Chapter Text
Cody didn’t really like being in Wawanakwa. For an All Star season, it sure didn’t feel like it.
To elaborate, the teams were themed by Heroes versus Villains. The heroes team composed of himself, Lindsay, Sierra, Cameron, Mike, Zoey, Anne Maria, and Brick while the villains had Heather, Scott, Duncan, Jo, Lightning, Courtney, Gwen, and later revealed Alejandro. The first challenge was to jump off the cliff to the water and get the right key for the Spa Hotel and one person had to be a pusher for their team. Brick and Jo ended up being the pushers for their team.
The challenge didn’t end so well for Cody’s team tonight, tonight the heroes had to eliminate their first teammate out of the game. The options were between Brick for getting too tired to push after overexerting himself, Lindsay for taking so long to find a key, and Sierra for accidentally sitting on Anne Maria.
Cody really didn’t want Sierra gone as they grew to become friends so he was hoping to eliminate someone else instead. He figured Lindsay should go due to her incompetence but Brick was a wild card since he barely knew him.
As he was contemplating, he found himself bumping into someone. After falling on his butt, he looked up to see who he bumped into and saw it was the season four antagonist, Scott.
“Watch it geek.” Scott said pointedly, clearly annoyed at what just happened.
“Dude, chill out.” Cody said, also a little annoyed with the dirt farmer’s attitude, “I’m the one that fell in the end, so you clearly weren’t too affected by this.”
“It’s easy when you actually have muscle.” Scott smirked mockingly at the geek and Cody found himself flaring up at this, he dealt with Alejandro and Duncan’s antics in season three and he was not going to deal with Scott’s too.
“Oh I’m sorry, I can hardly hear you through the stench emanating from your armpits.” Cody glared angrily at his competition.
“That’s all you got?” Scott raised an eyebrow, the smirk still plastered on his face, “I grew up in a dirt farm. Bad smells do not faze me.”
“Ugh, whatever. I gotta think about the votes anyway.” Cody grunted in annoyance.
“Ah yes. The elimination.” Scott put a finger up to his chin, “My personal recommendation is to ditch Brick. His rivalry with Jo does not benefit you at all and you hardly know him.”
Cody raised an eyebrow at this explanation Scott gave him and leered suspiciously at him, “Why are you telling me this? What do you gain from helping me?”
“Because the rivalry between him and Jo is a two-way hindrance for both teams.” Scott rolled his eyes before his mouth formed another smirk, “Plus you actually have some fire in you. I kinda like it.”
Scott then left Cody alone to contemplate what he just said, did one of the villains just COMPLIMENT him?!
Cody didn’t have time to dwell on that, for now he talked to Sierra and got her to vote off Brick, however, the Revenge Of The Island contestants seemed to overrule this decision because Sierra ended up being eliminated instead. Cody bid her a fond farewell after she was unceremoniously sent down a giant toilet called “The Flush Of Shame”. Ewwwwwwwwww. Lightning then ended up volunteering for exile on Boney Island to find the invincibility statue.
The next challenge was to dig up puzzle pieces in the sand and form them into a location from World Tour while avoiding hidden booby traps. Despite Lindsay’s lack of digging skills and Anne Maria’s unwillingness to get sand in her nails, the rest of the team did fairly well for themselves with Brick, Zoey, and later Manitoba’s help(he was Mike’s alter for clarity’s sake), they were able to do as good as the villains who mainly just argued a lot, mostly Heather, Jo, Courtney, and Duncan though.
At one point, Jo tried to steal one of their pieces by digging it up, but Manitoba caught her. Though he was soon knocked out due to Jo trying to swing bees that she accidentally released with her shovel. Mike ended up regaining consciousness but could not find Manitoba in his head which was strange.
After Zoey and Mike’s help, they won immunity and the villains had to vote, but first he had to confront a certain someone.
He then found Scott at the beach and immediately confronted him, “Hey, what the heck was that about?” Cody asked angrily.
“What are you talking about?” Scott scoffed, clearly confused about the situation.
“You know what happened. Jo literally tried to sabotage our team earlier.” Cody said accusingly, “You realize we’re gonna be more on-guard now, right?”
“Relax short stuff. I’m aware of what happened.” Scott rolled his eyes, “Believe me, seeing what Jo tried to do, I’m not planning on any sabotages backfiring on me. Besides, I’m busy trying to woo a certain brunette.”
Cody wasn’t sure who he was talking about before remembering who was on the villains’ team.
“Wait, Courtney?!” Cody asked incredulously, “I wouldn’t be too sure about trying for her dude. She’s kinda controlling and pretty messed up over the Gwen and Duncan thing.”
“She has to get over it eventually.” Scott scoffed before raising an eyebrow, “Hey, aren’t you into gothie?”
“Not really. I got over her a year ago.” Cody shrugged.
“Don’t tell me you hooked up with stalker girl?” Scott said in disgust.
“She’s not a stalker…” Cody began before seeing the deadpan look in Scott’s face, “…anymore, but no, she’s just my friend.”
“I see.” Scott gave Cody a scrutinizing look before he shrugged, “Oh well. I’ll be voting now.”
At the elimination ceremony, Cody got to watch with his team on who would be leaving, it came down to Jo and Lightning at the end, and while Jo did a lot to annoy her team, the villains found Lightning a bigger annoyance and eliminated him. Lindsay soon volunteered for Boney Island.
The next challenge was basically paintball with leeches, and whoever got seven points would win the challenge. The first part of the challenge was to race to the heart of the forest to get the Leechball equipment. The villains ended up taking a shortcut and got the big crate while they were stuck with the little crate. The villains ended up getting paintball guns and a cannon, and they just got slingshots.
Lindsay wasn’t doing too good after Boney Island, so Cody volunteered to guard her in a cave so that he could hide and hopefully avoid any villains.
However, Jo ended up finding them and in his panic, he ended up using Lindsay as a shield. He was so close to being leeched but Zoey thankfully saved them and got their team the win, but Chris made a big effort to call out Cody for his “villainous behavior”. Cody didn’t find his mistake a big deal but pretty much everyone except Zoey did, even when Cody tried to apologize, Lindsay, Anne Maria, and Brick shot him disapproving looks while Mike and Cameron were more wary of him.
At the elimination ceremony, it was revealed Lindsay’s lip gloss was smashed and she immediately accused Cody since he used her as a shield, and Cody angrily lashed out, saying how he did not do anything to her lip gloss. The team at least was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt about THAT but Lindsay was still annoyed.
Jo was predictably eliminated for shooting Scott with a cannon(accidentally but it was still stupid), and costing the challenge and soon Chris gave an announcement.
“So today, one villain acted like a hero, and one hero acted like a villain. So pack your bags and switch your teams, Cody and Duncan!”
Cody and Duncan both gasped in shock at this, and Cody immediately spoke up, “I’m not a villain though!”
“And I definitely don’t want to be a lame hero.” Duncan scoffed.
“Yeah yeah, blah blah. Just DO it.” Chris said impatiently.
As Cody switched teams, he tried to think of the good and bad things about this swap, on the good side, he’d be on the same team with Heather and Gwen plus he’d get away from Lindsay’s annoying grudge on him, two guaranteed allies, and on the bad side, he’d have to deal with Alejandro and Courtney again. Cody then found himself sitting at the nearest stump which was next to Scott.
“Hey, new teammate.” Scott elbowed the geek with a teasing smirk which unnerved Cody.
He honestly didn’t know how to feel about being on the same team as Scott.
When he woke up at the losers’ cabin with Alejandro and Scott the next day, he was not pleased to have powdered gruel thrown at him and his teammates.
“Uggggggggh. It ruined my shirt and it’s all over my face.” Cody complained in annoyance as he got up from his bed.
“Oh come on, it’s not that bad.” Scott said nonchalantly, “I grew up on this stuff. It’s pretty good.”
Cody found that super weird but he knew better than to judge, Scott did say he grew up with this.
“Whatever. It’s not for me though.” Cody grunted.
Scott then slid his finger down Cody’s cheek and slurped the gruel off of his finger once he was done.
“You clean up real nice.” The dirt farmer complimented before walking off, “I’m gonna go see if the girls are willing to give me any of that.”
Cody’s eyes widened at Scott as he exited, before turning to Alejandro.
“What was that all about?” Cody asked incredulously.
“I have no idea.” Alejandro shrugged.
After the rain cleared, the challenge was to go through the Mad Skillz obstacle course from last season after eating some giant pancakes for a limited amount of time. The team that finished the whole pancakes would win the challenge and the ones who barfed were out of the challenge.
After Scott opened his mouth about how that wouldn’t be so hard, Chris added a salad spinner at the end of the course which Cody was quick to comment on.
“Great job Scott. Now this challenge is going to be even more difficult.” Cody said pointedly.
“It’s not my fault the host is so sadistic.” Scott rolled his eyes before smirking at Cody, “You’re kinda cute when you’re mad.”
“Dude…” Cody walked away from his spot next to Scott and opted to stand next to Heather instead.
Anne Maria and Alejandro were first to try the challenge, Anne Maria immediately barfed after realizing she was eating fish eyes. Alejandro completed the course, but he did throw up in his mouth.
Next to participate was Cameron, who was attacked by raccoons in the pancakes and didn’t even do the course due to the boot kicking him too far but Chris allowed it because it was funny to him.
Scott seemed to have a stomachache due to the gruel he ate but Courtney was able to get him to participate due to her yelling, but Cody definitely noticed that he wasn’t very enthused about it, weird.
Scott went through the course relatively unharmed but his gut did hold him back a bit.
Duncan and Gwen were next to go, and while Gwen barfed because she ate too much, Duncan went through the course with puffed up lips.
Mike was next to go, and he was pretty much blasted into the spinner without warning. After that, it was Courtney’s turn and the salad spinner went on the Fritz or something because she went flying out of that thing.
Zoey and Heather went next and nothing much happened, they went through the pancakes and the course with relative ease.
Cody was the last villain they had to send before anyone could go again, so that’s what he did and he began eating the pancakes, but Lindsay was holding a big grudge on him for the makeup so she pushed aside Brick to go herself.
Lindsay was eating the pancakes fast, even a hive of bees wouldn’t stop her and Cody was trying to keep up, but fire ants ended up halting his progress.
“Come on man! You can do it!” He then heard Scott cheer out.
“Don’t bother. This weakling could not beat me in a jousting match, we’re screwed.” Alejandro rolled his eyes as he stood on his hands.
“He’s our only chance of winning this, idiot.” Scott glared at the Spaniard before calling out, “Cody, are you seriously gonna let yourself be screwed over because of a crime you didn’t commit. Win this already!”
Cody perked up after that and was able to finish the last of his pancake, he and Lindsay had a close race to the salad spinner and they were neck and neck. After the spinner stopped, Cody tried to crawl out of the exit but before he could, Lindsay grabbed him by the underwear.
“No way am I letting some makeup destroying meanie pants win this!” Lindsay cried out angrily and Cody had just about enough of this. He was already treated like a joke by this show, he was not about to be treated like crap over a stupid lip gloss.
“I did not destroy your makeup!” Cody kicked Lindsay in the face, forcing her to drop the geek, and soon he landed on the ground, winning the challenge for the villains.
After the challenge, he decided to stay in the Spa Hotel but before he could get inside, he was immediately yanked by the back of his shirt by Anne Maria and tossed to the ground, he was face to face with Anne Maria, Cameron, Mike, and Lindsay.
“What’s going on?!” Cody cried out before Anne Maria began glaring at the geek.
“Don’t give us that crap! Why the heck do you gotta be so harsh on Lindsay?!” Anne Maria asked furiously.
“What are you talking about?” Cody said in annoyance as he picked himself up.
“You literally kicked her in the face today and used her as a human shield yesterday. Now she has a bloody nose because you kicked her.” Mike lectured.
“Not to mention you’re totally the one who destroyed my lip gloss.” Lindsay said accusingly.
“I did not touch your lip gloss.” Cody glared at the blonde before turning to the rest of the group, “And look, I’m sorry about the other stuff I did, but Lindsay was literally giving me a wedgie to try and slow me down earlier, I had to get her off me somehow, I just didn’t mean for it to hurt so bad.”
“Nuh-uh. No excuses. You gotta pay.” Anne Maria shook her head before whipping out her hairspray and spraying it in his eyes.
“OW! THAT BURNS!” Cody cried out in agony before rubbing his eyes furiously.
Suddenly he felt the door open to the Spa Hotel and was surprised to find Scott exiting.
“What the heck is going on here?!” Scott asked angrily.
“We’re teaching Cody a lesson about how he treated Lindsay.” Anne Maria narrowed her eyes at the dirt farmer.
“We never agreed to spraying his eyes though.” Cameron added meekly.
“Ugh, and what horrible thing did Cody do?” Scott rolled his eyes at the heroes in front of him.
“He used her as a human shield and kicked her in the face.” Mike explained.
“I was literally apologizing for that.” Cody wiped his eyes to clear his vision.
“Seriously, I don’t get what your problem is. He’s literally apologizing, you’re being so hysterical over nothing.” Scott rolled his eyes, “Also he literally had to get Lindsay off of him somehow, she was grabbing him by the underwear.”
“But he broke my lip gloss.” Lindsay said angrily.
“You have absolutely no proof to back that up.” Scott fired back before grabbing Cody’s arm and heading inside, “Now leave us alone and quit spraying my teammate’s face over your petty crap.”
Scott then closed the door and huffed in annoyance, “Gosh, they’re so overdramatic.”
Cody was shocked that Scott was willing to stand up for him like that, and he honestly didn’t know what to say.
“Uh… thanks for the help.” Cody said awkwardly.
“Don’t worry about it. You’re one of the few people I like here.” Scott shrugged nonchalantly.
At the elimination ceremony, Anne Maria was eliminated after word spread about what she did to Cody. She was dragged kicking and screaming to the Flush Of Shame.
Chris announced a volunteer for exile and Scott immediately took the opportunity much to Cody’s horror.
“What?!” Cody cried out, very worried for Scott’s safety, but Scott left before he could say anything else and Cody couldn’t help but feel some mixed feelings about this situation. Why did he suddenly care so much about Scott?
