Chapter Text
Watching the girl next to him sleep, Akito had propped himself up on his elbow and kept his gaze all on her.
Truthfully, he had felt bad when he crawled next to her in bed, curling up like a lost child all over hearing a thunderstorm start outside. Shame for having such a weakness in the first place seeped into his blood and bones. "Go back to sleep", Akito had told Kohane when she stirred and asked if everything was alright. She didn’t need to know of such a trivial weakness.
Even so, as he kept his eyes on the sleeping girl, the thunderstorm seemed to fade from his mind as now it was nothing more than a light shower to him. There was slight guilt stirring within him for letting his eyes linger on her for so long, and the carnation pink on his cheeks at the sight of blonde hair and her peaceful face showed for itself.
He couldn't help it. That was his girl.
Akito shifted closer to Kohane, gently wrapping an arm around her waist as he lightly spooned her. With a half-lidded and tired gaze, he brought his head to rest on her shoulder. She smelled of the coffee she had earlier today and... was that a little bit of his own cologne? It didn't matter right now, he just wanted to let the feeling of her close to him remain.
Every small kiss he pressed to her shoulder and neck he let linger for just a little too long, as he was trying to process that it was all real and tangible. The bashfulness Akito felt over being so soft faded, he already how weak he was over her. But he was only that way... well,
because he couldn't help it. That was his girl, after all.
