Chapter Text

Chapter 1

The country has two powerful mafia groups, even in modern era they are still active of course most of them are working behind the scenes. Regardless, they have been dominating the business world by discreetly pulling the strings behind, not just the business but even the economy. That’s how powerful they are, and these two groups have high potential young leaders as well. There were some rumors that even the government cannot even intervene with the affairs of these mafias, and they have a lot of connection whether it is in the government or in the business industry. 

Beijing has the Wang Group, while Chonqing has the Xiao Group for generations. Some rumors that these two are the biggest rival and they may cause a war if one decided to attack each other. That’s why the families and heirs of each group are strictly confidential and only the high rank officials knew them personally. 

The Wang Group has two heirs, originally it was supposed to be the first child who will be the appointed new leader however, the first child doesn’t want that position, that’s why he is managing the business instead and the second child inherited the position of the leader, despite being the young boss, he’s known as fearless, brutal, and apathetic person. He preferred to work in field than in office that is why he agreed to the position, with the condition that he will do everything that he wanted to do for example trying different hobbies, such as racing, or other different sport that catches his attention.

He is a quick learner that is why there’s no problem with him learning those things, he’s even good in fighting that is why despite being young he was respected by their people. However, he hates it when someone disturb him while having fun that is why as possible, he is spending his time or hobbies without the connection of the mafias, he is known as Young Boss, but some high-ranking officials called him Mr. Bo.

On the other hand, the Xiao Group has their sole leader named Sean, based on the rumors he is cold and ruthless person than the former leader. There were a lot of rumors that he’s killing his own subordinate if he didn’t like them or just had a minor mistake, but there’s also a stranger rumor around him that despite being a mafia, some of the member who saw him said that he looks beautiful and wouldn’t thought him as a mafia, but when he looks at you with his beautiful eyes you will shiver in fear. That’s he was feared by those people despite of his friendly appearance.

“Achoo!”

“Boss, you okay?” Wang Talu asked, even though he is a Wang, his family grew up in Chonqing and due to personal reason, they are under the Xiao Group.

“Hm, someone might be talking about me,” Sean said.

“What should we do about him boss?” Talu asked again while referring to the man who’s currently begging for his life.

“Punish him as usual, put him ‘there,’” Sean commanded. Talu follows his order and asked the other bodyguard they trusted to bring poor man ‘there,’ and Talu went back to his boss office.

“Are you sure continuing about this Zhanzhan?” Talu asked when he confirmed that they are already alone in the area.

“Aiyoo, Talu I’m so tried of this! I cannot do this anymore you know! Can you help me to get out again? Please?” The boss said while whining to Talu, his name is Xiao Zhan, the current head of Xiao Group. Contrary to the rumor, he is not really a frightening person, if Talu were to describe him, he is more of a rabbit than a lion. 

The reason that there are rumors about him is because he’s good at acting and with his job, as possible he’s always making alternative ways in solving the problem, instead of choosing violence. Only his family, close friend knew this, like Talu, his cousin Xuan Lu and Zhoucheng.

“No, you have a lot of things to do,” Talu said.

“I’ll finish them I promised! I have two tickets for motorcycle race just here in Chonqing! I know you also love big bikes let’s go!” With that temptation, Wang Talu gave in to his boss, so they left the mansion, it was actually owned by Xiao Zhan so they are the only ones there, not unless they called for a bodyguard during crucial times.

Xiao Zhan has other hobbies, he’s good at singing so from time to time they sing in Karaoke with his friends discreetly, he’s also good at painting but the most important is, he has another job. He’s an underground doctor, of course he is a licensed one but under the name of Gu Wei as his screen name, however he cannot work in the hospital due to his identity that’s why he decided to open a clinic at night.

Thankfully he has an excuse to cover his face and wear a thick nerdy eyeglass as well, he has a bad eyesight to begin with and it will help him to somehow disguised as well. He also changes his hairstyle when he’s working as a doctor. He is well known as an underground doctor, he treats patient wholeheartedly even though they have no money to pay for his service or even though his patients are gangster or even part of mafia or just someone lying there, so long as he can treat and save them. 

This is the reason why Talu discreetly follows Xiao Zhan during his working hours in the clinic. His boss hates when someone is supervising him, Xiao Zhan is well verse in self defense, but it doesn’t mean he’s good at it, he cannot even defeat Talu but of course no one knows expect for his friends. Xiao Zhan may be dedicated to his work as a mafia leader, but he hates doing illegal things and this is the reason why Talu is the one doing the dirty work since Xiao Zhan will disagree with it, but it was part of this of their job and they will not survive if someone will not do it. That night, Xiao Zhan and Talu decided to watch the motorcycle race, it was a bribe for Talu of course, but Xiao Zhan wanted to unwind as well. 

Upon arriving on their seat, Xiao Zhan noticed a familiar name on the screen, ‘Tracer85.’ This is not the first time that he watched this kind of race but it was not  really his hobby, he cannot even ride a bicycle, but he knew that Tracer 85 was the winner the first time that he watched this kind of race, he was amazed that time that he cannot forget his name but not that really interested to the point of searching for him and eventually forget him until he saw his name again.

He challenged Talu for a bet and whoever lose the bet will follow anything what the winner will ask for a day. They bet for each contestant and whoever wins the higher place will be the winner, so Xiao Zhan decided to put his bet on Tracer85 since he already saw him and confident about his skills.

Unfortunately for Xiao Zhan, Tracer85 lost that night, he had an accident on the track with other player, some of the audience said that the other contestant specifically sabotaged Tracer85 since he’s dominating the track. Still Xiao Zhan was so mad at him and lose the anything you ask for ticket from Talu, so he inwardly cursed the poor racer. 

“Well, I thought he will win again, but it’s a shame Zhanzhan I win whahaha!” Talu laugh loudly to tease his boss.

“That man! He’s so good last time so why now! I’ll give him a punch if ever I see him!” Xiao Zhan said.

Xiao Zhan told Talu that he will stay in clinic besides he already bribed him, so he has no choice but to follow him. Fortunately, Talu has some business that night so he cannot discreetly guard his boss. But he repeatedly told Xiao Zhan to stay away from chaos and take care. He also reminds him to put his number on his speed dial in case of emergency. After that he left to continue his business out of town.

When Xiao Zhan arrived on his clinic, he noticed that someone is leaning on his door, with bloody hands and shirts and he even smell alcohol. But this young man is a patient, so Xiao Zhan dragged him inside his clinic and tend to his wounds.  He also noticed the swollen ankle of the young man that’s why he decided to put a bandage on his feet while the young man is still unconscious.

He decided not to open the clinic since he has an unconscious patient, and he looks younger than him. It would be bad if someone is following the young man and he doesn’t want to engage them. He also noticed how good looking the young man is and it would be great if he has a younger brother like him, but the patient doesn’t have any ID, only his broken phone. 

Xiao Zhan just decided to open his laptop and watch for Tracer85’s previous race, he’s still mad that he lost even though he is a good racer. Now he is getting curious what does he look likes but whenever he will remove his helmet, they always cut the footage. While watching the recent race, someone from behind angrily close his laptop. 

“It’s a boring race, why are you watching that,” the young man coldly said.

“Hey! You shouldn’t walk like that! Your ankle is still swollen,” Xiao Zhan is usually composed but he gets mad when the patient is hardheaded and doesn’t want to take good care of his injuries.

“I didn’t know that a doctor like you would be interested with my race?”

“Well, Im not really interested with – wait what did you say?” Xiao Zhan asked but Yibo just stares at him.

“Your race?”

“Yes, my race, me Tracer85,” the young man said while pointing at himself.

“AH! Why did you lose!” Xiao Zhan angrily said and stride towards the younger man.

“They sabotage me, that’s why there’s no reason for you to watch that again.”

“Aiya, I don’t know if I will get mad at you or feel bad at you,” Xiao Zhan said and Yibo just give him a questioning look and said, “You lose a bet, didn’t you?”

“How did you know?” 

“It’s obvious, so how can I pay you Dr – Gu Wei?” the young man asked as he looks on the name tag of the doctor.

“You can pay how much you wanted to, so what’s your name?” Xiao Zhan doesn’t specifically ask for payment, but he also accepts some donations from his patient and eventually donate it to orphanage under his doctor’s name.

“Yibo."

“How old are you Yibo?”

“Does it matter?” Yibo asked.

“Of course, I need some of your information to prescribe you some medicines.” 

“Why? You have medicines here I can buy some here.” Yibo said.

“No, those are reserved already,” Xiao Zhan said, but those medicines are for poor patients who cannot afford to buy medicines that’s why when he has a patient who can clearly donate, he usually just prescribes them medicine.

“I’m 24 years old and I didn’t know that the famous underground doctor is a good-looking man,” Yibo said as he sat in front of the doctor. Xiao Zhan just stares back at the young man and then realized that he removed his face mask when watching earlier while eating his snacks. So, he hurriedly wears a face mask to cover his face.

“I’m just an average doctor,” Xiao Zhan tried to defend himself.

“I think you have a different definition of average, I’m pretty sure that you encountered more dangerous people than me,” Yibo leans in front of the doctor and give him his signature smirk.

“Haha funny little guy.”

“Little guy?” Yibo frowns at the doctor, obviously the doctor is older than him, but he really looks young.

“Yes, I am 6 years older than you, you know,” Xiao Zhan states as a matter of fact.

“Hmm, interesting,” Yibo said smugly and a sudden knock on the clinic.

“That’s mine, see you again doctor for the payment, for the mean time here’s the down payment,” Yibo said and lean closer to the doctor and gently kiss the doctor’s hand and left together with his acquaintance outside. Xiao Zhan was flustered by the sudden movement of the young and frozen on the spot, it was really a weird night for him.

“Eh? What’s that?”

Chapter 2

Xiao Zhan went home after his weird night, regardless he has no right to get mad at Yibo especially when he discovered that he is Tracer85 and younger than he thought. He just brushed of the thoughts that Talu won the bet and he’s loyal to him as well so he will just think of it as Talu’s prize. 

‘Hey! I don’t know where you are but I’m home already,” Xiao Zhan sent a message to Talu.

“Good, now sleep,” Talu replied to his message.

“He really sounds like a mom sometimes are we sure that we are the same age?” Xiao Zhan mumbles to himself. It may not look like it, but Talu is always busy as his secretary and assistant that’s why he disappeared from time to time, and he was able to manage to sneak out to open his clinic.

A week later, due to busy work as a mafia leader he couldn’t open his clinic, as a leader he has some paper works as well especially when something is needed for his approval, they have their own business in Chonqing as well from different industries, but these are all legal companies. Xiao Zhan wanted to change the image of the mafia so he can freely move as well. 

However, since its long history of course there were some illegal businesses as well and under the table transaction. As possible he tried his best to avoid those transaction and solve it in a legal way. Thankfully he has a reliable assistant which is Talu his best friend as well.  Talu have his own apartment but since he’s always supporting the leader, Xiao Zhan already gave him a room or office in his house. Even though he is the boss of their group, Xiao Zhan loves to cook, clean, knit, and even design his own house, that’s why Talu always get a free meal from Xiao Zhan.

After finishing his job as a mafia leader, he decided to visit the clinic, fortunately Talu is still busy doing his field job so he can stay longer on his clinic. Upon arriving, he noticed a man with helmet leaning on his big bike in front of his clinic, like he was waiting for someone. Somehow, the figure is familiar with him, so he decided to approach the man.

“Uhm, how can I help you?” 

“Ge, you’re late,” Yibo said as he removed his helmet.

“Yibo? Why are you here?” Xiao Zhan asked. 

“I told you one week ago that I will comeback for the payment, but you didn’t open your clinic,” Yibo said.

“Oh, really I’m sorry I forgot, wait don’t tell me you came here every day?” Xiao Zhan asked as he opens the door.

“Of course, how do you think I would know that you didn’t open your clinic.”

“Ah yeah, sorry, I just uhm had a family matter that I need to finish,” Xiao Zhan explained and invited the young man to enter the clinic.

“How’s your wound and ankle by the way?” Xiao Zhan asked. 

“It’s alright, mostly healed. I’ll stay here for a while,” Yibo said.

“What? Why? Are you feeling sick?” 

“No, I just want to hang out with you,” Yibo said.

“Huh, why would you do that?”

“Because I wanted to observe you.”

“You’re being creepy you know,” Xiao Zhan said.

“Pft, hahaha you’re so straight forward gege,” Yibo said while laughing at Xiao Zhan.

“Go hang out with your friend’s kiddo, I’m here for work,” Xiao Zhan said as he dismissed Yibo.

Yibo hates being called kid, he may be childish sometimes, but he hates it when someone calling him a kid, and it doesn’t feel right especially when it comes from the older doctor. So, he walks toward the doctor, turn his chair around to face him and cage the doctor on it while saying, “I’m not a kid though, Xiao Zhan.”

“Hey, what are you --- wait what did you call me?” Xiao Zhan flabbergasted with what he heard from the young racer. 

“Aiyo, are you getting old Dr. Gu Wei, I said Xiao Zhan,” Yibo said as he smirks while still caging the older man on his sit. Xiao Zhan may be a good actor when he’s facing his subordinates but this time, he cannot hide his shaken face to the young man in front of him.

“How din you know that name?” Xiao Zhan tried to calm down and glared at Yibo.

“Well, I have my ways, I know who you are so there’s no use of hiding it from me, I really like your real name though than Dr. Gu Wei, so I’ll just call you Zhan-ge,” Yibo said as he gives his signature smug face to the stunned man in front of him.

“What do you want,” Xiao Zhan asked but there’s a hint of threatening voice.

“I’ll get straight to the point, marry me Zhan-ge.”

“What?!”

“I just proposed to you, I said marry me.”

“Eh, no, why would I do that!” Xiao Zhan said angrily as he stood up and forcibly push Yibo.

Talu has been occupied by the work that was given by one of the officials of the Xiao Group, Liu Jian Min. He is the father of Xiao Zhan’s friends Xuan Lu and Zhoucheng. He was also a friend of the previous leader of the Xiao Group leader which if Xiao Zhan’s father. After Xiao Zhan and Talu’s parents died in an accident, Jian Min treated them as his own child as well. He was promoted as a high rank official and give the position of assistant to Talu.

“Have you finished the investigation?” Jian Min asked.

“I’m sorry but I only made a little progress. Besides, according from our insider, the young boss of Wang has been out of town of the last week and even the highest rank officials didn’t know where he went. Only his assistant knew where he is, but he is tight lip, but I already know his name and face” Talu said as he gave the picture of the young boss of Wang.

“I see, it’s been five years since the former leader passed away, of course your parents as well, but still, I didn’t know why they wanted me to talk to the Wang Group after five years since then, the former leader told me that the day will come that I will learn the truth but unfortunately, he passed away. We need to investigate first where is the former leader of the Wang Group and further investigation to their young boss, there were rumors that he’s more ruthless than our leader, of course he is. That boy Xiao Zhan, he really doesn’t fit to be a mafia, much more a leader,” Jian Min said as he pinches the bridge of his noise due to stress.

“Uncle, please don’t say that Xiao Zhan is a capable leader, and our people is afraid of him so there is nothing to---” 

“Talu, I was once an assistant of the leader of course I know what that child has been doing as well, with your and my children help right, I didn’t intervene because I thought someday he will realize that it was not the right path for him, good thing that he has been acting so proudly that’s why you guys were able to trick the others. No matter what kind of façade you guys do, that child is a soft hearted one, you know it,” Jian Min said as he cut off Talu.

“You knew all along?” 

“Of course, I know I confirmed it myself Talu, I may be old, but I did the same job as you did, I also knew that you were discreetly following him in the clinic that’s why I didn’t say anything until now. But you need to double the security around Xiao Zhan, do not let anybody approach him, investigate all his patient from now on and continue investigating about the young boss of Wang, we need precautions as well.”

“Understood uncle, well then,” Talu said as he leaves Jian Min’s office. Everyone knew how the former leader trust his assistant so when he gave him the task, he was puzzled why the former leader didn’t disclose why the Xiao Group needs to approach the Wang Group after five years. He knew that it was originally their family but he’s also clueless why are his parents loyal to the Xiao Group, that’s why he decided to investigate this as well and these reasons might be connected to each other. 

“So Zhan-ge, what’s your decision? It’s not like you have other choice,” Yibo said as he lies down on the clinic’s bed while Xiao Zhan securely closed the door and clinic for confidentiality.

“That’s out of the question, you didn’t even introduce yourself and where did you learn that name.”

“I believe I already said my name one week ago, I told you my name is Yibo,”

“Don’t act innocent, you know what I am talking about.” 

“Hm, well, to be honest I was disappointed that you are nothing like the rumor said.”

“Rumor?” Xiao Zhan asked while he silently reach for his gun on the drawer.

“That the leader of infamous mafia in Chonqing, Xiao Group’s boss is a cold, ruthless and formidable that even his subordinates are scared of him like a tiger who hunts his prey, but when I saw you, you are more like a bunny hiding in this tiny whole."

“What are you sayi---”

“It’s useless Zhan-ge I know everything about you, so, you can put down the gun behind you, I won’t do anything, besides we need each other more than you think.”

“What do you mean?”

“You know how powerful our families are, but still with if the small pests decided to attack a big target, they are still bothersome and since they are small there’s a lot of them. I don’t want them to ruin my peaceful times, so I need you to cooperate,” Yibo explained.

“What? I’m really confused, help with what? Small pest? Attack big target? What are you saying? And who are you!”  Yibo pulled Xiao Zhan and pinned him into the clinic’s bed, Xiao Zhan struggled to break away from the younger man on top of his, but unfortunately, he was manhandled by him. 

“Zhan-ge, for a doctor, you are quite slow, how did you survive in a mafia up until now?” Yibo said smugly and added, “But I didn’t expect that the leader is quiet a beauty, more over you are a liscensed doctor and oopps, stop struggling, you may be knowledgeable with self defense, but you cannot win against me who’s more experienced in fighting, so- “but before Yibo could continue his sentence, he noticed a gun that was pointing behind his head. 

“Get away from him, Wang Yibo” Talu said while threatening Yibo.

“Wang? Wang Yi-bo?” Xiao Zhan was alarmed by the name that he heard, although he didn’t know what the real name of the young boss of the infamous mafia in Beijing is, he is familiar with Wang. He also knew that Talu’s family originally came from that group, so why is he approaching him?

“Hey Mr. assistant, you ruin my chance to introduce myself to Zhan-ge,” Yibo said without breaking an eye contact to Xiao Zhan and without changing their position.

“Zhan-ge?” Talu asked as he looks to Xiao Zhan, but Yibo just ignored him.

“I told you Zhan-ge, we need each other, I am Wang Yibo, the current leader of the Wang Group and,” Yibo said as he abruptly changed their position and put Xiao Zhan on his lap without minding Talu and added, “your fiancé,” as he swiftly puts the engagement ring on Xiao Zhan’s finger.

Chapter 3

“What kind of joke is this Wang Yibo!” Talu said as he pulled Xiao Zhan behind his back, while Yibo just shrug with the statement and almost not even minding the presence of Talu.

“Wait Talu, let him explain,” Xiao Zhan said.

“As expected, you are really soft-hearted Zhan-ge, but I don’t want anyone to hear our conversation so let’s go to your house,” Yibo said.

“No, speak now or else I will kick you out,” Xiao Zhan glared at the younger, he’s definitely serious but he cannot fully trust him.

“I will not speak so long as there’s a third party, this is just a conversation between two people in a relationship unless that is not a person,” Yibo said smugly while pointing at Talu.

“You!”

“Stop it Talu, please leave us first, I’ll handle this,” Xiao Zhan said.

“But Xiao Zhan, you cannot trust him!” Talu said worriedly.

“This is a command Talu,” Xiao Zhan said, he is a type of person that do not usually command his friends but this time it feels like this is an important matter between two leaders and reason why the enemies’ leader is approaching him even investigated him. Because of this unusual request, Talu back out and left them inside the clinic. While Yibo made sure that no one can hear nor eavesdrop them.

“The coast is clear; will you explain now?” Xiao Zhan said seriously far from his gentle look as a doctor.

“Hmm, you are really interesting Zhan-ge, you can make scary face as well. Oh, is that why there were rumors about you being ruthless or whatnot,” Yibo said.

“Enough with chitchat, what’s your motive Wang Yibo?”

“I know you love your peaceful life too, but like what I’ve mentioned, there were some mafias are causing trouble.” 

“So? I don’t think that the infamous Beijing Wang Group need our help.”

“Hahaha, you are funny Zhan-ge. I don’t actually need your need, I just wanted to see their disappointed faces. They are trying to approach you besides in terms of help, it’s actually you who will need my help. There’s a rat a among you, you know,” Yibo explained.

“That’s impossible, they are loyal subordinates.”

“You are really clueless, and one more thing, it may help you solve the death of your parents.”

“What do you mean?”  Xiao Zhan was flustered by sudden information. He always thought that his parents and Talu’s died in accident he even begged his uncle Jian Min to investigate the accident but he’s always saying that it was just because of an accident.

“Well, I don’t think I am not the right person to answer that.” 

“So, why are you approaching me like this, and it looks like it was only for my gain and not yours?” Xiao Zhan asked.

“I told you; it was for my entertainment; do you really think that I have feelings for your hahaha.” 

“Of course not, do not mock me, but I will not cooperate with you,” Xiao Zhan said as he removes the ring.

“Hmm, I thought I can bait you, but you are being hard to get.”

“Ya!” Xiao Zhan shouted at the younger man; he’s getting irritated by his attitude since earlier.

“You said to your parents that you wanted to get married at thirty right? Yibo asked.

“H-how did you know that?” 

“I’ll tell you one more secret Zhan-ge.”

“What is it now,” Xiao Zhan said as he pinches his nose bridge. 

“Our families are not really enemies, our parents already set our wedding when you reach your thirtieth birthday, few more months and the deal will be sealed, that’s why I proposed.”

“W-what?!” 

While waiting for Xiao Zhan, Talu called Jian Min to report by the sudden escalation of the event, the one that they are investigating is currently talking to their boss. Jian Min asked him not to leave Xiao Zhan side and he told them what happened when he reached the clinic, but because Xiao Zhan commanded him, he has no choice but to leave the room and let them talk. Jian Min also asked him to immediately bring Xiao Zhan home once they are done with the conversation and do not tell him about his mission, but even before he could finish the call, he saw the flustered Xiao Zhan hurriedly left the clinic and he saw Wang Yibo in front of the door laughing.

“Seems like my fiancé is really hard to get, but that makes him cute, don’t you think so Mr. Assistant?” Yibo said, this time he recognizes the assistant’s presence, but Talu just glared at him and hurriedly follow Xiao Zhan.

 “Xiao Zhan wait!”

“Talu, you’re still here.”

“What happened there?”

“Let’s talk in the car,” Xiao Zhan said.

While they are in the car, Xiao Zhan told him about the spy in their midst and the reason why Yibo approached and proposed to him, but he didn’t tell him that their families are not really enemies as per request of Yibo as well and he wanted to know the truth as well behind the death of their parents.

“Don’t tell me that you agreed to his plan?” Talu asked.

“Of course not! I’m not mad you know!” Xiao Zhan said.

“So, what’s your plan, especially that he knew who you are, we need to move the clinic,” Talu suggested, and it would be for the best if he didn’t work as a doctor for a while.

“I am thinking the same, but how about my patients?” 

“This is not the right time to think about them! We now know what the Wang leader looks like and his name. I don’t think he is lying about his identity,” Talu said but he didn’t mention that he already investigated what Yibo looks like as per request of Jian Min, but he needs Xiao Zhan to be more aware of his position and safety.

“I know, I’m sorry, I – I just don’t know how to process everything, I truly believe that our subordinates are loyal,” Xiao Zhan said while looking down and clenching on his seatbelt.

Talu didn’t answer, he wanted to agree with Xiao Zhan but reality is harsh, they have silenced those who tried to betray the Xiao Group so most likely that they have a strong back up right now that’s why they haven’t caught. Talu wanted to support Xiao Zhan as a leader and wanted to prove it to their uncle Jian Min that Xiao Zhan deserves to be the boss, but he also thinks that maybe Xiao Zhan is not really suited for this job due to his nature, so they just silently sit inside the car and Talu escorted Xiao Zhan to his house. That night, he stayed on his room in Xiao’s mansion and from time to time he also checks the front door of Xiao Zhan’s office.

While Xiao Zhan in his room, silently look at the picture of his deceased parents.

Chapter Text

The morning came as usual Xiao Zhan prepared breakfast for the two of them, Talu may be a capable assistant, but he cannot cook properly since he's a busy person he tends to eat instant and easy to make foods. Xiao Zhan taught him how to cook but unfortunately, he's bad at it. 

"Morning Talu," Xiao Zhan said as he saw Talu, he knew that his assistant didn't sleep properly as he keeps on watching over his room.

"Boss, uhm morning," Talu awkwardly greets him.

"Boss? Ya! Don't call me that when we are alone you give me creeps, let's eat," Xiao Zhan said.

The two have their breakfast and Xiao Zhan as usual tried to lighten the mood. He knew how worried Talu is, but he cannot just simply dismiss the fact that he has a chance to investigate again his parents’ death.

"Talu, I decided to cooperate with Yibo." 

"As expected.”

"You're not angry?" Xiao Zhan asked.

"It's your decision, I know there's more important reason why you decided to accept his proposal except for catching those rats."

"Yes, actually I need to tell you this, I think about this all night, and I think you have the right to know as well. Yibo told me that our group are not really enemies, and it might help us to discover about the death of our parents."

"What?!" Talu was shocked by the sudden information.

"Calm dowm, I don't get it either, but he told me that if I accept the proposal as his fiancée, I will be free and let him meet his parents for other information," Xiao Zhan said.

"It might be a trap you know!"

"I know but I have this feeling that I can trust Yibo and that he's saying the truth." 

Talu sighed but he decided to agree for the meantime, it's also beneficial for him if Xiao Zhan meet the former Wang Group's leader.

"What about Uncle Jian Min, are you going to inform him?" Talu asked.

"Not now, I'll talk to Yibo first again and once I meet his parent, I will inform uncle right away, so please Talu help me with this one," Xiao Zhan said as he bows his head as a courtesy for asking a favor to his friend.

"I told you not to easily bow in front of others." 

"But you're not others Talu," Xiao Zhan said happily.

Since Xiao Zhan do not have any contact information of Yibo, they tried to visit the motorcycle field since there's a scheduled race that night. Xiao Zhan insisted to visit as a normal civilian would do since it's a bit risky if they would ask someone to make an appointment for them, it could be used against them, and the information might leak so they are trying their best to act just like a normal fan would do. Thankfully, they were able to buy a VVIP ticket to secure a chance to meet the racers backstage aa a guise of being a fan.

Unfortunately, he didn't expect that Wang Yibo wouldn't want to meet his 'fans' outside, also the coordinator told him that it was the first time that it happened because Tracer85 would normally meet his fans during the backstage event and somehow greet them, so the organizers thought that he doesn't feel good and needed to rest before the race.

"Uhm, sorry but can you please tell him that it's really important," Xiao Zhan said to the coordinator.

"He said no and will not meet anyone today."

"Tell him that Gu Wei is here, Dr. Gu Wei," Xiao Zhan insisted. The coordinator tried to inform Yibo since the man address himself as a doctor, it wasn’t the first time that some crazy fans insisted on meeting him, so the staffs are quite strict when it comes to Tracer85. 

"He said that he didn't know anyone with that name," the staff said.

"That damn man!" Talu murmured.

"Why is he being so difficult," Xiao Zhan said but he needed to meet him right away, but he cannot risk of using his own real name and Talu's.

"Please tell him that his fiancé is here," Xiao Zhan said as a last resort.

"Eh?" The staff confusingly said but still inform Yibo about it. After that, a loud gremlin laugh was heard inside Yibo's room, even Xiao Zhan and Talu's can hear them and that makes Xiao Zhan flushed with embarrassment. He has no choice and thankfully it's working, the staff assisted him to Yibo's room but he's the only one who can enter, that's why even if Talu insisted on coming, Xiao Zhan asked him to stay outside and wait for him.

"Welcome, my fiancé!" Yibo teasingly said to Xiao Zhan.

"Stop that, you gremlin, you know I am outside!" Xiao Zhan said.

"Well, I appreciate you buying a ticket for tonight's race and VVIP at that, but you should check first the name of the finalist, if you're not a racer for the night you have the rights not to attend the backstage event, so it's not basically my fault," Yibo said. 

"What?!" Xiao Zhan hurriedly checks the name of the finalist, and the young man is right, he's not even on the list and he's just messing with him. But it's not the important right now so he just took a deep breathe. 

"I will cooperate with you," Xiao Zhan said.

"As expected, you cannot overlook my offer, but before that we should know each other first, don’t you think?” Yibo asked.

“You said that you already know all about me.”

“Of course, but as your fiancé I would like to know how you would look like on a date,” Yibo said smugly.

“Wh-what? Of course, like a normal person,” Xiao Zhan said while stuttering. To be honest he doesn’t have any experience in dating, although he knew that he likes men when he was studying but due to his work, he didn’t bother dating nor asking someone for a date.

“Hmm, is that so? But you have no boyfriend or girlfriend since birth,” Yibo said.

“Shut up! I’m busy!” 

“I’m busy too, but I have experience at least, so what’s your excuse?”  

“Shut up just continue with our meeting, Talu is waiting for me. I’m just curious why do we need to get married?”

“I told you, it was because of our parents, even our ancestors.” 

“Ancestors?”

“Well, I only have the glimpse of what they wanted to do but if you have questions, I think my parents can answer those questions for you in the future, this is the only way for the other minor groups accept us. You know how high their mafia pride is, of course I have the highest pride among them, but I hate that they can affect the decision making sometimes, and now some of them are planning coup d’ etat? No way, I love fighting in field, but I hate it when someone disturb my peace, so it’s better to eliminate them early,” Yibo explained.

“So, in short, you wanted to purge those traitors and our ancestors wanted to merge our group? Isn’t there any other way?”

“Of course, it’s we are not going to get married for real not unless you wanted to get married to me,” Yibo said while pulling the older man and holds his chin.

“Of course not! That’s all I wanted to hear for now, I also wanted to meet the former leaders of Wang Group, when can I meet them?” Xiao Zhan said as he pushed Yibo.

“They are still on a vacation besides I haven’t informed them yet and I don’t know where they are but once they heard the news they will definitely come here.” Yibo said.

“I see, but why can I tell this to Talu, that it will just be a fake proposal? He’s just worried for me.”

“Zhan-ge, I told you there are rats in you group as well. I have an idea who they are, but I don’t know who their acquaintances are, we have to act to make it more believable, wee are both good at it. Besides, I think it’s a bit rude to speak about other man in front of your fiancé.” 

“He is not other man, he’s my assistant beside we can trust hi—”

“No, this is just between us. You can just tell him that I fall in love with you at first sight, and you find me attracting which is true that's why you watched my race and fall in love with me as well that woll be a good alibi since he is with you when you sneak out and watch the race, and what if that really happens, you'll never know hahaha.”

“Aiyo, that’s a bad premonition. So, who are your suspects?”

“He Peng.”

“What? But their family are one of the longest subordinates that we have.” Xiao Zhan said, since their family has been nothing but loyal to the group besides his father is one of the main executives in Xiao Group, almost higher that his Uncle Jian Min. 

The He family is also strict in adhering the rules of the mafia, he cannot just ignore them since they fully support the Xiao Group, and many other families or minor groups are alliance of He family.  But he hates some of their actions as well, they are too brutal and ruthless, that’s why Xiao Zhan has been trying to finish the job before the He family took an action. They don’t have any bad intention to the family as far as he knew, instead they want the Xiao Group to be the highest and infamous mafia in the country, better than the Wang Group in Beijing.

That’s maybe the reason why Yibo has suspected them, but since he become the head of the family, nothing bad happened so he thought that everything is alright not until Yibo appeared in front of him and most of all he wanted to know what really happened to his parents.

“Enough with the chit chat, let’s go.” Yibo pulled Xiao Zhan and they exited to the back door and went directly to the garage, while Yibo put the helmet on Xiao Zhan’s head.

“Where are we going?! What about Talu?”

“He’s a grown-up man,” Yibo said as he mounted Xiao Zhan on his big bike and hurriedly mount the as well, so the older man cannot leave the place. 

“Waitttt!” Xiao Zhan shouts while abruptly hugs Yibo’s waist as the younger man hurriedly starts his engine and drove outside.

“Ya! Are you insane!” Xiao Zhan said while still holding into the racer’s waist.

“Ouch, Zhan-ge, you have been shouting since earlier, there’s a mic inside the helmet and built in speaker, there’s no nee for you to shout besides I know you have been enjoying hugging me tightly.”

“Please slow down! You are too fast!” Xiao Zhan already have experience in riding big bikes because of Talu but he’s still scared of it, and he cannot even ride a bike, so he’s scared of course. After a while, the two of them arrived in a certain Japanese restaurant, the server assisted them in their exclusive room and serve the food. 

“You are craving for Japanese foods, right?” Yibo said.

“How did you know?”

“Earlier, while you are waiting, I heard that you are craving for some so maid some reservations.”

“You! You already heard us but still didn’t let us enter your room!” 

Yibo just laugh at him, and they both have their peaceful dinner, Xiao Zhan also asked him what are the things that he needed to know about Yibo, so he told him everything since Yibo already investigated Xiao Zhan, so he told him his likes, schedules, and future for their cooperation.

“But Yibo, what if, the other minor families still didn’t accept the cooperation between the families after purging the traitors?”

“Then we will continue with the wedding,” Yibo said while Xiao Zhan choked on his food.”

“What?!”

“We’re both single Zhan-ge, so what’s the problem?” Yibo said in a relaxed manner, Xiao Zhan wanted to ask him if he has someone that he loves but he decided to keep silent instead and continue their peaceful dinner.

Months passed, the two of them decided to meet from time to time, although they have been contacting each other over the phone most of the time due to their location. Xiao Zhan already explained to Talu about his plan, for now he just informs him that he’s really interested in Yibo romantically so they could keep seeing in other and they will be setting a meeting with the other family members after finalizing their relationship.

The two leaders tried to prolong first their relationship for the other family members not to easily suspect them, thankfully nothing happened during those times. Furthermore, they need to create first a story and timeline on how they met since to create a flawless plan.

They discreetly visits each other from Chonqing to Beijing or vice versa, but mostly Yibo as he enjoys riding his big bike whenever he had a field work, besides Xiao Zhan is busy due to his second work as a doctor, but they really tried to know each other during those times, especially Xiao Zhan, he realized that the young boss of Wang Group has a childish nature as well and he has a lot of hobbies, but he’s still amaze how no one knew or how he hide his identity from those hobbies, Yibo also introduced his assistant and close friend to Xiao Zhan.

Although Talu has been suspecting Yibo that he has an ulterior motive, he decided to trust Xiao Zhan, he knew that his boss is a smart man. But he is really irritated by the attitude of the young leader of the Wang Group and still not acknowledging his presence, that’s why Xiao Zhan tends to leave the clinic alone. Of course, he’s following them to cover for his boss and he knew that Yibo was aware that he’s somehow following them.

There’s this one time when Yibo tease Xiao Zhan and asked him to drink alcohol, unfortunately Xiao Zhan can only take one bottle of beer and has a low tolerance, but because of Yibo’s provoking, Xiao Zhan drank more than that he can handle. He wanted to approach them but before he can do that, someone grabbed him and turns out that Yibo’s assistant has been following them as well his name is Seungyoun. He reassured Talu that the boss of the Xiao Group is in a good hand, besides Yibo went directly to the hotel in Beijing that was owned by their Group, so he can reassure the privacy.

That morning Xiao Zhan woke up in an unknown bed, being an early bird, he abruptly sits and observed the place, trying to recall everything. However, as cliché as it is, he noticed someone on the same bed and moreover they are both naked.

“AHHH!” 

“What, what happened?!” Yibo suddenly woke up by the sudden loud noise behind him.

“Wha—why are we naked?!” Xiao Zhan screams at Yibo.

“Aiyoo Zhan-ge I thought something happened,” Yibo said as he is copying Xiao Zhan’s aiyo and pulled the older man to lie on bed again and hugs him tightly.

“Ya! You brat, release me, I can feel your –” Xiao Zhan didn’t continue what he was saying and flushed with the thought that they are both naked under the blanket, the skin ship makes him hot and blushed.

“What Zhan-ge?” Yibo teasingly said.

“Nothing,” Xiao Zhan said as he tried to face in an opposite direction, but Yibo is too strong for him so he can only turn his head and sighed.

“So, what happened last night after we got drunk? Nothing happened, right?”  Xiao Zhan asked.

“Of course, something happened, can’t you feel it Zhan-ge?” Yibo said and a sudden realization struck Xiao Zhan, there’s a bit pain and numbness on his lower back. 

“Remember now?” Yibo said.

“No! no! it’s not true!” Xiao Zhan mumbles and looking pale while mumbling to himself, while Yibo on the other hand, just giggling while enjoying the older man’s reaction.

“As much as I wanted to enjoy your reaction, it’s still 5AM in the morning, we still need to sleep,” Yibo said without retreating his hug to the older man.

“No, no, this can’t be, hey let go of me!” Xiao Zhan said as he struggled.

“You seem to have a misunderstanding of what happened Zhan-ge, I do not attack someone who is asleep.” Yibo said, he’s still sleepy so he decided to tell the truth.

“What do you mean? My back, may ahem my lower back is aching, so what else did we do!” 

“Before we reached the hotel, you are already swaying back and forth so I decided to lift you in my arms, but you didn’t stay still so I forcefully lift you in my shoulder, but you struggled and even attack my back with your elbow, I hurt my back as well you know. Because of that, you fell flat on your back and lose consciousness. Don’t worry, no broken bone but just some bruise on your upper butt.” 

“You! You should have said earlier!” Xiao Zhan angrily said and unconsciously turn to face Yibo.

“Eh? What are you thinking Zhan-ge, you dirty minded gege,” Yibo teasingly said, because of this Xiao Zhan covers his face with both of his hands and Yibo hugs him tighter so the older man cannot escape.

“But why are we naked?! There’s no need to remove our clothes!” 

“I didn’t, I only remove my clothes. I didn’t wear anything when sleeping, I told you when we are drinking yesterday,” Yibo said.

“Then why I am----” Xiao Zhan then remembered what happened, after losing consciousness in the elevator after struggling in Yibo’s shoulder then went directly in this room and Yibo lie him on the bed, but since he’s not also wearing anything when sleeping he habitually removed his clothes even if Yibo’s trying to stop him but since he’s feeling hot due to alcohol he insisted on removing his clothes, so the younger man just let him be and fall asleep. After such embarrassment, he hid his face again with his hands and mumbles, “I remember now, it’s really my fault. Please bury me.”

“It’s a shame that you don’t seem to remember what happened after that, well that’s my secret for now,” Yibo thought as he closed his eyes and remembered what happened after Xiao Zhan fall asleep but abruptly woken up in the middle of it.

“Thank you Yibo, I really enjoyed this night,” Xiao Zhan said with a smile while half awake and suddenly kiss Yibo’s forehead while they are lying down. Yibo, was surprised by the sudden sweet gesture from the Xiao Group’s boss and mumbles, “See, you’re like a bunny than a tiger. Goodnight Zhan-ge.”

Chapter 6

At a certain mansion in Beijing.

"How's Yibo? I haven't heard anything from him for the past months. Is he busy that he forgot his parents?" 

"Mrs. Wang, yes, he's quite busy for some times now. He has been doing some field works from different city," one of Wang Group's subordinates. 

"Is that so? Anything new about him? He has been working for the past years ever since that child learn how to fight, but he didn't even forget to ask about us. So, what's the difference?" 

But before the subordinate talks a beautiful lady comes in together with a handsome older man that looks like Wang Yibo and interrupted their discussion.

"Auntie! Long time no see! How's the vacation!" She said while running towards Mrs. Wang and excitedly hugs her.

"Oh, our dear Cheng Xiao! How are you!" 

"I'm great auntie, you know as usual I really like dancing, so I continue my study, but we have few months for our break and decided to visit you here instead!" 

"It seems like you forgot me," the older man said.

"Oh, dear honey, of course not, thank you as always for being a gentleman and guiding our dear Cheng Xiao," Mrs. Wang said lovingly to her husband. 

"That's right uncle, you're always here for me even though I didn't even remember my parents, you really take good care of me," Cheng Xiao gratefully said to the former boss of Wang Group and added, "Oh right! Where's Yibo?" 

"Speaking of my devil son," Mr. Wang said as he looks in the direction of the incoming young man.

"What a nice way of greeting your son, father," Yibo sarcastically said. 

"Yibo!" Cheng Xiao happily said and hugs him.

"Hey, how are you?" Yibo said with a subtle smile.

"Fine, but I really miss skating with you, mind if I ask for a skateboard date?" 

"Hmm let me think, then what can I get?" Yibo teasingly asked.

"You are wealthier than me, why should I pay you, I need new wheels for my skateboard recommend me a good shop nearby!" Cheng Xiao said.

"Yes, sure, sure," Yibo said in resignation while giving his signature smirk.

"Yes! And treat me food as well!" Cheng Xiao added.

"Yes yes, now, let's go," Yibo said and walk directly into their garage without saying to his parents.

"Ah, auntie and uncle we will leave first, see you later!" Cheng Xiao said as she follows Yibo to the garage.

"Why is our son like that?" Mrs. Wang asked.

"Well, he's always saying that he is a cool guy hahaha but more of a cute guy hahaha," Mr. Wang teasingly said.

Cheng Xiao wear her personalized helmet; it was always on the garage together with other helmet collections, so she has her own when they ride on Yibo's bike and while she's staying in Beijing. Since she's studying her masteral, she chose to stay in a condo near her school but originally, she's staying with the Wangs since she was a child. 

That is why she grew up with Yibo and Haikuan, although she's closer with Yibo since they are the same age. They almost have the same hobbies, and both athletic, she used to be a sickly child but thanks to Yibo who has a lot of hobbies she was able to learn some, especially dancing and skateboarding.

While preparing for their departure, she noticed that Yibo has a subtle smile on his face before wearing his helmet, and he looks like he is in a good mood, so she asked him, "Hey I saw that smile, anything new? You look so happy."

"Nothing, I just remember someone when you mounted on the bike," Yibo said, for Cheng Xiao it's obvious on Yibo's voice that he is smiling under that helmet because of his tone of voice. Good thing that their helmet has a built-in earphone so they can communicate properly. 

"Someone? Did you ride with someone?" She asked.

"Hahaha never mind, hold on," Yibo remind Cheng Xiao to hold tightly as they leave the Wang's mansion on his big bike. 

When Cheng Xiao happily and excitedly mounting behind him on the bike, he remembered Xiao Zhan on their first 'date' where he somehow kidnaps him and forcibly mount him on the bike. He's a bit taller than him but he looks so small and cute when he is scared and nervous, the total opposite of Cheng Xiao.

"Did you let someone ride on your bike?" Cheng Xiao asked again, it's not that long since the last time she saw Yibo, but this is a big change.

"Mn," Yibo said in confirmation.

"But you hate it when others ride or use your motorcycle," Cheng Xiao said.

"Hmm just think of it that, he's a special case, you'll meet him soon," Yibo answered back.

"Is that so," Cheng Xiao only said and now she's curious. She knew that Yibo is not really a romantic person although he's been in some relationship before when they are studying in high school, but you can count it on your one hand and it barely last for three months, and more of one sided for the partner. So, she is curious if Yibo is in a relationship right now, that makes him smile like that for the first time.

Xiao Zhan woke up with a terrible headache and naked underneath the blanket, he's embarrassed to what happened last night and internally promise not to drink again. He noticed that his companion is no longer to be seen in the room and saw a small note on the table saying that he needs to go first and have a breakfast before going out. 

Even though Xiao Zhan is a good cook and tends to cook food for Talu, he's not really a big eater during morning so he only grabs the sandwich and let the staff discreetly eat the breakfast than wasting it. He went back to his mansion in Chonqing and noticed the angry Talu behind him. 

"Aiya! You scared me!" Xiao Zhan said as he looks back to Talu.

"Hey Xiao Zhan! Be honest with me, did you have sex with that Wang Group young boss?" Talu straightforwardly asked. 

"No-nothing happened!" Xiao Zhan said while blushing, he cannot believe that Talu will really ask him that, but he cannot tell him that they are just faking their relationship, all he knew is Wang Yibo is chasing or courting Xiao Zhan and his boss is just giving the Wang boss a chance to gather some information as well, Talu didn't know that there's already a collaboration within the two.

"I didn't know if he really likes you or just toying with you, I don’t trust him, so don't fall for him. He's not the one for you," Talu said.

"I know," Xiao Zhan mumble, for some reason that realization makes his chest sting, so he just clenches on his clothes and trying to figure out his feelings.

At first it was just a pure curiosity about the plan of Yibo, why he is helping him and what's the reason behind his parents’ death. But for the past months, their so-called dates, he really enjoys it. To the point of him asking what if they are really a couple.

He knew that he's already attracted to the young man but he's always internally denying it. Yibo seems like a sincere person when it comes to his action, he feels special, and it always made him blush. For quite some time he's conscious with the young man but he shouldn't, it will bothersome if he really falls in love with him. But can he repress what he feels? 

Talu didn't miss the bothered and lonely expression on Xiao Zhan's face, for him, the relationship between the two will never work out. They are destined to be a rival with each other and he's here to assist and support Xiao Zhan, but he cannot let him fall in love with that young boss, that is why he is always reminding Xiao Zhan about it. He doesn’t know if the Wang’s boss feeling for his boss is genuine or not but regardless, he cannot let them continue this relationship.

Xiao Zhan only mentioned that it was because of the traitor within the Xiao Group and to discover the cause of death of their parents, that is why he is accepting Yibo’s proposal. He is hoping that these are the only reasons why his boss keeps on seeing the Wang's young boss, because if there's more and Xiao Zhan really falls into that young man's hand, he might betray Xiao Zhan as his assistant and as a friend as well. His priority is Xiao Zhan's safety whether the said person likes it or not. Talu can support any lover that Xiao Zhan may have except for Wangs. 

Jian Min has been receiving report from Talu that Xiao Zhan keeps on seeing the Wang Yibo so far nothing bad happened, but since it is Xiao Zhan, he's quite worried as well. He has been also receiving an anonymous report that there's a traitor within the Xiao Group and currently moving to execute their plan. He also asked Talu to look for the anonymous sender but he's always one step late and haven't discovered the said person.

Qing Xiu, the father of He Peng and the highest executive of the Xiao Group, their family has been affiliated to the Xiao Group for a long time, he’s more ruthless than Jian Min that is why even with the enemy he is one of the infamous mafia executives. He also received an anonymous report that the current head of the Xiao Group is seeing someone outside of the Group and the said lover of their boss came from a mafia group as well, so he decided to command someone to follow their boss whenever he goes out but for the nth attempt of spying them, all the spy has been wiped out even before leaving to Chonqing. 

It looks like someone, not just Talu has been guarding Xiao Zhan from afar and this is also a proof that he's really doing something outside their mafia affairs. The info might be true as well that their boss is currently seeing someone with a strong background since they cannot follow him even his assistant and close friend, Talu.

Qing Xiu knew Xiao Zhan as well since childhood and always believe that he's not fit for the position because of his personality, unfortunately Xiao Zhan’s mother had a miscarriage to his sister and based on the report that the baby didn’t survive after the labor and announced as a dead baby, that’s why Xiao Zhan grew up as an only child. But whenever he attempted to test Xiao Zhan, it always has the same result, he's good at his job and known as ruthless within the Group, but this doesn't mean that he fully trusts him, one mistake and he will grab the opportunity to push his son as the boss and retain the glory of Xiao Group. 

The government allowed the same sex marriage way back, but it doesn't mean they have the answer for the same sex to have their own child. So, it's a golden rule in their Xiao Group that the future leaders will choose their partner within the affiliated family of the Group, yearly they are gaining more supporters and members so finding a partner is not that hard. 

However, if they have decided to marry a same sex, they should choose someone to be a surrogate mother within the affiliated family as well, and the sperm will be provided by the leader, or they can legally adopt the boss' nearest nephew as the future leader of the Group, or if the boss have a sister, she'll automatically become the surrogate mother for his brother's child. Because of this rule, they believe that he has maintained the glory of the mafia.

"He Peng, inform Jian Min that we will have an executive meeting tomorrow, without the boss," Qing Xiu said.

"Yes, father."
