Work Text:
Charlie took a deep breath, half-closing her eyes lazily when the sea scent invaded her system. It was still too early to get up from under that palm tree where she and her young lover had spent the night before, warming up in the heat of a crackling bonfire.
Around her,
the waves continued to pound the shore and drag themselves back to the sea, slowly taking away the high tide of the night before. The birds were just waking up, not yet ready to announce a new day with their noisy song and on that clear horizon of an intense blue color, the sun was weakly beginning to rise, bringing with it its first rays with which to illuminate the world in a beautiful spectacle.
And next to her, snuggled up beside her, wrapped in a blanket, with her head resting on her chest and hugging her at stomach level while Charlie surrounded her with her arm around her shoulders. There, there she was, peacefully asleep in her arms and being the living image of Aurora, the Sleeping Beauty. Abigail, her Abigail, her beloved Abigail. Her lover, her life and greatest sin, her princess, her Queen, her only queen... and maybe someday, her wife.
Abigail, the princess of her spring. (Of her cold autumn, her icy winter and her hot summer)
Abigail, her flower girl, her greatest treasure and at the same time, her greatest weakness.
Abigail, her princess and yet one of the greatest warriors she had ever known.
Abigail, the sun of her fireflies (focus of her moths)
Abigail, the Persephone of her Hades
Abigail, the beauty of her beast.
Abigail, the queen of her darkness.
Blushing like a teenager, she lowered her gaze towards her young lover, smiling and at the same time beginning to caress her wheat, gold and sun hair. Charlie couldn't help but feel her heart racing as she noticed the playful and peaceful smile that graced her little one's pink lips, and she remembered, almost as if it had been yesterday, that night when their eyes first met, when she was a monster and her beloved nothing more than a poor ghost, and when all those stories about soul mates, love at first sight, monsters and ghosts that she had heard made sense.
And now, even more in love, if that was possible. Charlie suddenly felt a very strong urge to kiss her.
And she thought, that she was so pretty.
