I'm Peggy Carter. I'm the director and co-founder of SHIELD, the successor of the SSR.
In 1947, Chief Jack Thompson, of the Strategic Scientific Reserve Manhattan HQ, was shot dead in a motel in Los Angeles, California. SHIELD has no leads on the assassin.
It is now 1949.
In the meantime, Howard is running tests on the tesseract, Hank is working on inventions, and I'm hoping…no…praying that the man I keep seeing around where I am is…or is not…
The man sits down across from her, and there's no mistaking those blue-green eyes. It's him.
"you're late."
"I know, Peg…"
"You owe me a dance, my darling."
Steve grins. "I've been waiting a long time for this."
"For what?"
"Our forever."
In Peggy's house, Peggy turns on the record player and Steve goes through the vinyl records and finally finds the one he was looking for. Harry James, it's been a long, long time.
They clear a space in the living room and Steve leads the dance, accidently stepping on her toes. She laughs, and he leans down to kiss her. He's been waiting for this since 1945.
Forever is a long time
