Work Text:
Prompt: A hello/good-bye kiss that is given without thinking - where neither person thinks twice about it
Pairing: Grimsley x Shauntal
Grimsley felt dead to the world this morning. He woke to his alarm, knowing that he had paperwork to tend to but he had zero motivation to do anything. His cool blue gaze just glossed over the numbers and underlined words. He read the words but didn't actually let anything sink in, just a few words here and there.
His attention from his papers was quickly averted when he heard a light knock on his door. Who could want his attention this early in the morning? Letting out a tired sigh, he makes his way to the door and instantly finds himself smiling.
"Good morning, Shauntal. Can I help you?"
She leans on her toes to give him a brief, but loving kiss as she held two cups of fresh coffee.
"Good morning, Grimsley. I bought you some coffee." She tilts her head a little, chuckling softly. "It's a good thing too. You look almost as dead as my Froslass in the afternoon." she teased.
He accepts the coffee, leaning over to kiss her forehead, chuckling a bit himself at the metaphor she used, "Well, that's not a terrible analogy. I am feeling a bit cold today and I'm always down for the company involving a beautiful woman." Grimsley wraps an arm around her waist, pulling her against his chest as he hummed against her cheek.
"You wouldn't happen to know where I could find such a delicate and marvelous creature, hm?"
Shauntal looked up at him, giving him a Lilipup pout, lavender eyes cast wide as she tilted her head to the far left.
"You wouldn't happen to be referring to me, are you?"
"Hmmmmmm..." He pondered aloud, a smirk playing on his lips, " Perhaps. I could use a distraction. I have some terribly boring paperwork to do and I'm afraid it's putting me to sleep."
She wraps her free arm around him, giggling, "I can help keep you awake and warm if you'd like?"
"I'd love nothing more, Kitten." Grimsley pulls her in close further into the room and closes the door behind him.
