Unlikely Bonds on the Diamond"

Summary:

in this story Miyuki and Sawamura are going to in the same grade.
Miyuki finds out the classmate who is creating an inner turmoil in him is his new team mate.

As he found himself lost in a whirlwind of thoughts, his inner monologue intensified, each word echoing through the chambers of his mind.

"Why am I so fixated on this? It's just a passing thought, a fleeting admiration. It doesn't mean anything. I've appreciated beauty before, and it never made me question my sexuality. This is no different.”

Chapter 1: New beginnings

Chapter Text

“When will this day end? It is still the opening ceremony ha... So annoying... when will these speeches end? Nobody is going to remember anyway what’s the purpose of it was.” thought Miyuki, a new member of Seidou baseball team.

Very few things interest Miyuki. He doesn't care about anything that is not baseball. He gets just enough grades to get by, so that his practice is not hindered. He was often told that he has one of the worst personalities.

Miyuki sighed as he looked around the auditorium. He was surrounded by hundreds of other students, all of whom seemed to be enjoying the opening ceremony. But Miyuki couldn't help but feel like he was out of place. He didn't care about any of this. All he wanted to do was get to baseball practice and take Chris place as the main catcher of the team.

Miyuki had always been a bit of a loner. He didn't have many friends, and he didn't really care about making any. He was content to spend his time alone, practicing baseball. He was good at it, too. He had been playing since he was a little kid, and he had always dreamed of playing in Koshien.

It was finally the end of the opening ceremony, and he didn’t bother to listen to anyone, he had to check with others for details. Kuramochi Yoichi a boisterous person who he successfully pissed off yesterday after their first day of the practice. However, he has a feeling that they will be the best of friends.

“Ah... Finally!!” sighed Kuramochi as he stretched his arms and legs, clearly relieved that the opening ceremony was over. He glanced over at Miyuki and smirked.

"Hey, Miyuki! Bored to death, huh?" Kuramochi said with a teasing tone.

Miyuki looked at Kuramochi and shrugged. "Yeah, you could say that. I just don't see the point in all these speeches and ceremonies. I didn’t listen to anything BTW who is our homeroom teacher?"

Kuramochi chuckled. "Ah... that young dude you gave the introductory speech, I think he is our math teacher, I guess. Mako something"

“Well whatever...” said Miyuki, dismissing the information about their homeroom teacher. He wasn't particularly interested in the academic side of things, if he could maintain his grades enough to stay on the baseball team.

Kuramochi laughed at Miyuki's indifference. "You really don't care about anything outside of baseball, huh?"

Miyuki nodded. "Pretty much... I am already exhausted.... I can’t do this anymore... I want this day to end”

Kuramochi patted Miyuki on the back. "Eh... What city boy is not used to this???!!”

Miyuki scoffed. "Eh... so feeling left out...be careful they can sniff out people who aren't from here."

“Who are they”

“THEY” smirked Miyuki and left confused Kuramochi

“Wait up you shitty...” Kuramochi screamed as he ran after Miyuki

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miyuki and Kuramochi settled in their seats after referring to their seating charts. He is at the back although not near the window he is fine with place considering Kuramochi is right in front of the teacher’s desk.

Miyuki peered round his classroom and saw the groups being formed. As he began to drift off to his own thoughts their homeroom teacher entered.

The class began their introductions, he gave a perfunctory introduction and waited for others to complete their introductions. As he heard his teammates give passionate introductions, he was cringing internally however he didn’t show on his face. He was bored out of his mind until he heard... this fresh face who is quite adorable person with some accent began introducing himself “hello! I am Sawamura Eijun. umm... From today I will begin my journey as the legendry general who is going to save the class from boredom and the devils... you know what I mean?”

Even before he finished his introduction the class erupted in laughter

“AHHH... wait and see this legendry once in lifetime talent in the scho...”

“Eh... is that so? All the best” said their teacher who began to dread his new homeroom.

Sawamura chuckled and said “in all seriousness I am sure excited to start my high school here and I would like to enjoy to the fullest. Thank you all for your support, and I'm excited to see what this year holds." As he finished his statement, his face lit up with one of the most radiant smiles anyone could offer. Miyuki could see how this might have left many girls in the class swooning over him and Miyuki was struck with a realization that he was trying to bury it deep inside.

Even as the class continued with their introductions, Miyuki couldn’t help but notice the carefree attitude of this mysterious new person. He couldn’t help but glance over there he is totally opposite of him, and he is always surrounded by people. He is just so radiant. They live in totally different worlds which might never intersect what are the chances that this Sawamura Eijun will join the baseball team. The baseball introductions were done yesterday, and he was not there.

I have always been an observer, never the protagonist, and never truly desired to be, at least not in the way I yearned for. But why does he seem disappointed? Wait, why do I seem disappointed? Sawamura Eijun is just any other person who happens to look like an angel and has one of the best smile and probably best personality... No, no... no. NO! he is not thinking about this person with whom he is never going to interact and complimenting another man doesn’t mean anything.

Just as he was going through his identity crisis the bell rang signally and end to their classes and start of their practice.

Miyuki decided to pull himself together as he had a goal in mind, and anything else is just distraction. He didn’t know whom he was trying to convince but he steadied himself for another long hard practice.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They finished their usual rounds when they were asked to assemble for announcements about the upcoming spring tournament and other practice matches. At the end of the announcements, the coach called upon a student who was not present yesterday. "Hello everyone," he said. "My name is Sawamura Eijun. I haven't played much baseball before high school, so I'm not sure what I'm good at. However, I think pitching is interesting, and I would like to become one. Thank you!"

“I am dead!” signed Miyuki

Notes:

I am not really sure about the direction of my fanfic. here in my story they both are in same grade and Sawamura Eijun is not that idiotic and can be generally considered normal.
I am open to all the suggestions.
