Work Text:
Evan was finally able to return a week later for her next shift, now with more pictures of the remaining kittens in her home to show the boys. See, two of her cats had gotten pregnant, as well as one of her housemates'. Out of the three litters, there were five remaining kittens out of the original nine. Almost every kitten she'd chosen as her own had passed, but there was one little girl left of her own, and Evan was determined to love and protect her one little survivor as much as she possibly could.
Evan pushed open the daycare doors, feeling a bit better than she had a few days ago. She glanced around the large room before calling out, "Sunny, Moonie, where are you guys?"
At her voice, the two animatronics popped out onto their balcony, smiles wide upon seeing her.
"Daffodil!"
"Nightingale!"
They exclaimed at the same time, Moon hooking onto his wire while Sun dived into the ballpit, shooting out to make his way towards her. The two held their favorite human in their arms, nuzzling her hair.
"How are you feeling, sunshine? Any better today?" Sun asked softly as he pressed a kiss to her forehead, loving her little giggle as he did so.
"A little, yeah. I no longer blame myself, at least, and that's a start," she hummed softly, "Oh, but I do have more to share with you, if you'd like to see before the kiddos get here."
"We'd love to, starlight. We still have about half an hour, so we have a little time." Moon's smooth voice filled her ears as he pressed a kiss to the back of her head, gently picking her up as Sun let go, connecting to his own wire quickly as they took her up to their room.
Moon gently sat on the mattress, legs crossed as he plopped Evan into his lap, nuzzling and holding her as he let out soft little purrs. Sun followed suit, sitting cross legged and gently holding one of Evan's hands. "So, what did you want to show us, sunshine?"
The girl pulled out her phone from her pocket, pulling up the pictures of the remaining kittens. "There's Pandora and Alice, from Persephone's litter. There's Artemis, one of my cats, with Cassiopeia and Romeo. Cassie is my little girl. I named her and her sister kind of after you both," she admitted with a soft blush.
"After us, star?" Moon asked softly, gently playing with her hair.
Evan nodded, a soft smile dancing on her lips, "I named my first little girl Andromeda, after your favorite galaxy, Moonie." She quickly swiped to another picture, pointing to little Andi before she had passed. "Then, I named Cassiopeia after the constellation, cause I remembered Sun and I talking about the stars with the kiddos one day, and he said it sounded like a pretty name."
The two bots melted upon her words, snuggling her even closer as they gently peppered her face in kisses. "Oh, sunshine, you're just the sweetest! Sweeter than all the sundrop candies in the whole world!"
Moon's purrs grew louder in agreement as he gently kneaded her sides and belly like a cat, which made her relax even further.
"Well, you two are important to me. Of course I'd incorporate you into their names," she smiled, "There's still one more litter to show you. That's Chip, my other mama kitty, and these little guys are Barnaby, Beanie, Huey, and Juliet." Evan pointed to each kitten as she named them off, her smile turning sad. "Barnaby and Huey were mine. At first it was just Barnaby and Beanie that had passed, but then Huey did the next day. I had stayed up all night with her, feeding her, making sure she was warm and breathing. She seemed to be doing good, but I had something important to do and trusted one of my housemates to look after her. She'd been helping out, and seemed to do well, so I thought it'd be alright." The woman paused in her story, sighing softly before continuing, "She was dead before I even came back."
"Oh sweetheart.." the bots both said, softly kissing her head while rubbing her back and arms. "We're so sorry, daffodil," Sun murmured, gently pulling Evan into his lap for his turn of cuddles. Moon pressed in close, snuggling both Sun and their little human.
"I'll be alright.." she said softly, giving a sad smile. "They're all playing together, now. That thought helps me a lot."
"We're glad, little dove. We want you to be alright," Moon gently took Evan's free hand and kissed her palm, causing the woman to blush a little.
"Thank you, Moonpie. You too, Sunbeam. I will be."

Two weeks later, Evan had felt a lot better. She'd come to terms with her grief, all with the help of her two favorite boys. Her feelings for the two had gotten so much stronger over the past couple of weeks. Sure, she crushed on the couple big time before. They never failed to make her laugh, feel cared for, they always listened and knew when she didn't feel the best. Plus, with her standing at a mere 4'11, she was tiny compared to the 8 feet tall animatronics. She liked their size differences more than she cared to admit.
But, with all the love and comfort they've been giving her, all the sweet touches and little kisses she'd received from them, how could her heart not pound faster at the thought of them?
Evan couldn't help but smile as she walked into the daycare doors, using her badge to unlock them. It was Sunday, which meant the daycare was closed, so she had brought a surprise for the boys.
"Sorry friend, but the daycare's clo-.. Daffodil!" Sun ran up to her as she carefully set her bag down, picking her up and spinning her in a hug. "What are you doing here?" He asked excitedly, kissing her forehead.
"Well, Sunnyhunny, I brought a surprise for you and Moon," she giggled, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. "Can you get him for me?"
"Of course, just one moment, sunshine!" He gently set her down and ran off, connecting to his wire and flying up to his and his moonlight's room. He moved to gently shake him out of rest mode, kissing his cheek. "Moonlight, our star is here."
At his words, Moon's eyes shot open. "She is?" Sun giggled and gave him a small kiss, "Yes, Moonie, she's down in the daycare waiting for us."
Sun had never seen Moon get out of bed so fast. He laughed as his love quickly went to the balcony, connected to a wire, and flew down to the daycare floor where Evan awaited them by the security desk.
"Moonpie!" Evan smiled as he picked her up and nuzzled her cheek. "Good morning, starlight. What do we owe the pleasure of seeing you on your day off, hm?"
"Oh, I had a surprise for you both," she explained, smile growing as Sun moved behind Moon, hugging his waist and laying his head on Moon's shoulder, smiling at her.
After a quick squeeze, the bots gently let go, setting Evan back on the ground.
Turns out, what Evan had brought wasn't just a bag, but a carrier. She opened the carrier, and the smallest mew could be heard. Sun and Moon's eyes widened as she pulled out little blanket, followed by a small gray cat and her baby gray kitten.
"I asked management and they said since cleaning will be later today that it'd be alright. I decided, maybe you'd like to meet Cassie. I also brought Artemis, so she didn’t get too stressed." Evan smiled softly, gently petting both cats.
Arti, for once in her life, decided to behave and stay put, taking in the new environment as Evan scritched her ears. She let out a few soft meows, purring away as she nuzzled her human's hand before leaning down to lick at the little furball next to her. Cassie, eyes now open, tried her best to stand next to her mama, wobbling a little. The kitten was just over three weeks old.
"Sunshine…she's so tiny.." Sunny murmured in awe, blue optics shining.
"You both can pet them, or even hold them, if you'd like," Evan gently pet the kitten using her finger, smiling. "I know you keep your hands clean, and that you'd be super careful. Just let Arti sniff at you first."
The bots nodded, gently holding out their large hands towards the mama cat. She leaned to sniff at both a moment before nuzzling into them, making both Sun and Moon smile wide. Sun's rays were fluttering in excitement as she gave a little lick to his finger.
"Starlight, are you sure it's alright?" Moon asked, slightly worried. They'd never held a living thing so small. "Of course, Moonie. I wouldn't have brought them if I was worried." She gently touched his arm, earning a soft smile from the lunar animatronic.
"Here, I'll hold Cassie and hand her to you, okay? Sun can go next, but he's playing with Arti," Evan giggled softly as she looked to Sun, watching him as he used his fingers to gently tickle the mama cat and play with her, Arti chasing and gently bopping his fingers on the desk as her tail swished playfully.
Moon smiled at his love, seeing how gentle he was being, before turning back to Evan with a nod. With that, the woman gently picked up the baby kitten, who immediately began to mew, which caught mama's attention.
"Don't worry, Arti, she's right here and safe." Evan spoke to her cat, who just slow blinked at her before continuing to play with Sun. Moon chuckled, smiling softly at Evan and murmuring, "You're a good mother, starlight."
Sun froze beside him, blushing a bit as his rays spun a little, a moment passing before Moon noticed his phrasing. The lunar bot's face flushed a pretty blue before he made a noise resembling to someone clearing their throat.
Evan's face was also flushed as she gently held her kitten, "T-Thank you, Moonpie." She gently held out the baby towards him, her chest warming as he took the little kitten into his hands with the utmost care. Sun was also watching now as Cassie mewled in his palm, seeming extra tiny in his large hands.
"So so small…such a tiny little thing, huh Moonie?" Sun murmured, gently using a finger to pet the little darling.
Moon was already in love with the little baby, but he fell even deeper when she looked up at him, following Sun's gentle petting on her head.
Evan's heart nearly burst as the two fawned over Cassie, petting Arti as she kept a close eye on her baby. "Good mama," the woman whispered to her cat, gently picking her up and kissing her head.

About an hour later, Sun and Moon sat in their room as they watched Evan carefully situate the carrier, making sure Arti and Cassie were comfortable as Cassie fed. After a long internal debate, she finally allowed Moon to slowly lift them up via the wire instead of her using the stairs. Sun had begged her to stay longer when the cats started to get tired, so she agreed. Honestly, they could ask her to move in, and if she could bring her pets, she'd be there in a heartbeat.
Evan smiled, satisfied in her work before giving the two a quick pet before moving to the bed, sitting in between the two bots. Sun was quick to pull her into his lap, rays fluttering as Moon cuddled them both.
This was when Evan felt most at peace, in between Sun and Moon. It was almost as if she was meant to be there. She closed her eyes, sighing happily and relaxing into the two bots.
Sun and Moon shared a small look, having a silent conversation before turning back to the human in their arms.
"Nightingale? We have something to tell you," Moon spoke softly into her hair, pressing a soft kiss there.
"Hm? What is it?" She asked softly, eyes still closed as she nuzzled more into them.
"Well, daffodil..we've been thinking a lot lately. About you."
Evan blushed as she froze a bit in their hold, "Oh? About me..?"
"Yes, little starlight," she could feel Moon smile into her hair as he murmured, "We've known since the first time we saw you that you were special."
"That you were meant…well, meant for us."
Sun's words caused her eyes to shoot open. She looked up at the two, blush growing as her eyes danced between them. The two bots just smiled down at her, Moon gently playing with her hair as Sun drummed his fingers softly on her back.
"Evan, our sweet sunshine, we..we love you." The solar bot kissed her forehead as he spoke, "Please.." he trailed off, leaving Moon to pick up his plea, the lunar bot holding her hand and gently rubbing her knuckles with his thumb.
"Please say you love us too."
All Evan could do was nod, smiling wide as tears welled in her eyes. "You silly boys, of course I do. I have since the day we met, and I'll love you until the day I die."
With that, Sun quickly pressed his lips to hers, kissing her sweetly for a few moments before pulling away, only for Moon to steal her lips away from breath once more, pulling her into his lap.
The three cuddled and shared sweet kisses for a few more hours. The boys whined as Evan got up to leave, even if only because she needed to get the cats home.
"I'll be here tomorrow, my loves," she kissed them both, holding their faceplates in her hands, "I promise."
