Work Text:
I.
It’s Saturday afternoon and just like clockwork, Jisung, his best friend Chenle, Chenle’s older cousin Renjun, and Renjun’s best friend Donghyuck are gathered in Renjun’s apartment to watch a movie. This time around it’s Chenle’s turn to pick and of course in his true best friend fashion, he chose a horror movie just to spite him.
Good thing he didn’t have to sit through the whole two hours of a scary looking nun popping out of nowhere every now and then. Jisung has soccer training in an hour which wasn’t originally scheduled on a Saturday, but since rain poured so hard yesterday, they have to make up for their missed training.
Chenle took the carpeted floor beside Renjun, leaning on the three-seater cream leather couch Jisung and Donghyuck occupied - both of them sitting on two ends of the couch. Jisung, the scaredy-giant that he is, couldn't help but jump on his seat even with the jumpscare scenes, blaming the unnecessary scary sound effects and Chenle.
Fifteen minutes into the movie and Jisung has his jacket off, leaving him in his thin white shirt when the AC in the apartment is at max. Then he heard Donghyuck before he saw his hyung scooting closer to him with a pitying smile on his face.
“Are you not cold?” Donghyuck mouthed so he wouldn’t disturb the other two watching. Jisung just pointed to his forehead, and Donghyuck quietly giggled as he swiped the thin layer of sweat off the younger’s forehead with his bare hands.
Jisung froze. He’s used to - hated it at the same time - being babied by Donghyuck. He got it that they met each other when they were young, and treated each other as hyung and dongsaengs. But as years passed by, the two year age gap began to disappear, especially when Jisung entered university and did things, experienced moments, and struggled with school as Donghyuck at the same time.
At some point, Renjun commented that Jisung caught the “hyung fever” and Donghyuck seemed to have a babygirl kink. And that was the reason Jisung froze.
After patting his forehead dry, a satisfied smile formed on the older's lips as he styled Jisung's bangs to the side to let cold air touch his forehead Then Donghyuck pressed the side of his body on the younger's, snaking his arm around the closest limb to him and rubbing his cheek on his broad shoulder until he found a comfortable spot to rest it on. Jisung sneaked a look at his hyung and saw or maybe imagined the smile ghosting his lips.
He definitely didn't imagine the smirk his best friend had when Jisung caught him looking at them.
But the moment Chenle turned to focus on the movie again, Jisung pulled his arm Donghyuck was clinging onto and snaked it instead around his hyung's waist.
"Relax." Jisung whispered when he felt his hyung stiffen, "I'm cold."
All Donghyuck remembered while watching the first hour of the movie was his younger friend's large hand splayed on his waist, casually carressing his skin, that the three had to repeat the movie from the beginning for Donghyuck to understand the second half of the movie.
II.
"Where are you?" The other line asked the moment Jisung answered the call.
"Basketball court." Jisung clipped, watching Chenle run to a spot, bent his knees, and jumped as he released the ball from his hands.
"You're watching Chenle again?" Donghyuck cackled.
"I don't know why he asks me to evaluate his skills. We play different sports, for goodness' sake." Jisung raised a hand and gave his best friend a thumbs up when he turned to him, then a middle finger. Chenle thanked him equally.
"Maybe that's exactly why? Maybe he thinks he can get a different perspective from someone in the sports field, but not playing basketball." Jisung strained to hear the other line because it seemed that his hyung was walking and just passed by a bunch of loud students. "Besides, we all know you've got nothing better to do."
"I take full offense. Staying in the dorms is better than this."
"Then I would be walking meters to see you." The older giggled to the phone and to Jisung sitting on the bleachers in front of him, eyes wide like a saucer, mouth slightly parted.
"Don't you have class?" The younger asked when he recovered, removing his backpack from the seat to the floor and scooting to give Donghyuck a space to seat in, when there's plenty of vacant seat. The older kept the observation to himself, sitting beside Jisung.
"I have, but our professor had an emergency so…"
"Hyuckie hyung!" Chenle shouted from across the gym, "Play 1-on-1 with me!"
But Donghyuck just crossed his two arms, forming a big X sign, then gestured 'sleep' with his hands. Jisung knew he's mirroring Chenle's confused expression. What did Donghyuck mean with sleep? Was he too sleepy to play? Did he want to sleep? Here? In the noisy gymnasium? Or was he leaving soon to sleep?
The best friends got their answer when Donghyuck positioned himself lying comfortably on the bleacher, airpods plugged in his ears, eyes closed, arms crossed over his chest, and head on Jisung's lap. Jisung, too stunned and too occupied with staring at the beautiful man laying on his lap, missed the knowing smile of his best friend while he shook his head.
"Don't stare at me too much if you don't want me thinking you liked me, Jisung-ah." Donghyuck opens his eyes, only to confirm that the younger one was indeed looking at him, adoringly if he might add. But what surprised him was instead of Jisung panicking, he just smirked and flicked his forehead.
"Just sleep, hyung." Jisung ordered him using his deep voice as he combed his hair. It's obvious Donghyuck wasn't able to nap nor did he sleep well that night.
III.
"Hyung, I think we missed the last trip." Jisung stated alarmingly after checking the bus schedule displayed in the university's waiting shed.
"You're kidding me, Jisung." When Jisung just silently pointed to the timetable and looked at him desperately, Donghyuck sighed irritably. "You know this is your fault, right?"
A frown formed on the younger's forehead, "Wait. How is this my fault?"
"Why didn't you just take a shower at your dorm? Why did you insist to use the shower here when you can take one at your place? Now, I can't go home."
"Did I ask you to wait for me? I told you, you can go ahead because training will be running late. Now, you're blaming me. Unbelievable, hyung."
"Yah, Jisung-ah. Where are you going?" Donghyuck immediately stood when Jisung walked away from the shed. He isn't really mad at his younger friend, just wanted to annoy him but didn't expect the other to blow up on him. Then he belatedly remembered, Jisung got scolded earlier for bad plays which led to him showering a bit longer than usual.
"Hey, let me just book a taxi. Let's go back to the shed." He reached the other's hand but Jisung immediately pulled away.
"You've had enough cardio for the day, Sung. Just ride the taxi with me." But Jisung kept walking, and so did Donghyuck, keeping a safe distance between them.
It's weekend and the older usually sleeps over at Jisung and Chenle's dorm. Their dorm weren't that far away, but it's still a good 1 and a half kilometer away from their university. Unlike Jisung, Donghyuck wasn't an active person thus walking that far easily took a toll on him.
He was brought back to reality when he hit something-or someone. He lifted his gaze and met the taller's worried eyes.
"I'm sorry, hyung. I didn't mean to lash out on you."
"Apology accepted," Donghyuck replied, pinching the other's nose, " I deserve that."
"Are you already tired?" Jisung worryingly asked.
"Not yet. C'mon, let's just enjoy the chilly night." Donghyuck hooked his arm on Jisung's and pulled him to continue walking beside him.
It didn't last long and the older started breathing heavily. Jisung asked him again, and this time Donghyuck denied being tired. He thought that they just have to stop talking so he could save his breath. But Jisung had other plans.
The younger puts his bag down then crouched to level with his height, the wide expanse of his back facing him, arms poised away and curved like open and close parentheses on each of his side.
"Get on." Jisung once again ordered him, as if he's the older of the two. But Donghyuck didn't mind, if it meant a piggyback ride from Jisung.
He hopped on Jisung's back, arms locked around his neck. He felt the younger's arm under his knees, bouncing him once to place him comfortably on his back. Then he took a step and another and they're walking, or rather Jisung was.
"You don't have to lie to me, you know? You can just tell me how you feel." Jisung muttered under his breath.
"What does that make of me as a hyung if I whine to you?"
"I don't mind. You know I like it when you cling to me, or asks me for help. I like it when you look after me and take care of me. I like doing those things to you too."
Donghyuck thinks this is the perfect time to ask why he’s treated him sweetly ever since he entered college, but the question got lost in his tongue when Jisung caressed his hands.
Somewhere at the back of his mind, he feels like Jisung knows.
IV.
Jisung should have been sleeping in on a perfectly good weather this Saturday, but Donghyuck woke up that morning, startled to be awaken by his alarm clock. Until he realized he had it set up months ago and dragged Jisung with him to the mall for the grand sale of up to 70% the department store was having.
The younger wasn't into shopping, after all he'll only resort to hoodies and sweatpants, but doing it with Donghyuck was fun. So Jisung found himself so many times walking down the now familiar mall, memorized the sequence of the shops his hyung entered to like a game play he and his coach designed.
Donghyuck would buy him some short-sleeve shirts because he thinks Jisung has to stop hiding his lean body underneath his baggy clothes, yet still buys him one or two hoodie or a sweater. They both know Donghyuck will end up wearing it everytime he sleeps over.
In turn, Jisung would buy his hyung their lunch, snacks, and drinks. Like right now, he was standing alone in front of Baskin Robbins, waiting for his turn while the older was checking some clothing stall. Then someone held his wrist and lifted it. Jisung turned to his left and saw Donghyuck placing his arm on his shoulder.
"Let's go home after this. I think I bought enough." The older stated, as his eyes twinkled on the ice cream being scooped into his cup.
As they walked away with paper bags on their arms, Donghyuck felt the younger's arm fell from his shoulder. He didn't mind, but when Jisung placed it back on, pulling him closer, Donghyuck has a big smile on his face that strangers they passed by returns the smile, thinking it's directed to them.
V.
“Where are you?” Donghyuck asked as soon as Jisung picked up his call.
“I’m on my way, you impatient bear.” Jisung informed his hyung, sounding like he’s half-running his way to the field.
“Oh there. I see you. I thought you don’t like the green flannel I bought for you?” Jisung tucked his hair behind his ear at the question. Everyone who knows him knows how many flannel shirts occupied his closet, but what he didn’t like was his hyung buying it for him. They’re not dating or something.
“Well, it looks good on me.” The younger found Donghyuck at the same time a wide fond smile was forming on his hyung’s glowing face. The orange sky from the sun setting was doing wonders on Donghyuck’s beautiful face… and to Jisung’s heart.
“It does, Jisung. I told you, you always look good.” Donghyuck personally complimented the other as Jisung stopped and crouched in front of him.
Jisung shushing him and taking quick glances at the other students sitting nearby sent Donghyuck cackling. The younger swatted his hyung’s hand that was trying to reach his hair to ruffle.
“Why are you so cute, my Jisungie.” Donghyuck continued teasing him, living off of the younger’s cheek that was starting to be tinted with pink.
Jisung threatened him that he will leave him if he doesn’t stop teasing him. Donghyuck, fully well aware that it was not an empty threat, apologized and patted the space in between his legs for the younger to sit on. It’s a weak attempt to cling on Jisung but to his surprise, the younger complied easily and surprised him even by pulling Donghyuck’s arm to wrap around his waist.
“Best seat.” Jisung uttered under his breath as he leaned against Donghyuck’s chest.
+1
It's Finals soon, and the library were currently cramped due to students trying to study and hoping to pass with flying colors or just enough to get them a decent job after graduation.
Even with jampacked room full of students, the library was still unbelievably quiet. Something Donghyuck couldn't stand at all. So, Jisung understood when he felt his hyung squirming on his seat, every now and then. He just lets him be until a piece of paper were slid towards him.
It's been two hours, let's just study at your place. -D
Okay, but let me just finish writing this then we can go home. -J
Jisung chuckled softly when he immediately felt his hyung packed all his things and left to return the book he used.
He didn't know when Donghyuck returned, but when he turned to where he was sitting to his right, his hyung had his hand propped on the table by his elbow, head on his fist, staring at him, smiling sweetly when Jisung caught him.
The younger pretended to ignore it, then an idea crossed his mind. He side-eyed Donghyuck, still staring at him, eyes expectantly looking back at him turned to wide eyes as Jisung tried but failingly winked at him. Not once, but twice. Sending Donghyuck laughing out loud and both of them out of the library when Jisung wiggled his eyebrow.
Back at Jisung and Chenle's place, Donghyuck was able to review his notes well as he can read them out loud. Since Jisung was done with his notes, he grabbed the chance to take revenge (but was it taking revenge when he enjoyed what he's doing) by watching his hyung this time.
Jisung mimicked his hyung earlier, and basked in the delicate beauty that is Donghyuck. He patted himself in his mind for making a good call of opening their curtains instead of the lights looking now at his hyung's honey gold complexion being sun-kissed. The messy black hair matching his eyes, the moles in his face, and the faint red lips moving as he spoke.
Can I call you mine? Jisung wondered and as if on cue, Donghyuck turned to him and to his relief, his hyung only warned him to stop because he's losing concentration. Jisung assumed the other was asking him to stop staring at him.
This just sparked the competitiveness in Jisung and didn't move an inch from his position. Donghyuck, who tried to continue reviewing, exhaled dramatically, turned and leaned, to peck the younger on his cheek.
Donghyuck sat back on his place, continued reading, like nothing happened. He knew the younger stiffen and wouldn't reciprocate the kiss. If Jisung asked him why he did that he'll just chalk it up to him being a prankster, even when all he wanted to do now was to kiss the younger mindlessly.
Seemed like karma was his best friend. He felt a strong but a gentle grip on his wrist and tugged him. Next thing he knew, Jisung's lips were slotted in between his. His heart stopped beating as the younger didn't waste any time and moved. Donghyuck eagerly reciprocated, crawling to his lap, resting each of his legs to his side. He felt two large hands on his hips, squeezing it before pulling him closer to Jisung, their body flushed against each other. Donghyuck thread his fingers between the soft ends of the younger's hair when he felt Jisung's tongue prodding in between his lips for an entrance to which he lets him access with no hesitation.
Jisung's hands found his way underneath his shirt, and were palming every inch of his body that he could get access to.
It took them a moan from Donghyuck as Jisung swiped one of the former's nipples with his thumb. Jisung lets out a cuss seeing the state his hyung was and because of him.
The younger swiped the saliva on the older's chin that could have drooled earlier. This got Donghyuck's attention and surprisingly cleared the lust haze that started clouding his mind.
"Do you mean it?" The older asked, rendering Jisung confused. "Earlier, when you asked me if you could call me yours… Do you like me? More than a hyung?"
"So you heard me," Donghyuck rolled his eyes and tutted, "Yes, I like you for a long time now, and I know how you feel about me, too.”
"So all this time you knew, huh?”
“Yeah, I got afraid too many times to confess.”
“Hmm… If you kiss me again, maybe I'll consi-mmm." Donghyuck lets himself melt around the arms of the other as Jisung gives him a mind-numbing kiss.
Too occupied with each other's mouth, they failed to hear the door opening and closing and to notice Chenle trying to escape the crime scene.
