Chapter Text

Aoi had arrived to the new elementary school a few minutes before class. His mother had left him and told him to figure out where his class was. He was wearing the school uniform and his mother had tried to make his hair formal and slicked back but Aoi messed it up. He hated it when his hair was down.

Oikawa was sitting outside and he sees a new boy who had longish black hair that was quite messy and light brown eyes. He had pale skin and freckles. Oikawa smiles and skips over.

"Hi! I'm Oikawa Tooru. What's your name?"

"Aoi. Aoi Kageyama.

"Nice to meet you, Kageyama!"

Aoi nods and asks, "Do you know where Mr. Saito's class is?"

"Yep! He's my teacher too, follow me!" Oikawa takes Aoi's hand and leads him to Saito's classroom.

They arrive to class and Aoi sits next to Oikawa, who was getting out his notebook and pens. Aoi does the same and the teacher, Mr. Saito, comes in and says, "Hello class! Today we have a new student. Kageyama, stand up and please introduce yourself."

Aoi stands up and says, "Hi. I'm... I'm Aoi Kageyama."

He quickly sits down and Oikawa passes him a note half way through class.

During lunch can you help me with the math homework?

He looks up at Oikawa and nods. The volleyball player smiles and during lunch, Aoi sits down in the cafeteria away from the others and takes out his lunch when someone sits next to him.

"Yahoo~ What do you have for lunch?" Oikawa asks.

Aoi shows him the wrap and fruit he had. Oikawa shows Aoi the soba and snacks he had.

"Want some?"

Aoi nods and lets Oikawa take some of his.

After school a few months later, Oikawa asks his mom if Aoi could come over and help him with his homework. Mrs. Oikawa heads over to Aoi's mom, Sayo Kageyama, and asks if it was alright.

When Aoi gets to Oikawa's house, they go to his room and Oikawa lays down and looks at the ceiling while Aoi does his math homework.

"Hey, Kageyama?" Oikawa asks, turning to face Aoi, who was sitting at his desk.

"Yeah, Oiks?"

"Can I call you Aoi?"

"Sure, Oiks," Aoi replies.

"You can call me Tooru, if you want," Tooru replies, taking out his homework. "Do you know how to do these? I was sleeping."

Aoi sits next to him and teaches him about fractions and how to multiply them and divide them.

When it was time for Aoi to leave, Tooru pouts.

"Does he have to leave? Can't he stay?"

"I'll ask his mom, alright?"

"Thank you!" The two boys say.

When Mrs. Kageyama says that Aoi can stay over. Tooru smiles and hugs Aoi.

"You can stay over!" He cheers and Aoi smiles and then laughs.

Tooru and Aoi go to his room and Aoi helps Tooru with Science and Math and after a while Tooru makes Aoi help him with volleyball after they changed into their pjs (Aoi borrowed a pair of Tooru's sweats and shirt.)

"You just want me to throw the ball at you?"

"Yep!"

"Okay."

Aoi throws the ball at Tooru and he bumps it and Aoi catches it.

"Do you know how to serve?" Tooru asks.

"Yeah," Aoi replies. "Overhand or underhand?"

Tooru shrugs and Aoi throws the ball in the air, jumps, and hits it. Oikawa bumps it.
