Caspian was standing next to Rae, bouncing a bit with excitement. They were both in line for the ferris wheel. It was one of the last carnival rides they were going on for the night. Or well, it was the last for Rae. He was already in a lot of pain from having to walk around a bunch and he was tired. Too much stimulation from the day. However Caspian had convinced him to ride one more ride with him. So here he was.
He knew Caspian would probably go along and ride more after this while Rae sat on one of the benches. The brunette seemed to still have so much energy.
But thats besides the point. It was their turn to get on the ride. Caspian showed the wristband he had on his wrist to the ride operator while Rae showed the other one the band that was on his crutch. Both of the attendants gave them a nod and they went in the cart. Sitting across from each other. Rae laid his crutch behind him after making it shorter so that it would fit.
Everything was going normal, the duo was talking about things, mainly for Rae's sake. The younger was scared of heights so Caspian was mainly distracting him.
Well normal other than the fact that they got stuck at the very top. Of the ride. Without a way to get down.
Rae felt the hitch of the ride as something got stuck. It stopped to abruptly that he jerked forward slightly, sending a wave of panic over him.
"Oh shit- That's not good." He heard Caspian say, concern evident on the older's face.
After a few minutes, Rae looked over the edge of the cart before immediately diverting his gaze back to the floor.
"Oh no- Oh god we're gonna die- we're gonna get stuck here and we're gonnadie" Rae started to spiral, his breathing picked up. Tears started to well in his eyes. Oh how he wished he was back on ground and nOT IN THE AIR- Rae brought his trembling hands to his face, trying to block out any visual things that would possibly make it worse. He was so scared at this moment.
Caspian's face softened as he saw his boyfriend start to freak out. God he felt so bad for making the younger get on this. He reached his hands out for if the other wanted to take them. He started to sing softly to him in an attempt to calm him down.
"You're okay, you're alright. I'll never, ever, leave your side..." Caspian started.
"I will stay, and I will fight. With you..." Rae now glanced up, wiping tears from his eyes gently, he started to hum along with Ghosty softly.
"You're okay.. You're alright~ I'll stay here through the darkest night~" Caspian continued.
"All the way... I will fight~ With you..." Rae joined in at the end. Both of them finish in harmony.
Rae let out a light chuckle. Cas always seemed to find the best ways to calm him down. And in this particular situation, was singing a song from Rae's childhood. One that his mother would sing to him when he was scared. It set a feeling of warmth despite the cold crisp night air around them.
"Thanks love" Rae said softly, looking in to the other's eyes as he wiped his own again. "That really helped.." He said as he took Caspian's hand
"No problem Starshine" The brunette responded, holding on to the other.
They ended up coming down after about another 5 minutes. After which they decided that it had been a long enough day and that they were ready to go home.
Arriving home, Rae put on some pajamas (which were just a purple t-shirt and some grey shorts) and threw himself on to the bed with a soft blanket that was similar in pattern to his cape. It was also purple with various stars, suns, and moons scattered across it.
Ghosty chuckled slightly at the way Rae yeeted himself on to their shared bed. But alas, he threw on a set of pajamas that were similar to Rae's and climbed in to bed next to the ravenette. He held Rae close to his chest, playing with his hair as he hummed a random song to him.
Rae felt content after the hectic day they had, He said one thing to Caspian before he fell asleep in his arms.
"I love you cas..."
"I love you too star"
And with that, they both fell asleep, comforted in each other's presence.
