Devour me, I let thee
Entrance me, enrage me
In the end, I shall be down on my knees
Begging, screaming,
“Please”
Light a match, throw it and I catch
Burns, marks I earn
Every sacrifice I lead
But, I still yearn
I crave, I need
The attention of thee,
Who doesn’t even see me
Your fire, harvested from my phoenix feather
A true query of whether
Whether your intentions are pure
Though, one can never be sure
When they swoon for the moon
Your glow amazes,
But when I touch, it blazes
Sending me up in flames
Drowning me in a never ending haze
Though this feeling, it weighs
All I wish is your praise

Who only wants the sun
Revolving the outskirts,
A lonely planet - me
I beg, I cry
As I try to pry
Something from thee,
Who doesn’t want me
You - the moon,
Star of the night
Feelings for you, I try to prune
Insignificant, why do I even fight?
Because in the end, I shall be down on my knees
Begging, screaming; needing
And you won’t realise I am coming undone at the seams
