Give a person heart problems

Summary:

It annoyed him, honestly, how much Sakura flirted with Naruto (and anyone really) when they weren’t training. On missions he at least toned it down, unless a pretty face walked by or made eye contact with him. He wasn't even that good-looking! With his stupid pink hair and stupid green eyes that fluttered and flashed at any girl or guy that looked at him. His stupid smile that looked like the heavens were shining down on whatever poor sap it was aimed at. Honestly, a person could swoon and have heart problems if that smile was aimed at them too long.

"You coming, Sasuke?"

Green, green eyes looked back at him, a teasing smile on his lips.
Sasuke narrowed his eyes, his heart fluttering away in his chest. See, heart problems.

"Hn."

Work Text:

It annoyed him, honestly, how much Sakura flirted with Naruto (and anyone really) when they weren’t training. On missions he at least toned it down, unless a pretty face walked by or made eye contact with him. He wasn't even that good-looking! With his stupid pink hair and stupid green eyes that fluttered and flashed at any girl or guy that looked at him. Someone could get lost in those eyes, honestly. His stupid smile that looked like the heavens were shining down on whatever poor sap it was aimed at. A person could swoon and have heart problems if that smile was aimed at them too long.

"You coming, Sasuke?"

Green, green eyes looked back at him, a teasing smile on his lips.

Sasuke narrowed his eyes, his heart fluttering away in his chest. See, heart problems. "Hn."

Sakura’s smile grew, green eyes sparkling in the light before looking back at Naruto and continuing to walk. Sasuke glowered as he walked a few paces behind, eyes locked onto the pink hair in front of him, taking in the fresh buzz cut under the pink bun that sat atop Sakura’s head. It was a bit of a surprise when Sakura showed up to their team training one day with half his pink hair buzzed off and the rest piled on top of his head. All throughout their academy years he always had his pink locks long, falling to his waist.
When Naruto commented on it, Sakura had just shrugged and said “I wanted to try something different.”
Sasuke had to admit, it looked nice like that.
Every so often Sakura would come back with the bottom half of his head freshly buzzed when his hair would start growing. Sasuke assumed one of Sakura's brothers was the one cutting it. The Haruno household was large, 10 boys stuffed into a two-story house with two parents who seemed hell bent on creating even more children.
“Sho-nii is making dinner today, so we’re in for a treat.”

Naruto pumped his fists in the air ahead of Sasuke. “Yes! Shoyo-nii-sama makes the best food! Don’t tell Katsuki-nii tho! He makes some really good food too!”

Sakura laughed, head tossed back in mirth. “I’m so telling!” He glanced back at Sasuke, “You get to meet Sho-nii tonight, Sasuke. He can be a little rude but he’s a pretty good guy. Don’t worry too much about him. Katsu-nii and Izu-nii will be there too but you’ve already met them. Kaa-chan and you-chan are out visiting Uncle Yuuki for the month with the younger ones, so it’s only going to be us tonight.”

“Where’s Haru-nii going to be?” Naruto tugged on the sleeve of Sakura’s shirt.

Sakura shrugged, one arm wrapping around Naruto’s waist, the other hanging on his side. “He said he’d be out tonight but didn't say where. He’s probably gonna be at Nao-chan’s house all night. Those two are practically married, I swear.”

Sasuke rolled his eyes as the two in-front chatted. He met Haruno Katsuki once before in a grocery store. The man (since that was what he was, even then) was intense and a little intimidating. All blonde hair, emerald green eyes and a pretty face with muscles that made even the strongest man quiver a little. Their interaction wasn’t the greatest (or very long) and brought back too many memories of his own brother. Haruno Izumi was the complete opposite, slim and long haired with a pretty face and soft voice. Same green eyes with strawberry blonde hair that flowed like silk down his shoulders. Sasuke didn’t interact with him very long either, not wanting to dredge up anymore painful memories.

The two-story house came into view and Sasuke slowed his steps. He could turn around and walk away without a word and no one would stop him. Sure his teammates might complain the next day but it wasn’t like he couldn’t just ignore them. Eventually they’d get over it and Sakura would invite him again another day. Slowed to a stop, Sasuke watched his teammates enter the small white gate in front of the house, mind made up about leaving. He could use that time to get some more training in or work on his katon jutsu. Green eyes locked onto him from the doorway, effectively freezing him in place.

“Why are you still over there? Come in, no one’s gonna bite.” a smirk graced his lips, “Unless you want them to.”

Sasuke’s face went red, heart going into overdrive. “Tch. Annoying.”

Sakura laughed as Sasuke silently fumed over towards him. “I’m kidding!” A sly look, a brush of hands against his own, “I’d bite you if you'd let me.”

Sasuke stumbled, glaring hotly as Sakura laughed and walked into his own home.
“Come on! Dinner is waiting!”

Sasuke’s pulse didn’t slow even after he entered the home and made his way to the kitchen. He was soooo going to get him back for that! (But the thought of Sakura’s face anywhere near his own made Sasuke all hot and bothered and a tad nervous).

Notes:

And that's it. It mostly popped into my head as a joke and I've had severe writers block for a few years so this was refreshing to write. I'm trying to get back into writing so bear with me if the narrative flip flops alot. I'm trying to remember my flow. If you liked it, or not, thank you for reading this short, sweet fic! Sasuke's pining isn't super obvious because he's still Sasuke and doesn't know how to articulate or understand his emotions. Sakura is a flirt who knows he's pretty and works it. Naruto's just there. Vibing, blushing, living, lol.
