Phoebe was sitting on her couch when a knock came from the front door. Giving a sigh she stood up and went to open the door to see who it was. Once the door was open, Phoebe gasped at the sight.
Siren in all her glory was leaning against the wall, holding onto her gut. Which seemed to be spilling heaps of blood. Without thinking, Phoebe rushed Siren in onto her couch. Once Siren was on the couch, Phoebe ran to get her medical supplies. As soon as Phoebe was back to Siren, she realized Siren didn’t have her mask on. Quickly ignoring it, she starts treating her wounds. Scowling at the sight in front of her, Phoebe lifted Siren’s shirt. The cut was large and deep, blood pooling from it.
Holding her breath, Phoebe starts to clean the blood. When the blood is cleaned, Phoebe moves to stitching the cut closed, before she wrapped the Villains stomach. When Phoebe was done, she realized what she had done.
She had saved a villain. Phoebe herself was a hero, under the alias Fox. She sighed, hopefully Siren was calm enough to talk in the morning and ok. Clearing away the medical supplies, Phoebe gets ready for bed, but instead of sleeping in her own bed, Phoebe sets up a mattress in the lounge. Sitting there for a bit before getting up make some tea.
———————————————
Groaning, Siren sits up. Waiting for her eyes to clear, Siren already knows she is not home. And she’s not dead. Looking around once her eyes clear, she realizes she isn’t somewhere she recognizes. Is someone going to report her to the heroes? Did they do that already? Taking the blanket off her legs, she goes to stand, when a hand stops her.
“Hey, please don’t get up! You need to rest.” a lady appeared in front of her. When did she get here?
Hissing at the lady, Siren watches her as she lets go of siren and head back into the kitchen(?). A few minutes goes by and the lady comes back out, with two mugs in her hands.
“I didn’t know what you liked, so I made tea. If you would like some sugar, I’ll go and get some.” the lady says calmly. Something was wrong with this lady. Grabbing the mug, Siren sniffed it, when she was sure it wasn’t poisoned, she took a long sip. Siren felt something was missing, she reached up to her face. Her mask! It wasn’t adorned on her face; this lady knew her face!
‘Where’s my mask?” Siren hissed, she wasn’t going to attack the nice lady, yet. Maybe Siren lost her mask before the lady found her.
“I’m not sure, when you showed up you didn’t have your mask on” The lady said, whispering as if Siren were about to pounce. I guess that made sense. Siren sighed looking at the floor.
“Why did you help me?” Siren asked staring into the poor lady’s eyes. The lady didn’t seem phased but took a deep breath, before exhaling.
“I don’t know. You were…… hurt and reminded me of my friend. You may have known them, maybe even have fought them.” The lady’s breath hitched, because she continued.
“And Villain or not, no one deserves to die”
That part caught Siren off. ‘Villain or not, No one deserves to die’ that had to be a lie? Who goes out of their way to save a villain without wanting something!
“Now time for you to rest, we will talk more tomorrow” the lady said, taking the mugs. “Good night, Siren”
“Good night” Siren felt obliged to say something.
The light was turned off, the lady gone to her own bed instead of the mattress on the floor. Oh, did the lady watch over her? Maybe.
Laying back down, Siren slowly drifted to sleep.
Apon waking up, Siren saw the lady walk back through the lounge holding the same mugs from last night.
“Oh! Good morning. Now that it’s day time and you’ve had a rest, we need to talk”
Oh here we go, straight to the point. What does this lady want as payment to keep quiet and as thanks for saving her?
“I didn’t get to introduce myself last night but My name is Phoebe Rose, you don’t have to tell me yours but I want to ask a few questions and in turn you can ask your own, sound fair?” The La- Phoebe said with a tone that screamed ‘Disappointed but compromising parent’.
Siren nodded. Phoebe gave her a smile.
“Who hurt you?” Phoebe said, almost immediately darkening. Siren was surprised by the tone but the question was kind of odd but fair?
“Sphinx, you said I remind you of your friend. What was their name?” Siren kept her questions personal and information key.
“Nivida, a former hero, under the name Starfire. She died. Why are you a Villian?” Phoebe seemed to sadden at the mention of her friend, before quickly answering.
Siren sighed; she’ll have to answer the question. But why that question? She became a Villain to help her friend, but her friend is dead. “different question.” Siren snarled, she knew she had to be nice, Phoebe was risking going to jail to help her.
“that's ok, you don’t have to answer that one. Are you alright?” Phoebe’s eyes softened, but her voice gave how she felt away/ Phoebe was worried.
“I'm okay, does that count as your question?” Phoebe nodded. “ok, how did you know Starfire?” Siren almost cringed at how Phoebe looked a little shocked and almost worried at the question but nonetheless she answered.
Phoebe looked as if she wanted to lie to Siren.
“I knew Starfire because she was my sister. Is there anyone who can take care of you, if you were to leave my house?” Phoebe said, looking away. Almost as if she didn’t want siren to leave.
“No. Did you report me to the heroes?” Siren asked, not to shocked at Starfire having a sister, especially one as kind as Phoebe.
“I did not. Do you have family?” Phoebe asked slowly. Siren took a minute to think, she had a younger sister. But what if Phoebe told the heroes? The heroes would use Beth against Siren.
“I don’t. Are you a hero?” Siren wanted to know just in case. When Siren asked that question, Phoebe looked away, that was almost the answer Siren needed. Phoebe was a hero. Siren almost snarled at the thought.
“I am...” Phoebe hesitated. Siren looked in her eyes sadness and guilt filled Phoebe’s eyes. ‘I’m done with my questions if you want me to answer more.’
Siren wasn’t shocked at the offer. “I do have more questions. But I want to make sure you understand, as long as you do not reveal my face, I will not harm you or reveal anything about you to other villains. Got it?” Phoebe nodded, almost expecting it. “Good, what’s your hero's name?”
“Fox” Phoebe said almost instantly. Siren nodded, she knew Fox, even fought her accouple of times. Fox never fought to kill or hurt, only tire them out. Siren could see Phoebe Was Fox.
“Do you know what happened to Hades?” Phoebe looked shocked at that question; she knew who Hades was. Everyone knows who Hades was. The worse Villain out there. But since they died Siren was the worse.
“yes. They were my niece.” and Siren stared at Phoebe looking for the lie. There was none. Hades was the niece of Fox and Starfire, two known heroes.
“.....Who was their mum?” Siren was almost scared to ask.
“Starfire was.” What. Siren sat there for a moment before Phoebe- no Fox spoke up.
“are you ok? Did you know Hades?”
Siren almost snapped and bit Fox before remembering that she was currently Phoebe and not Fox.
“I did know Hades, she was killed by Starfire was she not?”
Phoebe took a breath looking away from Siren, nodding. Slowly tears fell from Phoebe’s eyes and down her face.
Siren took a breath. “I think I’m done here.” as Siren went to stand, she expected Phoebe to stop her. When she didn’t, Siren looked at her, she just sat there looking at siren. Her mouth hung open, like she wanted to say something, tears stuck to her face. As siren got to the front door she heard Phoebe speak.
“Stay safe. If you ever need anything, my door is open” Siren nodded, as she was opening the front door, Phoebe’s phone started to ring.
“shit” Phoebe said quickly, answering the phone.
“How may I help you Jeremy?” the president called Phoebe. Siren quietly closed the door and sat back by Phoebe.
“I need you to look back into Starfire. I need to know if she had a wife, and if she had any family. Something that might not be on her file.” The president’s voice rang out, panicked almost. Phoebe’s eyes started to tear up again. Phoebe put the phone on speaker.
“I can do that, but Jeremy?” The president hummed signaling for her to continue. “After this I quit.”
“I understand. Is there anything you already know about Starfire? I know you two were close” The president asked.
“everything you need to know I already know.”
“Please tell me, I need to know. No one can find anything and we still need to tell them that she’s dead.” The Panick in his voice settled.
“Well she has a sister, a kid and wife. Her mum and dad are not currently living. What about Hades? Has anyone told her family?” Phoebe asked, looking at Siren.
“No. No one has been looking into Hades family only Star fires. Please tell Star fires family’s names.” Jeremy demanded at the end.
“Her Wife’s name is Clara, she is the chief of police. She's the one who shot hades. Willow, I thought you knew Willow was her kid? Weren't you paying Star fire child support because she was also your kid?” Phoebe asked. Siren was intrigued, the president had a kid? And it was Hades?
“I did! But no one can get a hold of her!” Jeremy was annoyed that Phoebe was dragging this out.
“and Phoebe, her sister.” Fox said, sighing loudly.
“Thank you finally! I’m just looking at Phoebe Rose’s file......Fox?” Fox hummed. “Are you Phoebe?”
“yes.” it was funny, the president didn’t even know the hero's names! The president almost snarled over the phone.
“and you couldn’t have said it at the start?”
“You didn’t ask me too, plus you won’t even tell Hades family that their family member is dead. But I know they already know.” Fox said happily.
“What do you mean by that? Did you tell them? Hades was a villain!” Jeremy sounded Angrier.
Siren looked at Fox, silently asking them to let Siren answer. Fox nodded.
“Because Jeremy, Hades is Willow.” Siren hissed happily over the phone. Siren could almost see the president terrified and shaking.
“Who is this?! What happened to Fox?” Jeremy said more Panick than he was at the start of the call.
“Siren, at your service! Phoebe is alright” Siren said soundly way to happy. Phoebe just smiled at Siren, nodding as if reading Siren’s mind.
“What are you going to do with Fox?” Jeremy went quiet waiting for Siren to answer.
“Ohh! nothing, maybe cut their tongue off or even maybe their finger!” Siren said, slipping into her regular self. “oh maybe even torture them before slicing their neck. Wouldn't that be nice Jeremy”
Just as Siren said that Phoebe made a noise close to a whine as if she were hurt. Siren would have believed it if Phoebe was smiling and ok Infront of her. Jeremy must have heard it because now he was almost screaming.
“Leave her alone!” then Siren hung up. Siren looked at Phoebe, silently wonder what happened now.
“Wanna help fake my death?” Phoebe said almost to easily.
“Sure, how are we gonna do that?” Siren asked.
“since I became a hero, I would draw a little bit of blood each week. Soo, I have a fuck ton of my blood we can splatter around the room to make it look like a murder scene which would also make you an even scarier villain.” Phoebe said happily. Almost scaring Siren.
“That works! Let's get started.”
The two get started making Phoebe’s house look like a murder scene before the two leave to go to Siren’s hide out. As they leave Phoebe’s house, they make Phoebe’s front door look broken up, to suggest Siren broke in. As the two walked away from the house, Siren looked at Phoebe and said.
“Nice to meet you Phoebe, I’m Claire.” giving the surprised girl a smile.
“Nice to meet you Claire.” giving Siren a smile back.
“Now come on, I gotta get back to Beth.” the villain said, and Phoebe didn’t question who Beth was, probably already figuring it out.
The Fox gone forever and only the Siren knew where they had gone.
