So, Cube is a bit scared but who wouldn’t? Well, his friends are some fashion freaks— not freaks. Well, a little over the top. He should expect that from a fashion designer and her favorite model.
Mystic Boutique’s rotating doors are open for customers of any kind. And so just like that, Cube is suddenly the blank canvas for his friends.
Mid clicks her tongue as she looks at her quote on quote; blank canvas. Honestly, Cube is scared because one, she freaking owns this place and two, he’s just a gym leader. And maybe a student too.
“Try…. this blouse.” Mid grabs a white blouse from a rack, tossing it to Cube who just barely manages to catch it.
“Okay, so we have a base now.” Leo says. “So it’s autumn. We can try a coat… or a sweater on top of that.”
Cube looks at the two of his friends in the middle of the boutique. “Well I’m a gym leader, isn’t being a strong foe supposed to be my main priority?”
“It wouldn’t hurt if we styled you a bit.” Mid replies. “Your uniform from your school looks okay but considering your gym is only open on the weekends, your uniform really does not make sense.”
“And it’s also autumn. All the other gym leaders have some things in their closet that they can work with through the seasons.” Leo remarks. “So like me, you use steel. We need something that definitely comes across as…”
“Cold and tough, and refined.” Cube finishes the sentence for him. “But I’m not wearing high waisted pants or heels, guys. I’m a student, not someone who works in the fashion industry.”
Mid fixes the sheer scarf around her neck and signals for them to follow up to the second floor of her boutique. Her Espeon walks around her feet, looking up at Cube as if watching intently.
Cube sighs, crying internally , as then they are now up the second floor. A lot of people in here, mostly some people who do need this sort of selection of clothes. Business people, people who do work in the fashion industry, and straight up lavishly decorated women.
“Alright, so, we’ve got this entire section over here. Popular amongst people who wanna dress with the intent of coming off as semi-formal or for people who gotta go to a job interview.” Mid explains to Cube.
“Oooh.” Cube sets his eyes on this darker grey coat with a sort of cape around his shoulders. It’s got bright, silver buttons too, letting it be closed.
He looks at the other two, smiling while holding the sleeve of it to show it to them.
“He’s evolving, Leo.”
“Oh Arceus, we infected him this quickly.”
Cube takes it off the rack. “I think this would look nice. And it looks really cool too.”
“Okay, okay,” Mid chuckles. “we can work with this. You got anymore ideas?”
Cube looks at the wall of mirrors, squares placed nearly an inch apart from each other on a lavender colored wall.
“Can you work green into this? Or any of the colors in my hair. I don’t want it to just be… grey and bleak.” Cube says to them.
“Yup! So obviously, weather getting cold. Scarves.” Leo says.
“I saw a green scarf by the entrance, it was on a mannequin.” Cube replies. “You think that would give this some color?”
“We could also use a belt with a gold buckle. And then maybe… a necklace with a sapphire or any blue gemstone.” Mid remarks. “Okay yup, let’s go and head back downstairs.”
This is some fun. Cube’s looking at everything all at once in this boutique, owned by the psychic user of the elite four. He really likes the atmosphere of this place. The golden chandeliers bring light in, not blindingly however. Just a perfect amount of soft light that bounces off the fabric off the clothes and into the eyes of people.
“Scarf.” Leo places down the sage green scarf onto the other articles of clothing that Cube is unfortunately holding with one arm and one arm only. “And then we can do jewelry.”
“Yes, we have some jewelry and it’s time to venture into the back where the sun unfortunately does not shine due to architectural problems.” Mid says.
Cube’s legs hurt from walking from place to place but yeah, no, he’d rather jump off Arceus knows where than not hang out with his friends.
“Is there anything I could put on my Magnezone?” Cube asks. “Like a small hat?”
“There’s a hat section, come on, let your darn ace out. It needs stuff too alright?” Mid tells him.
Cube shoves his hand into the pockets of his uniform’s pants and brings out the pokèball to his Magnezone.
The Magnezone looks at Cube, then at the two other trainers, then down to Mid’s Espeon looking up at it. Well it definitely does indeed know it’s gonna go through what it’s trainer is going through atleast.
“Okay, hats.” Mid says.
“Let’s just do jewelry, alright Cube?” Leo tells Cube.
The gym leader nods, looking at the array of different jewelry. Mostly just gold.
“Bracelets?” Leo asks him.
“Definitely.” Cube replies. “This is going better than I expected, I thought I would be dead on the floor with a pound of clothes on top of my lifeless body.”
“Oh that’s because I’m here.” Leo says.
“Oh.”
“You can thank me later for saving your life, there’s a bracelet right there with emerald dots and I’m gonna need you to get that and put it on your wrist.” Leo tells him.
“When am I gonna actually try on these clothes?”
“When you get shoes.”
“But I have like several pairs of- yeah… never mind.” Cube says.
“Hey guys, I gave Magnezone a black hat and a matching black ribbon.” Midmystic says, before walking back to them with Cube’s ace.
Magnezone is floating back, with the said black hat and black ribbon. How Mid managed to make it work, who freaking knows?
“I got some shoes too.” Mid adds on, holding up a box of shoes which are the same type of shoes Cube wears in school anyways.
“Can I try this on now or am I going to walk around here all day?” Cube asks.
Mid is now pushing him to a changing room. “Alright pal, don’t die in there- bye!” She says and then shutting the door on him.
Well.
Now he’s on his own in this… noticeably not that tight space of a changing room. Cube gets a nice little space to work with.
He has a door, which now he locks just noticing that it doesn’t immediately lock and he also has a mirror. There’s a purple carpet underneath his feet and shelves for his clothes.
Right. He just needs to remember the things those other two said.
Noticeably, it’s more quiet in here than outside. The already little noise in the boutique is now drowned out by the shut and locked door and Cube looks at everything that he has.
Wow, typical nerd makeover. He thinks. It probably is.
He’s got a white blouse and that coat he has. Pants, he already has which is the same thing that he wore prior to getting dragged here after getting breakfast together— wait, what time was it again?
Cube puts on the white blouse instead of this regular, pastel green long sleeved shirt. He likes it, but yeah, considering both a model and a fashion designer is giving him articles of clothing to wear, he thinks to take their word for it. Besides, Mid already insults the outfits of everyone else in the league like it’s a sport.
The coat is warm and heavy on his shoulders, and the bracelet looks nice. He steps out to Mid and Leo.
“Guys,” Cube says.
“Leo look, look at our creation as artists.” Mid says.
“Can we go get drinks.” Cube says.
“Hold on, I have to… save this memory.” And by saving this memory, Leo means taking a picture. “Alright let’s pay for this kid’s clothes.”
“Please I’m not poor.” Cube tells them.
“Yes you are, now let me pay for this.” Mid says.”
Cube stammers. “Di- didn’t you make all of this?”
“Yeah, and now I gotta pay for it. That’s how money works, now you guys run to buy drinks while I pay.”
