“Mama!” Bellatrix called out for her mother, pouting as Druella took her sweet time to get out of bed. Tying her robe around her waist, Druella stepped into the children’s nursery with a tired smile. However, before Druella could pick up Bellatrix, Andromeda started to cry. As Druella shot her eldest daughter a sympathetic smile, Bellatrix glared in the direction of her little sister. Rolling her eyes Bellatrix sneered before she left the nursery with her toys to play outside in the garden, away from the pest.
Bellatrix groaned loudly as she lay in the grass for what felt like the second time in five minutes. Bellatrix covered her eyes with her hands scowling at the glaring sun. The manor sounded quiet now, but Bellatrix had no intention of going back in to see her sister in the arms of her mother. Bellatrix was Druella’s baby first. Not Andromeda!
“The wind will make your face stuck like that,” a voice said, causing Bellatrix to take her hands away from her face. Her eyes widened when she saw it was her aunt - her father’s sister: Walburga. Or as Bellatrix called her, Auntie Wallie. “Whatchu want?” Bellatrix mumbled. Walburga chuckled at how bold her niece was. Lying down in the grass beside her, she sighed as she inhaled the fresh air. “Babies are annoying aren’t they?” Walburga asked, already knowing her niece’s response. Bellatrix didn’t say anything. She came outside to avoid thinking of Andromeda. Walburga sighed when Bellatrix didn’t respond. “Go away,” Bellatrix mumbled, turning on her side away from her aunt. “Y’know the best part about being the oldest though,” Walburga started, speaking more so to herself than Bellatrix, “you get to boss them about.”
Now, this got Bellatrix’s attention, even though she didn’t show it. But Walburga knew from the slight head movement her niece did, that Bellatrix would enjoy having a little sister a lot more now.
