Junhee had gone out with Hyunwoo and Taejung, Channie was down in Gwangju visiting Gwangsuk, so Donghun had the apartment all to himself. He decided to make the most out of the unusual quiet since this was the perfect opportunity to work on this song he'd had stuck in his head for weeks. He turned on his sunset lamp, plugged in his microphone and started up his computer, searching for the little voice notes he recorded to try and piece them together into a song.
After about two hours of work of playing around with the melodies, he was quite happy with the instrumental he pieced together. Still unsure of some parts, he decided to play around to try and figure out a vocal melody and maybe some lyrics, leaving the gaps for Yuchan to fill later. He put his headphones back on after a quick stretch and started singing whatever came to his head, getting completely lost in the creative process.
Meanwhile, a tipsy Junhee was entering the apartment, still not tired enough to go to bed. Despite all of his pouting and whining, Hyunwoo and Taejung couldn’t stay out too late because of early morning schedules. So, a whiny, sulky Junhee was dragging himself through the apartment and straight to Donghun’s door as soon as he heard that he was still awake.
“Hyuuuung! They had to leave early and I still want to chat, I have so many things to talk about” Junhee’s voice crept over the music in Donghun’s earphones, and he only now realized that Junhee was back.
“Hmm? I’m trying to finish that song, I promise I’m almost done and we can chat as much as you want then. But please let me finish it or else I think it might drive me insane.” With a soft smile, Donghun hoped he could get Junhee to go take a shower so he could finish the song in peace, but Junhee did not like the idea of leaving.
“Okay, I’ll just sit right here and wait for you to finish.” he grabbed a pillow and chucked it on the floor, sitting down, hugging his legs and resting his chin on his knees, looking at Donghun with a half content, half sad look.
Donghun hummed an okay, put his headphones back on and started working again, but Junhee would not let him work in peace for long. He was getting bored quickly, his tipsy self requesting more and more attention by the minute.
It started with soft pokes at Donghun’s foot, trying to get a reaction, but Donghun was not budging, clearly adamant on finishing this song tonight.
Junhee then got out his phone and turned on some video, laughing loudly at whatever he was watching, clearly disturbing Donghun’s attempts at recording.
“Jun! Stop distracting me, please. I’ll be done in 5 minutes and you will have all my attention then." Donghun snapped, but not harshly and Junhee’s eyes immediately lit up.
“Can we cuddle and put on some silly show then?” he looked at him with pleading eyes that were starting to show more and more tiredness.
Donghun smiled gently at him, brushing a strand of hair out of his eyes.
“Of course we can.”
