Chapter Text
We wore white dresses.
She put my hair in a twist, and I painted my nails jet black as she did her own. We ran out under the bright full moon, stifling our laughs as we chased each other across the meadow, into the woods, into the blind black shadow of an ancient oak. She sang her vows to me with her hand on my heart and her lips against mine, and I turned her round and whispered mine into the crown of her silken head.
We breathed deep the damp earth air, and I knew that I was damned.
