The sun shone brightly down, casting streams of light all throughout the garden.
Anthony flew up to the tiny bud of a flower, carrying a droplet of water to sprinkle over, supplying the plant the nutrients it needed to grow.
His mother had reassured him that with time and foster, his diligence will reap the benefits.
He was unsure of what would come once the flower had bloomed. But he waited with patience and continued to nurture it with care.
Night had fallen and the moon rose up high above them. He laid himself on a leaf of the tulip stem and dozed off into a dream.
At the break of dawn, Anthony woke from his slumber, rubbing his sleepy eyes awake. He glanced up at the flowerlet and saw that it had blossomed with the sun.
He fluttered his wings quickly, soaring up to peer into the flower.
What he saw there, took his breath away.
Magnificient, golden wings stretched out wide, giving a few test flutters.
Rich sepia skin. Cascades of wavy, onyx hair. And large, lustrous eyes, with specks of gold sparkling in the sunlight. Those dark brown orbs staring up at him in wonder, a wide smile graced upon her face.
And he knew instantly that she was a gift from the heavens, bloomed from a red tulip. Granting him a passionate, eternal love
