Another Visit To The Park

Summary:

Ever since meeting in the local park as kids, Tenko and Izuku have been inseparable. Friendship grew into love and before they knew it, they were days away from their wedding.

Izuku wants their day to be perfect, which led to him obsessing over every little detail. Tenko finally has enough and cuddles his soon-to-be husband on their couch and calms him down, assuring it will be the perfect day.

Then he sends a few messages in his group chat to make sure it will...

Todays Prompts are 'Wedding Day', 'Cuddling', and 'Domesticity'

This story is also a sequel to the Day 1 fic/art, 'It's Your Turn!' that shows how Izuku and Tenko met on the playground as kids.

Work Text:

“Izuku Midoriya, put that tablet down or I swear I’m going to decay it right out of your hands,” Tenko said as he chased his fiance around their shared living room.  He hated that Float kept him from reigning his current Bridezilla of a partner in.  Stupid high cathedral ceilings.

Their plans had already been finalized for their wedding ceremony and reception, but Izuku had gotten as obsessed with the details as he did with his hero and quirk analysis.  Now, he felt the need to make sure every single part of their wedding had been reviewed again (even twice!), and then refinalized.  The younger man had hardly slept in the week leading up to their big day, and Tenko finally saw it necessary to put his foot down.

“But the seating arrangement is all wrong!” Izuku yelled out as he set the tablet down on top of the nearest bookcase before his fiance made good on his threat.  “I just wanted to check one more time on the seating arrangements and there is no way it will work and will only lead to our guests clashing with who they’re seated with and making a scene!”

Tenko knew his future husband well enough that he’d eventually drift back down to the ground and gave him the space to do so.  Once he was on solid ground again, Tenko carefully grasped his fiance’s shoulders, his touch giving him the tether he needed to get through his current panic.

“You don’t understand, this has Kacchan and Shindo at the same table, they can’t stand each other, Ten!  It’s going to end with either an explosion or an earthquake, possibly both!”

Without hesitation, Tenko scooped up his fiance in a fitting bridal style before sitting himself on their couch, Izuku stunned and still in his lap.  “I know you’ve been wearing yourself out to make sure this whole day is perfect, and it’s going to be just that, so stop panicking,” Tenko said as he held Izuku gently against his chest.

“Our day will be perfect, because along with all of the work you put into it, no one we invited would dare to act like an idiot for our special day.  So let the powder kegs full of ego sit at the same table.  They know better than to act up at our wedding.”

Tenko tucked Izuku closer to him then, knowing that he’d stayed awake far too long while also knowing the best way to relax his future husband was to hold him close and share their warmth.  And sure enough, he felt Izuku relax against him, comfortable and safe, which was all Tenko ever wanted to provide him.

While Izuku slept calmly against him, Tenko fired off a few messages in his wedding group chat.

Their wedding day was perfect in every sense of the word.  The sun was out and the temperature was comfortably warm with a slight breeze as they recited their vows in the public park near Izuku’s childhood home.  It was there that they’d first met and played heroes together, and held a special place in their hearts.

As they kissed at the end of the ceremony, no one noticed the villain with a mutating snake quirk slithering their way to the altar and being quickly subdued by Hawks’ Fierce Wings.  As he stood and clapped for the happy couple, his deadly feathers swooped in and carried the villain to the entrance of the park.  From there, the security crew posted there took the would-be wedding crasher into custody.

Not accustomed to attending weddings, Shouto Todoroki didn’t think it was wrong to ask his closest friend to dance once they reached the reception venue.  It was supposed to be a party, right?  And people dance at parties, so once the DJ announced the first dance was about to take place, Shouto took that as permission to ask Izuku to the dance floor.

Just before he reached where Tenko and Izuku were, chatting with other guests, Shouto felt an arm surround him as he was suddenly turned away from the newly married couple.  He looked up to see his oldest brother, Touya leading him to the dining area.  “Sorry little bro, but you’ll have to wait your turn.  This dance is theirs and theirs alone.”

Shouto eventually got to dance with Izuku, with Denki partnering up with Tenko while keeping a close eye on his dual-haired crush.  Seeing the obvious, Tenko waited until the song was over before pulling the electric blonde over to the other two.  “Time to switch,” Tenko said as he gently pulled Izuku to his side before pushing Denki into Shouto’s arms.  He watched as the two clueless idiots blushed and started to slow dance with the next song.

Dinner was completely uneventful with everyone happily enjoying the entrees and drinks from the open bar.  Izuku was sipping his champagne after the toast, chatting up Uraraka, so he failed to notice the beginnings of an altercation between Katsuki and Shindo.

Before Katsuki could let his quirk even start to spark up, he felt it disappear, and with it the anger the dark-haired man had set off in him as he noticed Aizawa’s eyes glowing red and directed at him.  He noticed that Shindo realized what happened as well, staring at his hands and back at the older pro hero.

Once he was satisfied the two were done, Aizawa released his quirk and gave them a glare that told them to get their shit together and chill out.  The two knew well enough to take that warning to heart and ignored each other for the rest of the evening.

The guests trickled out slowly and before they knew it they were ushered into a limo that would take them home.  Waving goodbye from the lowered window to the last of their guests, Izuku grinned, his heart nearly bursting with how joyful and happy he felt.  He raised the window before settling himself beside his new husband, Tenko raising his arm to let Izuku tuck himself against his side.

“This day, our day, it really was perfect, Ten,” Izuku said as little tears welled in his eyes as he smiled.

“Of course it was, because it was always going to be perfect,” Tenko replied as he kissed the top of Izuku’s head.  He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and brought it out.  He grinned as he saw the comments and pics left by Keigo, Touya, and Aizawa in the group chat.  The picture of the snake guy looking embarrassed while being held up by tiny red feathers got a chuckle out of Tenko, with Izuku asking him what was so amusing in response.

As he threw a Thumbs Up emoji into the chat and put his phone away, Tenko hugged his arm around Izuku tighter.  “Nothing much, just a funny meme one of our friends sent.  So remind me, when do we leave for the honeymoon?”

He felt Izuku tense up against him before suddenly jumping out of his embrace.  “Fuck!  I was so focused on the wedding, I didn’t even think about a honeymoon!”

All Tenko could think of during their ride home was ‘oh boy, here we go again.’
