As usual, Loki and Thor were fighting. But, unlike all of their other fights, this one was the opposite of serious. Their relationship wasn't the best, but it was better than it was.
Thor swung his hammer at him and Loki turned into a snake and slithered his way across the room and toward Thor who immediately dropped his hammer and screamed like a little girl.
“What's the matter, brother? Are you scared of snakes?” Loki teased as he jumped onto Thor and wrapped his body around the god’s neck.
Thor glared at him before leaving the room and coming back a few seconds later with their mother. “Loki, dear, what have I told you about using your brother’s fear of snakes against him?”
Loki shifted back into his human form and sighed, glaring at Thor (who had stuck his tongue out at him) before giving his mother a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, mother. I was simply doing what he asked of me. He asked me to change into a snake so he could get over his fear of them.”
Their mother chuckled and shook her head. “Just don't break anything. Your father keeps complaining about having to replace everything you two break.”
After their mother had left, Thor and Loki had settled down for the evening. “Shall we continue again next week?” Loki suggested as he held out his hand, a silent confirmation that he was finished playing for the day.
Thor shook his hand and they both went their separate ways, Thor with a confident smile on his face and Loki with a sly smirk.
.
“This is going to be perfect!” Loki mumbled to himself as he stumbled through the Avengers HQ. He looked around, keeping an eye out for Thor so he could surprise him if he didn't see him coming.
Just as he strolled into a lounge, he saw Spider-Man sitting on the couch. He seemed to be nervous about something.
“Hey, Man Spider. Are you doing okay?”
Peter started laughing but quickly stopped himself. “Mr. Stark wants me to go on a mission with him today, but I'm nervous because the last time I've gone on a mission I screwed it up.”
Loki chuckled and patted him on the back. “Don’t you worry, Walking Spider. I'm sure you'll do your best. You always do.”
Just as Loki was about to encourage him some more, something hit his head. His eyebrows furrowed and he looked behind him to see Thor holding a bag of marbles.
“That hurt you know.”
“I know. That's the point.” Thor laughed, throwing more at him.
And just like that the fight had begun.
Loki was throwing marbles and magazines at his brother while Thor laughed his ass off and threw the marbles back at him.
“Hey, what does this do?”
Loki turned to see Spider-Man holding the device he had made to reverse Thor’s aging. “No, don't—” He was too late.
Spider-Man is a baby.
“Oh no,” Loki groaned as he picked up Peter. “What am I going to do now?”
Thor burst into laughter. “I don't know, but have fun!”
Loki sighed and watched his brother leave before turning back to look at Peter. “You just had to touch it, didn't you?” Baby Peter just giggled and smacked Loki on the nose.
With another sigh, Loki made his way to Tony’s office.
.
Loki's thoughts spiraled as he watched Peter play on the carpet in front of him.
“You created this mess and now you have to clean it up,” he told Loki as he and Steve picked up their gear and made their way over to a chopper that was waiting for them. “If anything happens just let the others know.”
With a heavy sigh, Loki ran his hands over his face before looking over at Peter. He was eating some pudding that Loki had found for him. He made a mental note to replace them later. Thor loved his pudding a little too much and would be upset if it didn't get replaced.
“Peter,” Loki began, trying to fake a smile as best as he could. “Look at me!” Loki made funny faces and Peter started giggling.
He would never admit it, but he was cute.
Loki smiled fondly at Peter before picking up a spoon and feeding him some more pudding. “Eat up, Peter. I don't want Tony yelling at me for not feeding you when he gets back.”
Peter swallowed the spoonful of pudding and made a noise that Loki only assumed meant that he loved the pudding. “It's very delicious, isn't it? I'll make sure to get you more later.” He said as he finished fed the last bite to Peter before throwing the plastic cup away.
“Come on, let's go play some more.” Loki picked Peter up and they moved back to the lounge.
The rest of the day went by pretty quickly.
After playing for another hour or so, Loki had fallen asleep with Peter on his chest and they slept the rest of the day away.
“Loki, hey, wake up.” Loki groaned and swatted the hand that was poking his face away.
Wait.
That was Peter’s voice!
He turned to see Peter back to his normal self. The teen was standing over him and was waiting for something.
“Yeah?” Loki replied sleepily.
Peter smiled. “Can I have another pudding?”
Loki returned the smile and followed Peter into the cafeteria. He and Thor could play another day.
