Confusion, Anger, Betrayal.
These were some of the emotions aether felt as he stood there, unable to move as his sister leaves him. Nothing feels real, he can’t comprehend what had just happened.
His lost sister, lumine.
No longer lost, but not found either.
Paimon was talking to him, but he couldn’t hear a single thing she said.
Something about leaving? He doesn’t know.
Everything’s a blur, how long as he been standing here? how long has it been since she left? He doesn’t know. All he can hear is the overbearing silence, and the muffled voice of his travel companion.
Is this a dream? No, it can’t be. He was fighting. Is just really lucid? He wished it was. He wished he never followed dainsleif.
He wish he never found lumine.
He’s been wishing, wishing for the day he’d find his sister.
Suddenly, he wishes he didn’t. he wished that they met under better circumstances. He wished she had nothing to do with the abyss order. He wished she was as happy to see him as he was to see her. He wished they left this planet, and that was it.
But it wasn’t.
she was his enemy.
His beloved sister, was no longer the girl he recognized. She was somebody else. She wasn’t his sister. No, that’s not true. That was his sister. Maybe she’s brainwashed, maybe she’s just under control? maybe she-
Aether was cut out of his trance by a tiny body throwing itself at him, causing him to lose his balance, and fall to the stone cold floor.
“AETHER! Snap out of it!” Paimon cried, she was hugging him, well, as best as she could with her size. She was crying, and aether felt his heart drop from such a sad sight.
“Aether, please stop it, you’re scaring me!” Paimon spoke with such pain, it made aether think back to the time lumine was taken away from him, But now was not the time for that. He needed to get out of here.
“I’m here, paimon. I’m here, i’m sorry for scaring you.” Aether gently held his small companion, gently reassuring and apologizing to paimon. He was too caught up in his own thoughts to realize how distressed paimon was, she seemed quite worried for him, which made his mind a little more at ease, for someone so seemingly immature, she was an amazing comfort when the situation called for it.
“You scared me! Paimon thought you were going to stand there forever!” Paimons sad demeanour quickly changed from worried to angry, rightfully so. Aether chuckled from her behaviour, and patted her head. “Sorry, sorry. I got caught up in my own head. Its just..” Aether trails off, looking up, and staring at the stone wall, the events that just happened playing in his mind.
“Paimon knows it must be really hard for you right now, but we should get out of here..” Paimon speaks, still creeped out by the upside down statue next to them.
“Yeah, we should.” Aether gets up, pulling the other traveler with him. Paimon quickly goes to lead the way, obviously eager to get out. Aether follows not too far behind her, trying not to look around and get lost in his own thoughts again. They soon make it out, the morning sun greeting the two travellers.
“I’ve never been so happy to see the sun!” Paimon almost yells in excitement. Aether laughs at her enthusiasm, and speaks.
“We should go get something to eat, any suggestions, paimon?” Paimon immediately starts drooling at aethers words, probably thinking of 20 dishes she wants in the moment.
“well, I say we should go to xianlings restaurant! They have a lot of the dishes paimon’s craving!” Paimon says, dragging aether along, eager to make it to liyue harbour as fast as possible.
“Alright, guess we’re going to liyue harbour then!” aether laughs, letting paimon drag him along the path.
Maybe he’ll face the problem of his sister when it happens, Maybe he can understand her actions through time. after all, she’s have a good reason for all of this.. right?
