The blokes at the gym would say that Cooper's got quite a temper, but as he's one of them and he's damn good at boxing they give him a pass. That, until that newbie comes along and insults start flowing back and forth. That twit is both unnerving and amusing and they tolerate him because Dave likes him.
Probably, that this kid fucked Cooper's mom gives Cooper an undeniable reason to be so angry at him. (Skewed sense of priorities among the gang: wow, that's son against unspoken rules, and at the same time, so ballsy to have done it nonetheless!)
Yet for Cooper to pick on smaller and so much weaker than him, is frowned upon, and when he turns his bad temper on the blokes and even on the Coaoch, well then, no more excuses, for everyone Cooper is a twat, period.
