Chapter Text
"I was beginning to think becoming a Death Eater was all I had to look forward to in this life. That was until I met Harry. He was so broken, so full of woe. And yet, when his face lit up, it was like there was nothing else in this world other than those bright, falsely innocent eyes. So reminiscent of his mother, yet to me, it was all him. I want to take away his pain, yet I was suffering too. I had to play the role, or else I risked my entire family being killed. But, when he showed up, battered and bruised all over, in my home and my aunt asked me to make sure it was really the boy who lived, I lied immediately in order to keep him safe. I knew those eyes, that messy hair of his father's that never seemed to calm down no matter how many layers of gel he slathered in it. Yet, to them, I was clueless and didn't recognize his distorted, swollen features. I lied so convincingly they hesitated, and he was able to fight back and escape. I lied to give my future, and his future a chance. I knew we would never fall in love in this time, in this world, how it was. But, by lying, I hoped one day, somehow, somewhere, we would find each other and in turn, find our own happily ever after.
