Chapter Text
You kicked your door open, slamming it behind you as you flopped onto your bed in defeat. So maybe today wasn’t going as well as you thought it’d be going. You’d got fired from your day job and your night job was being shut down for “Health Violations”. The cherry on top though? Your boyfriend broke up with you.
Something about your “commitment issues” – you didn’t really pay attention. You were too busy thinking about how much of a blessing it’d be if a car swerved and crashed into you.
It wasn’t even like your boyfriend and you broke up due to drifting–he cheated on you, with his own coworker too. It was almost comical how much BS he was spilling out of his mouth in milliseconds. You were sick of it, so you just left him there, ignoring his shouts of “Don’t walk away from me!” and “You whore!”.
Whatever .
You’ve had worse days.
You curled into a ball on your bed, groaning into your pillow as you tried to sleep your problems away to no avail.
Sitting up unsteadily, your eyes scanned around your unkempt room – landing on your computer that was tucked away in the corner. The sudden idea to watch a movie sprang into your mind as you slipped out of your work uniform, throwing on the nearest and least odorous shirt. Retrieving your computer, you sat down on your bed as you opened it, typing in the link for your favorite illegal video streaming website as you browsed through the wide selection.
“ ‘Euphoria?’ , Nah, pass.” You were losing hope in watching a movie when something caught your eye or – more or less someone .
“ They added the prequels?” You said giddy as you pressed on the movie. The Star Wars Franchise had to be one of your all time favorites. You loved every single trilogy, The Original, The Prequels – even the Sequels. Though, if you were being honest with yourself a major part for your love of the prequels had to be because of Anakin.
He was a complex character, you liked that about him. It was hard to grasp whether or not he was in the right or the wrong in terms of his downward spiral into villany. You often wondered what could’ve been done in order to stop it – if he would’ve been able to actually carry out the prophecy.
You left it on the loading screen for a moment before dashing off to get snacks.
You impatiently tapped your foot as you waited for your popcorn to finish heating up. You browsed your feed tiredly, occasionally liking a funny post or comment as you tried to stop yourself from thinking about the events of today.
A notification pinged on your phone, coaxing you into clicking on it. An article about a lunar eclipse that was going to occur tonight popped up. You skimmed through it, scoffing as you closed the tab. How could people get so worked up over things like this? Lunar Eclipses were the least of your worries right now.
DING!
You snapped your head towards the microwave, practically ripping the door off it’s hinges as you carefully removed the bag from inside, placing it down on the counter. You placed your phone down as you searched in your cabinets for a big bowl.
You skipped to your bedroom, shutting and locking the door behind you as you settled yourself on your bed, getting comfortable.
The movie was interesting – as always. The prequels were one of your guilty pleasures, you knew a good chunk of the fandom didn’t like them but you thought they were pretty good. There were a few kinks here and there but, for the most part it was cohesive and the acting was top notch. You slid a few kernels into your mouth when a loud sounding boom came from outside your complex. You paused the movie, shuffling over to your window as you stuck your head out.
The Fuse Box had blown.
“What the hell!” You screamed out at the guilty dark figure who stood near the box. They noticed you, dashing off into the night in the blink of an eye. “Shit! Who the fuck was that?” You hissed, retracting your head as you saw your lights begin to flicker. Great, now you have to sleep with no power too.
Could tonight get any worse?
You settled back onto your bed, as you pressed unpause.
Nothing.
Your laptop had frozen.
You screamed in frustration, slamming your hands on your keyboard. You stood up frantically, hands clawing into your scalp as you let out a long sigh. “I fucking hate my life.” You mumbled to yourself as you dropped your hands to your side.
Just then, a small light emitted from your computer behind you.
You turned around, squinting your eyes – trying to make sense of what was going on and then before you knew it, you were feeling sleepy. Extremely sleepy. Your body could barely hold itself up, your head swaying slightly before your whole body collapsed.
Then for a few moments all you saw was black.
..
Just kidding.
You stomped over to your computer, slamming it shut as you eyed it curiously.
“Great, Now I need a new computer and a new job.” You sighed, grabbing your jacket from your closet as you headed out of your apartment. It was almost midnight, which probably explained why it was so chilly. Not that you were bothered by the temperature.
You shivered slightly as your hand slithered out of your coat pocket with a pack of cigarettes in hand. You inhaled a puff, coughing and lurching forward violently as the cigarette fell from your hands.
Catching your breath, you inhaled deeply, stomping the cigarette out.
“Cool, never doing that again.” You mumbled to yourself. You held your throat, looking up at the sky. The Lunar Eclipse had finally happened and you had to admit – it looked ethereal . It was like it was glowing in the dark night sky.
Or wait – it was. You looked up at the moon curiously as you watched the small light go from barely noticeable to herdling towards you.
“What the fuc–” You were cut off by a sharp pain on the top of your head. Your body tumbled forward as you felt your eyelids start to droop. You took one last shaky glance at the Lunar Eclipse that was getting more and more out of your vision.
Then you were out – for real this time.
—
Your eyes opened slowly as a small throbbing pain spread throughout your body. You groaned as you attempted to sit up, falling back down when you realized you were strapped down. “What the fuck..?” you mumbled out.
“Oh, yous awake!” A voice croaked out.
You groggily turned your head to meet the voice, eyes widening as you gazed at the unsightly face of a demon monster thing who looked back at you with his big googly eyes. A horrified scream left you as you tried to squirm out of the bed. The monster seemed to panic from the sounds of your screams, screaming along with you as it still stared back at you with those fucking creepy googly eyes.
“What the hell are you?!” You screamed out.
“Mesa Jar Jar Binks, and you’s are?” He replied, examining you curiously.
You stopped screaming, catching your breath as you started to come to your senses.
“J..Jar Binks..?” You repeated.
“Yes!” He replied. You looked around the room frantically.
Just what the hell was going on here?
You touched the top of your head, hissing in pain when you grazed it. The last thing you remembered was that asshole messing with your fuse box, you smoking a cig and then being knocked out by that light from the Lunar Eclipse.
Something clicked in your brain and you frantically turned to face the monster who you hadn’t recognized at first.
There was no way.
He’s real ?
You were dreaming, you had to be.
“Where..Where am I?” You queried.
Jar Jar gave you a lopsided smile.
“ Naboo .”
Holy shit.
“What am I doing here – what’re you doing here?”
He hummed in thought for a moment before turning and pointed towards the outside. “Yous were outside, all cold and alone,” He started. “Mes thought you were dead..”
“ Dead ?” You repeated. He nodded his head. You sighed as you tried to get up, the straps in your arm forcing you back down.
“Oh, mes so sorry,” Jar Jar said as he rushed towards you, releasing you from your restraints. You flopped out of the bed, adjusting to the new world as you looked around the room you were in. Was this every streaming service’s way of punishing you for pirating movies? You shook your head.
“I – I need to get out of here.” You said to nobody, but Jar Jar caught wind of it, eyes widening as he blocked the door. “No!” He exclaimed.
“Yous can’t leave! Master Kenobi es on the way!”
“What!?” You exclaimed. “ Nononono , I’m not supposed to be here – I don’t even know how I got here!”
“But, yous a Jedi Knight too, yes?” Jar Jar asked, pointing to the braids that were attached to the back of your head. You murmured out a ‘Huh?’ before feeling behind your head. Oh cool, you got a haircut while you were knocked out too.
“Just wait here, Mesa go get him!” He said rushing out the room even with your pleas for him to wait. You sighed, sitting down on the bed.
Okay so, you’re obviously on Naboo – a fictional planet in an even more fictional universe, andd you got here via bright light from the sky..
“Fuck.” You mumbled out. Either you were dreaming or you broke from reality, jumped off your balcony and died from the height and this was God’s way of punishing you. You sat in silence as you contemplated running out the room and not getting involved with the Jedi Order. However, if Jar Jar Binks was real, then that had meant Obi-Wan was real and so was..
You gulped.
Okay, so maybe being in this universe wouldn’t be so bad.
–
“Just here!” Jar Jar Binks exclaimed from the other room. You bolted up at the sound of his voice, getting off of the bed.
Obi-Wan creeped into the room haphazardly, his guard dropping when he laid eyes on you.
“Is this the Knight you were speaking about?” Obi-Wan asked, pointing to you.
“Hello, Master..Kenobi..” You replied sheepishly, bowing slightly. His eyes scanned over you for a moment before he turned to Jar Jar Binks. “She’s not yet a Jedi, Jar Jar, this is but a Padawan.” He sighed.
“Alert the Council at once.”
Jar Jar nodded, frantically rushing out of the room.
Obi-Wan turned to you tilting his head curiously.
“What is your name?”
“Y/n L/n”
“That doesn’t seem local,” He noted. “ Are you not of here?”
‘You could say that.’
You nodded in response.
Obi-wan hummed in thought. “Do you have any idea who you were apprenticing?”
Oh shit.
“No clue,” You paused. “I think we might’ve been separated, I can’t really remember much.”
“Interesting.” He mumbled out. “Not to worry, the Council will come to a decision.”
“For now, you’ll be with me until that decision is reached.”
You resisted the urge to let your mouth hang open as you nodded slowly.
“Follow me.”
Obi-Wan briskly walked out of the room, his boots clicking on the floor as he walked towards the exit. You struggled to catch up behind him, the throbbing of your body slowing you down as you ran after him. Once you caught up to him he ushered you into some kind of ship, plopping down into the seat as he started it up.
The ship hovered for a moment before bolting out. You sunk back into the chair as it flew at top speed. Despite the air blowing in your face, you were able to tilt your head to look at Obi-Wan whose eyes were trained on the sky.
“Where are you taking me?”
He turned to look at you with an unreadable expression before turning his attention back to infront of him.
“ You’ll know when we get there.”
