a bit more.. coquettish, than usual?

The VSF commander thought deeply about it whilst helping some of his drunk subordinates into taxis. It was frustrating, not being able to pinpoint exactly why he felt so restless and flustered that day. He felt like he had all the puzzle pieces—except for one.

The answer came in the form of Uki rushing out of the host club, flinging the front door open with a sense of urgency Sonny had never seen him had before. When their eyes met, a huge smile broke across Uki’s face, his whole face lighting up with it like a star. “Sonny! Thank God you’re still here.”

“What’s wrong, Uki? Did one of us accidentally leave something behind?” Sonny asked, frantically patting his pockets. Uki shook his head as he trudged over, the urgency he showed earlier replaced by uncharacteristic bashfulness.

His purple haired friend stopped right in front of him, fidgeting with his sleeves again. Sonny could visibly see the moment Uki decided to just fuck it, but he still wasn’t ready when Uki grabbed both of his hands and clutched onto them tightly, like if he let go, Sonny will disappear.

Hah, as if. The thought entered and left his mind in a speed that left Sonny reeling.

“Sonny…” Uki started in a very small, timid voice, like he just realized he hasn’t thought of anything to say. Sonny waited for him to gather his thoughts, silently enjoying the warmth of Uki’s hands on his, until Uki finally spoke up again in a more determined voice, “uh… will you… visit again soon? Wait, no, scratch that—I want you to visit again. Please.”

Sonny blinked, totally not expecting him to say that. He could feel himself faltering when his gaze met Uki’s, who had the biggest, most earnest puppy eyes directed towards him. Not only that, he could also feel his subordinates watching their exchange with blatant interest behind him—it was making his back sweat.

“Don’t get me wrong, Uki, I really do want to come see you again, but to be honest… this host club is a little out of my league,” Sonny scratched his head sheepishly, “I don’t think I can afford the price.”

It’s true. Lucky Dragon Host Club is quite a fancy and high-class host club, obviously catered for those with a position high enough in their job to afford both the money and time. For someone like Sonny, the host club is more of a one-time luxury.

Uki visibly wilted at Sonny’s answer, but still nodded in understanding. Sonny’s subordinates also wilted like they were viewers of a romance drama that got deprived of their favorite couple’s romantic scenes. Did their commander know they were like that? Probably not, because he was too busy fretting over making Uki sad. Ah… young love.

“Ummmm, uh, oh, hey, you know what!” an amazing idea suddenly popped into Sonny’s head at that moment, making his eyes sparkle. Uki tilted his head back up, shooting a questioning look at the man in front of him. “I, uh, if it’s not violating your job rules, I can pick you up after your shift and we can get dinner somewhere together! How does that sound? I’ll drive you home as well, if you want.”

Everyone, including Uki and Sonny’s subordinates, all perked up at the taller man’s suggestion. Sonny’s heart skipped a beat when Uki broke into a huge smile and threw his arms around Sonny’s neck, pulling the blonde into an excited hug, while their audience gasped. “I would love that!” he squealed before pulling back a little to smile widely in a closer proximity to Sonny’s rapidly reddening face, “just contact me later and we can work the details out together, I’ll be looking forward to it!”

With that, Uki pressed his lips onto the corner of Sonny’s in a big, loud, smooch, and the sound of the last puzzle piece clicking into place resonated loudly in Sonny’s head.

Oh.

Before Sonny could react, Uki already retrieved his arms back from around Sonny’s neck and ready to slink away. The flush on his face was no better than Sonny’s, dusting his whole face, neck, and ears. “Sorry about that, I’ve wanted to do that for a long time—I mean what,” Uki blabbered, squirming as he tried to pry Sonny’s arms away from his waist, “uh, I need to go back and help Elira and Nina close the club. Yeah. Um. See you, I guess?”

Sonny was still unresponsive as Uki walked away. On the third step, however, the purple haired man paused in his tracks, like he was considering something, before he turned back around and whispered closely at Sonny’s dumbfounded face, “thank you for coming today, I hope you enjoyed our time together,” then, like a character in a fighting game who channeled everything he had into the final ultimate attack towards his foe, Uki winked and whispered in his flirty host voice, “Sonnyshine.”

Something in the back of Sonny’s mind exploded—just like how his subordinates exploded into a noisy chorus of commentaries in the background as Uki walked away, for real this time.

“Commander maiden haver era?!”

“Congratulations, Commander, we’re so proud of you!”

“Please invite me to the wedding, Commander.”

“Do you need a Wedding Organizer’s contact information? This one helped my sister’s best friend’s cousin for hers and it was amazing—“

“Hey, you should ask if they want an outdoor or indoor wedding first!”

Flustered beyond words, Sonny whipped his whole body back towards his subordinates and yelled.

“He’s just a friend, you idiots! Why are we already talking about marriage?!”

“It’s good to plan early, Commander.”

“Just a friend… for now. Right*,* Commander?”

“What kind of friends kiss each other on the mouth anyway? I think you’re delusional, Commander.”

“We saw your body language, Commander, you can’t fool us!”

“It’s hopeless, you guys, we need a battle plan for Commander.”

As his subordinates discussed and argued among themselves, Sonny tiredly massaged his temples and sighed.

(On the drive home, though, Sonny touched the spot Uki kissed and blushed so hard he felt a little lightheaded.)

  1.

“What the fuck is this.”

“What’s wrong, Uki?”

Sonny wraps his arms around his husband’s waist, peeking over the purple haired man’s shoulder to see what’s inside the package from Nina. Uki pinches the ominous black and white fabric with the tips of his fingers as if it is a biohazard and pulls it up until it unfolds, revealing the true design of the garment.

(It’s a maid dress, of course. This entire story is about that, for God’s sake.)

As it unfolds, a rectangular card falls onto the floor. So, as Uki silently rages over the dress in his hands, Sonny flips the card open.

Dear honeys,

Congratulations on your wedding! Elira and I called it since the moment Sonny stepped into the host club, you know. Now that Uki’s not working here anymore and we can’t bug him for his tearful, grateful thank yous for our wingwomanning anytime we want, we’ve decided to send you this instead. To reminisce the time you guys met in our host club and to spice up the occasion, you know? :) Use it well, stay safe, and we love you!

With love,

Nina Kosaka (and Elira Pendora)

“I’m going to fight them.” Uki mutters after reading the card on his own while Sonny chortles, the sound muffled onto Uki’s shoulder.

Though the gift was meant to be a wedding gift, they only opened it now after a whole year—same goes to several other bigger wedding gifts, because they simply didn’t have the time or forgot about it. They had expected some… unique gifts from their equally unique friends, so they couldn’t really say they did not expect this from someone like Nina (and by association, Elira too).

That doesn’t stop Uki from starting a heated debate with the two of them through chat after that. Sonny’s just happy to be there, watching his husband mald at his former bosses who are also his close friends.

While Sonny’s opening his own phone to check notifications as Uki’s still fighting for his life on the internet, the date on his lockscreen catches his attention. May 10… what was the significance of this date again?

“Huh, that’s ironic. We opened Nina’s gift on Maid Day…”

Uki rubs his chin, eyes set on Sonny’s lockscreen. Looks like he’s finished bantering with Nina and Elira, and now he’s leaning back in Sonny’s arms with his back pressed to Sonny’s chest.

“That was the day we met in the host club too, right?” Sonny asks, eyes wide in wonder. Uki nods, equally dumbfounded. “What a weird coincidence…”

“Should I wear this after all?” Uki wonders, hands already picking up the dress again as he considers it. “It’s been awhile though.”

“Only if you want to, it’s okay if you don’t. You can always wear it another time or not at all.”

Sonny nuzzles closer to Uki as he waits for his husband to decide. Man, it’s so great to be able to hug Uki anytime he wants, showering him with affection and just… existing near him. To be able to call this beautiful man his husband is also one of the privileges Sonny wouldn’t give up for the world. What a great upgrade after missing all those years due to how dense and oblivious he was towards his own feelings!

“I’m going to wear it,” Uki decides determinedly, putting the dress on his lap as he rummages through the box to find the other parts of the outfit. His rummaging gets a bit more frantic before it abruptly stops, his expression looking like a deer in headlights. “They didn’t give me a wig…” The package had everything—the dress, the apron, the thigh high socks, and the headband, but not the wig.

Sonny considers the set laid out on the floor for a moment, not really understanding why Uki looks so distraught by the absence of the wig. “I mean… you can just wear the outfit without the wig, right? What’s the problem here?”

Uki turns towards him and stares. And stares. And stares. And continues to do so until Sonny tilts his head to the side, questioning but used to Uki’s staring. “What?”

“You don’t mind? I mean, most of the time you’ve seen me in a maid dress, I’m always wearing a wig… so I feel like it would be incomplete if there’s no wig.”

That made Sonny giggle out loud, while Uki pouts because this is a serious concern, okay! The blonde then cups the back of Uki’s head, his fingers gently playing with the strands of purple hair as he smiles. “Did you forget that the first time I saw you in a maid dress, you weren’t wearing a wig? That still changed the trajectory of my life, no?” he says, voice full of fondness for this ridiculous man he loves and adores, “besides, you always look lovely in my eyes, regardless. Haven’t I told you that a lot of times? Do I need to say it more often—“

The way Uki slaps a hand on Sonny’s mouth to shut him up as he blushes prettily is always a treat to Sonny’s eyes. It just makes him more eager to shower Uki in compliments, you know? Just to see this cute reaction more often. After all, Uki is often straightforward and bold with his flirting but he gets so shy and flustered whenever Sonny boldly praises him in return, it’s just too cute!

“Okay, okay, shut the fuck up, I get it!” his husband splutters, wrestling himself out of Sonny’s embrace and standing up. He glares down at Sonny who’s just smiling happily from his spot on the floor, “I’m going to change clothes. No peeking.”

And so Uki disappears into their shared bedroom, rustling noises filling the house while Sonny waits for him to finish changing. Not too long afterwards, though, Uki’s head pops out from behind the door, his face scrunched in uncertainty. “Uh, Sonny…?”

“Yeah, what’s wrong, Uki?” Sonny looks up from his phone, and promptly drops it at the sight of Uki in the maid outfit. At first glance, it looks normal—as in it’s in the classic black and white color with puffy sleeves on the upper arm that continues to a more fitting, longer sleeves and has a lot of frills on it including on the headband. The skirt, though… it is way shorter than the ones Uki has worn before, displaying his pretty legs hugged by white thigh high socks with lace on the edges, the white interrupted by the black mary jane shoes Uki also put on. Aside from that, there is also a heart-shaped chest window on the upper torso area. Despite the tame-looking design other than for the skirt length, something about this dress makes Uki look more… alluring.

“It’s… I don’t know how to feel about this,” Uki says, twirling around. “I mean, I look great but if this is the design they used for last year’s maid day, I—whoa!”

Sonny kicks the bedroom door close as he lifts Uki up, his husband’s legs immediately clinging onto his waist. He feels a little insane when his hands grab Uki’s behind and he could feel that the skirt barely covers it up. Uki gasps as Sonny grips harder, the blonde taking the chance to kiss him breathless.

“Oh?” Uki raises his eyebrows as he lied down on their bed, staring up at Sonny who’s grinning down at him. He trails his fingers slowly up Sonny’s chest all the way to his neck before settling on his nape, a sly smile on his face. “I get it now—that was embarrassingly dense of me.”

“Yup, I’m kinda surprised, honestly.” Sonny agrees easily, his hands sliding down to Uki’s thighs and fiddling with the lace part on Uki’s thigh high socks, “now let’s have fun, shall we?”

Sonny stares at the clothes spinning rapidly inside the washing machine, lost in thought. Uki, dressed in one of Sonny’s huge sweaters and his own boxer briefs and nothing else, wraps his sweater paws around Sonny’s waist and presses his face onto Sonny’s upper arm. “A penny for your thoughts?”

“Just thinking,” the blonde replies, both hands automatically holding onto Uki’s, “I wonder if Nina knows where I can get maid outfits in my size. I kinda wanna try it, you know? Like, you’ve worn it a lot, so I was like… should I try it too this time?”

Suddenly, his world spins as Uki shoves him back with surprising strength, pinning him against the stacked washing machine and dryer. Briefly, he thought he had said something wrong, but the moment he looks down, he sees Uki’s eyes sparkling in barely restrained excitement instead.

“Sonny Brisko, have I told you that I love you? Very much? More than anyone else in the world? The most, most, mostest?”

Laughter fills the laundry room as Sonny squishes Uki’s face and rests his forehead on Uki’s, heart overflowing with love for this adorable, ridiculous husband of his.

”You did, you did! Multiple times, even. I don’t mind hearing it more, though.”

“I love you, I love you, I love you, you hot stuff. I’m so going to contact Nina tonight, holy shit. I really wanna make out with you so bad right now—“

A silencing peck, then a mischievous smile.

“What’s stopping you from doing that, then? Because I definitely won’t.”

“Oh, you little bitch—“

Safe to say they got distracted enough, the washing machine had to remind them of the existence of their washed laundry with its loud beeping.
